(We have known them for over 20 years, and we felt bad that we couldn't help them financially). Embarrassed about the whole situation, they asked if we knew anybody that could help them or help them find bankruptcy lawyers (long ago I used to work at an attorney's office, so I made some phone calls). I was referred to Michael Worwag and passed on the information to our friends. To make this short and to the point, we researched their website (http://www.worwagmalyszlaw.com) and found that they help with filing bankruptcy (whether it's chapter 7 or chapter 13). The four of us (we accompanied our friends for moral support) went and met with Michael Worwag and Joanna Malysz. They were very informative and helpful and based on our friends' finances and expenses they Mike was able to tell them if they (our friends) qualified to file bankruptcy. They were NOT pushy. The lack of professional courtesy, customer service, and proper business practices at this law office makes it mind-boggling to me that they not only have such a high rating, but are in business at all. My first interaction with the team, specifically Chris, was very pleasant and encouraging. This was the interaction that made me decide on this firm to help me with my immigration needs. In the very beginning, I couldn't have been more pleased. There were many encouraging interactions and quick responses. However, after I paid the initial $6000...the phone calls started to become mostly ignored, the emails were mostly ignored, and the frustration started mounting. On the rare occasion that I did get to speak to someone at the desk, they were frustrated to be answering the phone and couldn't have sounded more put-off to just be speaking to me. Finally, after what seemed an eternity, we moved to the second stage (and second set of fees) of our visa application (after the petition approval). This is where things really went south. When I went to pay the Thousands of dollars more that they quoted me to have them help with the forms (to get us documentarily approved through the National Visa Center), they DOUBLED the fee. Not exaggerating...Doubled it! I fought. I was told "Prices have changed since we started". Still i fought back, saying that this was ridicules, and unfair, that I had a quote. The response to that was "He must have quoted you wrong". I couldn't believe that a law firm would take advantage of me and my family like that. After a LOT of deliberation my wife and I decided to pay the Grossly engorged fee. What else could we do? It had already taken WAY more time than we had been told in the beginning, and we needed to get this done. After that, it was the same story as the first time. Once payment had been made, my emails and calls went mostly unanswered. Finally we got our interview. My email about uploading a few extra forms went ignored. As such, when I was there at the consulate for our interview, they told me that we didn't have all of our forms uploaded. Thankfully, they gave me till the end of the day to upload it myself. I would give less than one star if I could, and I would suggest that you VERY much consider a different law office for your immigration needs. As for the fee? I'd say get it in writing, but I had that and they still ignored it. This will forever be the Worst part of my experience immigrating to the United States.

Way back in the day... circa 2007-8... got appointed as a Condo Board President, and we had this…read moretax firm (Elliott & Associates) did not seem to achieve savings that were remotely worth the fees they charged (33% of PROJECTED savings).due 30 days after they submitted the appeal. Yeah that translated into $300+ fees... with no visible decrease in the tax bill. How stupid. Who signs a contract like that? Geez. Stupid previous Board... was the worst. Anywho, Google helped me find GNR - who came out to our next monthly association meeting, and presented a solid plan to reduce the property taxes for out 140+ units, contingent on ACTUAL reductions in the tax bill... SO compare the new bill against the last one, and see the savings... THEN pay 4-5% of that... so one time I saw a drop of $2800+ and paid $150 or so... much better... Don't quote me though this was back in 2008-2009-2010 maybe 2011 I believe... All I know is after GNR, I saw a bill that started at close to 9K which ended up being about $2400 maybe less.... of course that was when a lot of property values dropped so that assisted in lowering valuations. Regardless, the firm is very helpful, and the return on investment is excellent, and the payment structure is incentive for them to get you results. Payment is due when the results happen, not before... and as I recall, they don't seem to be pounding on the door to get paid. Good sign that they are successful. principled, and... what... Is it possible...GOOD guy attorneys? Maybe... so. ;-) P.S. I am an Assoc. Board President once again. Hmm... "Who ya gonna call?"
