Wow! Almost a year and just getting around to writing this review now. Motor Works Auto Repair in…read moreBemidji, MN is amazing. We were driving from Edmonton, Alberta to St. Louis, Missouri and had a rear tire blow out on our car. We had the rear tires replaced in Begley, MN, but they were unable to do a 4 wheel alignment for us. We got ahold of Motor Works, explained the situation, and they got us in (nearly immediately) getting us back on the road in no time! Our original plan was to drive the Great River Road and wouldn't you know they went above and beyond to even assist with our route home?! Great service, great people, and a great experience........ PLUS they had Ancient Aliens with George Noory on the TV in the lounge area. LOL. Thanks for taking such great care of us!

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!! I took my truck in early Monday, October 12th for a transmission…read morefluid flush, overdue and recommended per my service manual. I told the woman at the counter what I needed and requested a price estimate. I'm not sure of her name, but the card on the counter said Brittney Suchy. She immediately started telling me a flush could be dangerous for my transmission because of chunks of metal shavings moved around inside the transmission. I stated I just wanted a price and schedule the work if they can do the job. The man at the counter told her to schedule it as transmission work on their computer and I got a time of 2:30 for a service appointment. Still didn't have a price. Okay. They seem to have positive reviews. I'm new in town, I'll come back. At 2:30 the same gentleman was at the counter, so we started over. We determined that I had a 8 speed transmission and he went to work on the computer. He started telling me stories about how much trouble they've experienced with GM truck transmissions, having to replace 5 in the last year. My b.s. radar was now at full alert. This process of giving me a quote shouldn't have taken more than 2 minutes. Then while looking at his computer, he starts talking about the labor taking 4 - 5 hours because of all the parts they had to remove to get to the pan. I knew I was about to get scammed. He quoted $1,147 with 4 hours of labor. I left and contacted the local chevy dealership. Their cost was around $450. I got the job done at Kenny's Goodyear garage on Bemidji Ave. for $328. It took just under 1 hour to get the job done. Truck runs great. Thanks Scott at Kenny's! I've dealt with liars, crooks, thugs and bullies from the playground to corporate boards. I opened my 1st business in 1974. I've seen it all. Stay away from Motorworks.
