We decided to try Sky after many years. We had both eaten there a time or two before but years ago. We ordered the limeaid with boba for our child. She said she liked it -- but it wasn't worth the cost. We ordered fried pickles as our app. They were incredibly salty & fried so hard we could barely chew them. The ranch with it tasted good though. For our meals we had the beer battered shrimp - my child ate only 1 shrimp because the shrimp were fried so hard & overcooked that she couldn't chew it unless we cut it into little pieces. (She's 7, so it shouldn't have to be cut) she loved the fries though. So that was 19$ down the drain. I ordered the sesame shrimp. Again, shrimp was so big & fried so long that they were so tough. The sesame sauce was so salty & sweet & overpowering. I only ate 3 shrimp. The veggies were just mushy steamed veg. Nothing special. We also ordered the captains platter. My husband disliked the fried oysters. He said they were not good at all. The fish looked old & very overcooked. The rolls were dry & tasted old. I would usually never complain about it being too cold somewhere but it was sooooo cold inside. Our food got cold immediately. I admit, I didn't mention the quality of the food when asked. I felt too bad. The waitress was really sweet. But we rarely saw her at the end of the meal. Another man, the manager I guess, picked up her slack. He was nice, too. Our bill before tip was like $91 or $94 I think. Overall, the food was definitely not worth that amount. We fast 23 hours a day & eat only 1 meal per day. We were so hungry that we ate. But the quality was really bad. Esp the captains platter. I just looked at my receipt & I THINK I was charged extra when a plate was a special. And the price of one plate was diff on receipt compared to menu. read more

We went and had the Pho and I had the Tuna dish and it was so good! The pho broth was one of the best we've tasted (and we've eaten it all over) our waitress was so nice and the manager came over to Chat with us about the pho broth and other menu items! Don't waste your time. Food was not good at all. I ordered a Chicken Fried Steak and it was over cooked and tough as leather. The service staff was across from the s at another table chatting the entire time with customers and not once ever came back to see if we needed drink refills or what we thought of or food. They were so good we devoured them before I could snap a pic. Served with sweet Thai chili sauce. The main event was the shrimp platter that was excellent. We've been eating at the Sky off/on for 10 yrs. and the food/service has always been excellent, until Friday evening! After being seated, it took several minutes for the waitress to show up, my wife ordered a glass of wine which took 15-20 minutes to get and she said it was nasty.We ordered dinner, when it showed up, my wife's Chilean Seabass tasted fishing and bland like it had been frozen forever. They advertised my 16 oz. ribeye as Wagyu, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't. It was tough as shoe leather. The best thing we ate at dinner was the French fries and they were frozen. This used to be our favorite restaurant in Victoria, but that changed in one visit! read more

This was a nice surprise! We have been trying to go to the establishment for a few years now, and finally made it there. The crab cake was huge and amazing, all meat and very little filling which made it so good. I had red fish and was cooked perfect and the hubs had scallops with noodles that he loved. Finished off with some delicious carrot cake. I would reccomend! read more

I never thought I be doing this to this place ,but went there last night ordered a salad with my meal as always waitress told me they changed the Italian dressing too a new kind , well the new tasted nothing like Italian , more like buttermilk ewww. So I ordered the chopped steak as I have had it before come to find out it also was changed & I was not informed by waitress. It was 2 very bland hamburger patty and were way over cooked the peppers were also and that were no good at all . I have no idea if there were any other changes but these two were not a good change at all. They need to go back the way it was or they lost a good customer as I go there often. Never was asked if we needed refills ate meal with one small glass of tea. Waited for ticket waitress finally came and asked us if we needed refills. Told her not now we are through with meal. The service at Sky has improved tremendously over the past two years. They did have some inexperienced waitstaff initially. The owners make an effort to make it a pleasant experience. They greet you warmly and visit your table during your meal. We have received complimentary birthday cake and have been allowed to sample a glass of wine before we purchased it. They have even brought a special fruity and garnished drink for my young daughter at no charge to occupy her during dinner. The food has always been consistently good. The stuffed blue crab is a personal favorite of mine. The chef is hilarious and visited our table when I requested copy of the stuffed crab recipe. He wouldn't divulge everything but did give me a take home version of the recipe to try. Most items are a bit pricey and worth it in my opinion. My family loves this place. read more

This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. Inside is very clean, lots of open space and classy. Huge seafood menu, in addition to the selection of appetizers and steaks. The Godiva cheesecake was divine. I visited Victoria for the first time last weekend and dined at Sky Restaurant at the recommendation of a friend. I was so stuffed by the time I left that I had to order my dessert to go (a rare thing for me). Some of my favorites from the meal: - Sky Eggrolls (appetizer) - these eggs are rolled by hand, comes with an awesome sweet chili sauce, and I seriously ate at least 7 of them during my meal. - Noodle Wrapped Shrimp (appetizer) - don't be confused by the name; these are delicious large shrimps wrapped in a crispy sheet of noodle. - Fried Mushrooms (appetizer) - crispy and well-seasoned on the outside, surprisingly juicy and tender on the inside. - Grilled Norwegian Salmon Filet (entree) - this was cooked to perfection, and I stole some off the boyfriend's plate despite usually not liking cooked salmon. - Sky Seafood Soup (side) - I LOVED this soup!!! You can order it as a soup or pick it as one of your two sides to go with your entree. Seriously? There's even chunks of scallop in here! Awesome flavor and consistency. SO awesome for a side! Other things to note: - They have three different private areas for events or large parties. - The women's bathroom (I didn't go peeking in the men's one) is very spacious and well-maintained. - They have a full bar, and can mix you up anything you fancy. - The owners (a family) are really kind! read more

One of the best restaurants in Victoria, TX! The steaks here are always SO good - super tender, flavorful, and juicy. I ordered the Wrigley Field combination (12oz ribeye steak and snapper) but had my snapper fried instead of grilled. Everything was great! The snapper could have used a little more seasoning but I got a side of tartar sauce so it was fine. Steak, as mentioned above, was phenomenal. Based on the price ($29) and the portion size, this plate was a steal! Tip: there's no drink menu for the bar so know what you want. Service was great! Our waitress was very attentive and answered all our questions promptly. Only thing that would've made it better was if they had kids menu with the kids size portion and price. Seems like more than a few people have the same complaint as me. This is the second time going to Sky and we will not return. The server was rude and took her forever to bring us our drinks and refills. She checked on us a few times. Only to have rude comments about hold on the drinks are coming. It was a slow night, so no reason to have to continue to ask for refills and drinks. Our food came out wrong and the steaks were charred and not good at all. We sent them back in hopes they would fix the problem only for them to return the same. When you have to ask for A1 sauce that means your steak is not good. Spending over $20 a person you would think the service would be too notch, fast, polite and on point, but it's not. Huge disappointment and we will not return! read more
