This is a nice enough facility, but you do NOT get your money's worth. I brought in my sheepdog who has unique more wirey hair, but doesn't shed enough to take care of herself; she needs grooming about twice a year to clean her up. I brought her in and told them I wanted her to get a complete summer cut. I specified trimming up her face so she could see (long beard and eyebrows), shaving down her privates, thinning out her entire coat, and trimming her belly/legs/chest. I also specifically said NOT to tear out her ear hairs, to trim them instead. It took four hours, and when I picked her up I could see her face! I loved seeing her feet all shaped nicely and her nails trimmed, so I paid the $100 and took her home. When I got home and was able to look at her, I realized that her face and feet were the only thing that they listened to me on. There was dried blood in her ears showing they absolutely did rip out her hair against my direction. Yes her butt was shaved, and her face was trimmed, but the rest of her was quite literally untouched. I had to wing it in my backyard with household scissors just to get her hair down to a reasonable length. I will NOT be returning, this amount of work was worth $40 at most. read more

Honor your policy and don't lie just because you don't want to service my dog. I was in the building in the allotted time and you intentionally didn't acknowledge me until the time had passed by 1 minute so you would not have to service my dog. Angie is a coward with subpar work! I've only dealt with her for as long as I did because my dog has anxiety and he was use to her. Dog was bathed every time but never smelled fresh or clean. Nails were not groomed properly. The work was just below basic. The funny part is that they always asked for a tip. She never once followed directions with how I wanted my dog cut. I asked for a puppy cut and she was clueless. Good Riddance. I'm sure I can find better at a cheaper price. read more

They cut my cat last time a little bit below the ear, I was understanding, since people make mistakes and was thinking it was a one time thing since everything else looked fine. I just went back and let the lady know she accidentally snipped her on accident last time and to please be careful this time and the lady who cuts all the cats was very dismissive and non-apologetic about it. I got her back and when we got home I realized she cut her in the same place as last time even deeper and worse and much more blood. I just decided to not go back, until today I saw she had nipped one of her nipples and there was dry blood around it and it was visibly different then the other ones. They are not careful or even considerate with the animals especially the cats, don't recommend. read more

After searching high and low for a salon that takes cats (and having had multiple bad experiences with our last provider)- we were excited to find Pampered Paws and meet with Monica. You can tell that everyone who works here really cares about animals. Like most pet owners, we are pretty obsessed with our little guy and Monica did an amazing job on him. He looks fantastic. We will definitely be back. read more

A little pricey and the cut was a little inconsistent. We have a 8 month old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and like a "family pet* cut vs. a show cut. We got more of a Cockapoo cut that the SCWT cut we got the 1st time (a different groomer) she was groomed. read more

As a new dog owner, I was in search of a local groomer for my pup and stumbled upon Pampered Paws through Yelp. Located on the east side of Mayfair Rd just a bit south of North Ave, it's conveniently located near lots of retail spots to pass time while waiting. Our doggo was super nervous upon arrival (I think he thought we were tricking him into a vet visit), but the staff member who checked us in was friendly and welcoming and put him at ease. For $50, he got a bath and haircut, nail trim, gland expression, and ear cleaning. They also offer free nail trims for 12 weeks post-appointment. His full service took about 2.5 hours, so leave yourself plenty of time if you book here. He left with some renewed pep in his step-- I think he's enjoying his new look! We look forward to returning here in the future. read more

Brought our 1 year old Goldendoodle in for grooming. I talked with the groomer saying we wanted to keep her fluffy especially around face and paws. She came home with a buzz cut! So disappointed, she didn't listen to my request at all and obviously have no idea how to groom doodles with wavy coats. Not to mention she was there for 5 hours ( much longer then they originally stated) because they were short staffed. We won't be back! read more

Terrible experience. Had bad experiences before but nothing like this. Keep trying to give them a chance but I am always left looking like a fool paying and tipping before even seeing how the butchered my doodles. Today they shaved, on accident from not paying attention, a deep line up the side of my doodles leg to the skin! Also for some reason shaved her stomach and inside her legs when I know for a fact she was not matted! I also said longer coats and short faces and got the opposite with big fluffy ears. My other doodle seemed like they didn't wash or brush her ears, had crusty stuff in them and were definitely not brushed. My poor girls! Definitely will not return, not worth the $165 I paid, and to think I tipped 20% before seeing them! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! I called and made an appointment for my dog and asked them for the cost. I told them the type of breed I had and they told me $55.00. While dropping him off they talked about their services. I had been before but it was a long time ago. I informed her that I wanted my dog cut before being washed. The groomer said they wash first because of what it does to their clippers. Dirt....So what your clippers get dirty you should wash and sanitize them before and after every groom. I explained to her when you cut a humans hair you wash it afterwards to get the extra hair out. I want it like this because my dog's skin is sensitive. My dog is so sensitive that I bring his own shampoo and conditioner (Paul Mitchel products). I went to pick my dog up and I was told it was $72. I said, "when I call I was told $55, why is it $72?" They told me because they cut the whole body. I went back to my car to get a credit card because I had bought cash. I said, "don't you cut the body of all dogs?" Oh well we cut them the way the American Kennel says to cut them,". I asked, "Why didn't you tell me this when I brought him in?" Then the groomer had the audacity to say, "Well you're welcomed to take him someplace else." Why would you say that to a paying customer? I had to tell her that what she said what NOT something you say to a customer. I wonder would she have talked to me like that if I was White read more

