I had to give them my credit card when I made the appointment a few days earlier. I am handicapped and had to wait 1/2 hr before going to station. The girls had an attitude from the get go. My husband mentioned this also, as he dropped me off. The stylist started by telling me they couldn't do my color and I'd have to come back for a consultation by someone more qualified. This was a waste of my time and because I had been a hair dresser I knew what she was telling me was bullshit. All and all when the stylist said she would cut my hair, I declined and got out of there. Not to step forward with t word in there again. Beware

I've been seeing Brooke for over five years, which includes when I lived 2,000 miles away in…read moreSeattle, Washington, and now living in the city of Chicago. The primary reason I'm loyal to Brooke is because she is a fantastic and well-educated stylist. I have particularly long, thick, and coarse hair, and Brooke knows exactly what to do with it to avoid a head full of frizzy, out-of-control hair. I'm literally afraid to let anyone else cut it. Secondly, Brooke (and other stylists) reserve time at the outset of your appointment to consult with you in regards to your current likes, dislikes, and changes you'd like see made. This is important because it shows me Brooke is listening carefully and will address my concerns. I never walk out unhappy with my cut, likely for this reason. Finally, everyone I've ever encountered at the front desk is helpful and courteous. Most of the receptionists even remember my name, and always ensure my appointment is booked with enough time (especially because I come in from the city). It's also worth noting that the salon itself is clean, bright and well-decorated. I appreciate that they sell some of the best haircare products on the market, including Aveda, Redkin, and Pureology. Amato is an upscale salon that rivals any in the city of Chicago, and the prices are more than fair considering the quality of service. I highly recommend you give it a try if you're on the hunt for your "forever" stylist.

And you have to ask them to go back and remove certain spots that they couldn't see of hair left. I feel like as a waxer it's your job to do that and catch that. 2. I find that the younger woman who works with them is very entitled and has an attitude. She walked in on me undressed when she wasn't my waxer because she needed the waxing cart for her client in the room next door. NOT OKAY. I wish I didn't tip. I booked with Kushi again for this month. I showed up on time for my appointment. Kushi was not there. The two girls were not aware of an appointment and were not expecting me. When I asked for Kushi and they saw I was disappointed about her not being there when I specifically booked with her for wax... the younger woman again said something in her language to the other lady about me and that's when they acted like there was no appointment. I went in regardless thought I'd give someone new a try. The wax bottles were not melted at all. We barely did a like 3 strips and she asked to let the wax melt..... I wasn't going to wait and I just felt very annoyed and disappointed. Unprofessional to say the least. I'll never be coming here again. And yes the wax bottles are shared between clients so unsanitary.

They make it easy for you to book online through Square. They did a really good job with threading my eyebrows, lip, chin and neck. I love that it's precise, and she listened to my needs with my eyebrows. They have plenty of free parking on premise, and they also have a punch card. Onto my issues: 1) they do not wear gloves whatsoever for waxing services on your stomach, butt etc. I get it if they don't for face services, but in my experience at any facility that does hair removal, this is the first time where someone did not wear gloves. Yes, she did hand sanitize but it kind of irks me in terms of sanitation. Knock on wood I haven't caught anything yet, and they did get the job done though. I just won't be back for body services because of this. 2) it was one person working there the entire time. I made an appointment, and she was expecting me but there was still a bit of a wait as they take walk-ins as well and I was running a few minutes behind. 3) she would not stop upselling me. I get it - I have been a sales rep before, but it's a problem when I tell you multiple times that I am not interested. I am also not someone who came in for just an eyebrow. What is also interesting to me is that the other people around me who only got an eyebrow service was not upsold. TLDR; I'd be back for facial threading services exclusively, and it is the only thing here that I can recommend to others, unless you are ok with someone touching your body and private areas without gloves.

I was in about a week & a half ago for a brow shaping, lamination, & tint (a service I have gotten numerous times at another location with zero issues). I got the text that the esthetician was ready so I went inside to check in. I see her walking in after me & I still waited another 10 mins for my appointment. There was not much small talk which was fine, the only thing she kept asking was if my skin was burning - something that had never been asked during any of the other times I've had this service. She also did not trim the brow hairs so they were completely uneven. I got home & followed the proper aftercare (didn't get them wet for 48 hours, no products, etc.). I noticed one brow was completely different. One looked great, the other side looked like nothing had been done. The hairs were barely relaxed, they were not sitting as they should. Most of them had a weird kink to them. I reached out right away to rectify the issue with no response. It got worse after sleeping on them. Overall I am extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service from this location & I will definitely not be back.