I have to say that I am heart-broken to have to write this, but I must. We have an almost 8 month old dachshund puppy and our 9 year old sheltie. Last week was the first time for the puppy to ever be groomed and I took the sheltie in, too. It did not go well. The grooming here is EXCELLENT. They do such a nice job. However, something has happened in the last year. They are not friendly any more. And I have no idea why. Maybe it's just me that they don't like? They were not excited to see the puppy---WHO is NOT excited to see a puppy? Even people who don't like dogs are happy when they see a puppy. I explained it was his first time. They just took my dogs and told me they'd call. When I picked them up, they looked great. But it was what happened when I asked how the puppy did that sealed their fate: "Oh, he was terrified. To trim his paws I had to have someone else hold him down and he barked and cried the whole time". Then she rolled her eyes. I was devastated. Why would you say this to the person who brought the puppy in? And why would you not try to help him? And why would no one say anything like, "He was kinda scared but we helped him adjust, etc." Instead, I now have a puppy who will be terrified to go to the groomer again and an older dog who I now see why she was skittish. I had no idea. The fee here has increased and I am happy to pay it as long as two things happen: 1. They do a good job with the grooming (and they do!) AND 2. They are happy to see my dogs and try to help them during the process (this did not happen) Attitude is everything. Anyone got any ideas for a great groomer? We are looking for one. read more

Brought my Aussie in for a little trim & bath. I know my dog is a nervous wreck and wiggly as all get out so I was rather impressed with how good she looked post grooming. I have been going to Pampered Paws for 10 yrs with no issues, until 5/15. I had made an appointment to have her groomed a month ago, which I found was odd. I never had to make an appointment a month in advanced EVER. Mary said that the groomer I used was booked till then. When I took my dog in, nobody told me that the groomer had quit. She lied and told me that she called and left a message, but she never did. They didn't even bother to call before the appointment to tell us that she was no longer there. Apparently, somebody else had groomed my dog and cut her hair very short on the body and the hair on her head and face was still long. I was very upset! They don't know how to run a business and I will not be going back! $70 down the drain read more

We have been taking our dog here for over a year now, and this is definitely where we will continue to go for our doggie grooming needs. We have a shih tzu who isn't generally a big fan of grooming - bad experience as a pup - but at Pampered Paws, the staff have been very sweet to him. One particular groomer, Shannon, always does a great job and they make sure that we get scheduled with her every time. I have never had trouble getting an appointment within the week! Also they keep their own dogs, including 2 incredibly cute brussels griffons, in the shop! Always happy to see them. read more

I took my old male Hovawart to this place for the last five years of his life and they always did a beautiful job. I gave this place two tries and unfortunately both didn't work out. This place is walking distance from my house and the staff is very friendly but sadly it's not enough. I made an appointment for my one dog to get groomed at 8AM. Upon dropping her off I wasn't given an estimated time for how long it would take, but I also didn't ask. Every place I've been to has been three hours so I assume the same for them. One o'clock roles around and I haven't heard anything, So finally I called and was told it will take another 40 minutes. Okay, then why did I have an appointment at eight am? Finally, I picked her up and I was told I get three months free nail clipping, GREAT DEAL! When I finally got my dog home I noticed she was full of hair like she was poorly brushed, her nails did not look cut, her dew claws especially was not cut, and when I smelled her she smelled like wet dog. I'm normally used to a nice fruity smell When she gets groomed. I figured I could always just give my dog a bath at home, some people forget the dew claw sometimes, and her nails weren't that terrible long I can just Dremel them a little bit to where I'm comfortable. Unfortunately, I did not utilize the free nail clippings since I found out I was pregnant shortly after. Few months after my very first experience I decided to give them another chance. We just adopted another dog so this time I brought two dogs to get their nails trimmed. Sadly the dew claw on both dogs where forgotten AGAIN, and they did such a hack job wth their nails I had to go back with my crappy dremel to even it out. I ended up finding another groomer that's further away but I don't have the issues that I have had with this place. Really wish it would have worked out. read more

I mistakenly took my 2 dogs to Pampered Pet. It was horrific! My one dog she cut off all of his whiskers and shaved him completely that his skin is pink. He is shivering. My other dog one ear is cut 2 inches shorter and her left side whiskers were cut off. When we called the groomer who is the owner she suggested we bring the dog back and she would cut off the other side! This is horrible. When looking at my white dog he was stabbed twice by the scissors near hid hind left leg too! read more

Called for my first appointment at Pampered Paws and the girl that answered the phone was extremely friendly. They have late hours, so it is easy enough to get an appointment in the evening. I took my 16 year old, deaf, crabby miniature poodle in for a groom and my 8 year old stubborn min pin in for a nail trim. Luann was wonderful with my crabby poodle and I felt completely comfortable leaving her there. She was also nice enough to tell me that just a nail trim is $10, but if I paid for the $26 groom for my min pin I could have unlimited nail trims for 3 months. Score!!!! His nails are a bit long, so I will be taking him in once a week until we can get them nice and short. I was initally told about 4 hours, and Luann gave me a call after just 2 hours to say they were done! But, told me to take my time getting back if I needed. Definitely recommend! read more

Would absolutely NOT recommend this business. I have a 5 month old maltipoo puppy. I was very specific when I called about the service I was inquiring about... a simple trim of the hair on her face and cutting of her nails. When I arrived I was booked for a full groom which was scheduled to take hours. A service I did not request. The staff member who took my call & booked my service happened to be there & accused me of not being specific on the phone. I declined this, as it was not what my puppy needed. As I was about to leave the owner reluctantly agreed to do did the trim. However was extremely rude. I went through with the limited service because they made me feel as though the mix up was my fault. This is my first dog & I had never been to a groomer before. I paid for the service, and tipped her because I appreciated her taking the time to do the limited service. I was told as I was leaving if the nails grew back, per their policy I could return for a nail trimming free of charge. I called to confirm this service and made an appointment for 2/19/20 for the nail trimming. After the technician started cutting her nails, I was informed I would be charged $14 because the free nail trim is only offered with the full groom. The owner was again there. She kept her back turned to me the entire time while her staff confirmed that she would charge me for what was supposed to be a free nail trim. She never approached the counter or came to talk to me. EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE I will never return to this groomer again read more

I love Pampered Paws! I've been taking my Himmy here for a few years now, and they do a great job with her--she's always so pretty and soft when they're done. They also love her, and it's great to be able to leave her in their hands, knowing they take good care of her. We've also used their "play room" in the basement for our dogs--it's nice to be able to drop the cat off upstairs, then take the dogs downstairs to play for a bit and run off the crazies without getting all muddy and dirty during the winter/spring. read more

We have 2 dogs, a cocker spaniel and a cockapoo. Both are difficult to groom as they squirm a lot and don't like to be touched by other people, but they always leave with a great hair cut none the less! Everyone has always been friendly towards my husband and I and VERY loving towards our dogs. It's easy to get in for an appointment. The ladies also take the time to find out exactly how I want the dogs to look. You also have to love the complementary nail and face trimming between appointments! I've used petco in the past but they are not nearly as friendly, more costly, and the dogs never come out exactly how I wanted them to. I tried to groom them at home for a few months, just because grooming gets expensive (no matter where you go!) It was such a hassle. The dogs hated it and I hated it. I've realized it's definitely worth the money after snipping off a portion of one of their ears because he kept squirming. Pampered Paws is the only place my dogs will be getting groomed from now on. ! read more

Do not take your dog here. We were very specific about what we wanted cut, and they cut off way more than we wanted. When I called to try to figure out how this could possibly happen after we were so specific about what we wanted done, the groomer wouldn't even admit she had cut more than we requested. I can tell by looking at my dog that she did! We are very frustrated and will never be back. read more

Wow! I am very pleased with the service received at Pampered Paws. After explaning my concerns about looking for an experienced groomer to a DIFFERENT groomer, said groomer actually recommended I give Pampered Paws a call. I called Pampered Paws and explained that I have had trouble finding a groomer that gave a consistent grooming and that my dog had become fearful of grooming after the last groomer we saw. I have been trying to keep our Shih Tzu/Yorkie, Rocco, groomed myself since as I haven't had the heart to take him somewhere after our last experience. The woman I spoke with at Pampered Paws was extremely understanding and was able to work us in the next day, which I appreciated so much. Upon drop off, Monica was courteous and let me take my time to explain our story and what I was looking for grooming wise (which I am not good at verbalizing, I should add). When I came to pick up Rocco, Monica mentioned she groomed him herself and wrote down how she groomed him for next time and to not hesitate to let her know if we want something different next time. When they brought Rocco out I could not believe how great he looked - the best grooming he's had in his 5 years of life. I am ecstatic to have found OUR groomer! Pampered Paws also offers free eye trims and nail trims for 3mos after grooming! We will be back again! Thanks again to the wonderful staff at Pampered Paws for the outstanding service! read more

I just took my cat in for a lion cut and was SO happy with the results. Not only does my cat look super cute, but the customer service was so wonderful. I would go back if she needs another lion cut :) read more

Paula is my favorite groomer EVER. She gets it right every time. My 13-year-old Cockapoo is essentially my first child so I am incredibly picky (and I mean PICKY!!) about who I entrust his care to. George is a nervous nellie and Paula and the staff always talk sweetly to him and try to comfort him (or maybe me?) just as I would. Paula takes the time to listen to any health issues that arise as George ages so she can work around them. George has been going to Paula for grooming every six weeks for at least 4 years now. If you want a friendly and caring groomer that won't "poodle your doodle" (Doodle owners understand the importance of this) Paula is your gal. If you want your "poodle poodled", she's still your gal. She LISTENS to what you want for your pup and she executes it well. It isn't just a "one cut fits all" that you get with many of the groomers at the big chain stores. I highly recommend you give them a try. read more
