Fish and chips with onion rings
    Reyna R.

Worst fish and chips I've ever had. Waaay over priced for the quality of food they give. All of us were unsatisfied with our order. Taste horrible but wen ur hungry and have a headache u eat. I'll never get food here again. $100 wasted. They charge for all the sauces that u need like ranch for my order of Onion rings or tarter(which is in a packet. Yuk!) And cocktail sauce that u need for ur fish and chips Hot with doors open. NO A/C on just fans in 86 degree weather. Could of went to a actual restaurant or captain fish and chips on mack road and been satisfied. Atleast they house make their ranches and tarter sauce and the food taste amazing there. Shrimp Cocktail was horrible. Had a chamoy taste with tajin rather then tomatoe juice. DONT WASTE UR MONEY OR TIME HERE.

Came here for dinner purely out of convenience because we were next door, but I'm super glad we ended up here! We arrived at the same time behind two other people so we did have to wait about 20 minutes for our food, which isn't too bad for dinner time. Our food came out piping hot and fresh. I just picked the chicken bites with fries, with Skip's sauce. It was on their "value menu" so it's a smaller portion but it was still safisfying. They put some kind of seasoning on top that made it remind me of sour cream and onion chips, and it was so tasty! Loved the kick from the Skip's sauce too. On to the main event - the loaded fries!! My husband ordered these and I'm glad that he did because I totally missed it. I figured they were just going to be regular fries with chicken and sauce on top so that's why I didn't give it a second thought. When we opened the box I had no idea it was also topped with mac and cheese - game changer!! I was eyeing the mac and cheese on the sides menu but didn't see any meal options that came with a side so that's why I opted for that chicken bites meal. But these loaded fries were delicious - the mac and cheese on top is so cheesy and the chicken was so tender. I like all three sauces they put on it too - ranch, hot, and Skip's house sauce. The actual store is pretty spacious, mostly all 2-seater tables but there are a few larger booths in the side room that we were able to sit at. It's not the most enticing interior design but we were hungry so we stayed there to eat. I would probably just do takeout or DoorDash next time, but either way I will be getting the loaded fries again (and maybe try it with sweet potato instead!).

Three meats cod fish shrimp and fried oysters.

The food was dry my oysters were frozen and then fried you can tell the difference the fish was supposed to be cod fillets but it was cut up like fish sticks it was okay but could have been better the shrimp was also dry I did not get a good cocktail sauce to go with it it tastes off to me. I had to ask for hot sauce and ketchup when I think that should already be on a table for the price that I paid for three meats was not worth it I probably will not be going back to Skip's.

I really enjoy the fish fry here. Their cornmeal batter and seasoning of everything is on point. And their portions are really large. I would never eat inside though because they do not have AC and it's hot as satan's butthole in there. I just wish they'd fix their website and online ordering as it's always down and they don't have a website no more. They not even on DoorDash or Grubhub anymore. When they give you your order I would suggest taking it out of the plastic bag they put it in cuz the moisture makes the cardboard box all soggy .

Good food and service. Coming back here for these loaded fries with chicken. Food is so good.

3 Way Combo Basket Loved the size. Fish and fries were nicely seasoned. Staff were friendly. Highly recommended.

(Yesterday- 1/29/2025) The fish and fries were nicely seasoned. The staff were super nice and the wait was not bad. I don't ever do reviews on yelp but I had to do justice to the great food I had! Definitely bringing people over

I don't even know where to start when it comes to this review. I've been wanting to try this place and always drive by, but this day I was running errands left and right with my son (5yr old) and had time to stop and grab something to eat. First disappointment was they were out of oysters so that just killed my mood of expectations of the food. Then I told the employee that was helping me that it was my first time being there so I'm not sure what to get (no recommendations of what was good to try for the first time was given ‍). I decided to just go with what I'm used to ordering when I don't know what to get, chicken (I got the 3 piece wing and fries, something I could have made at home). Then when I seen there was shrimp I asked to add it on to my meal (so instead of paying for an add on the girl did it as a pick 2, which I had no problem with but I didn't know what it included and she didn't seem like she really wanted to help me out. I looked at the menu and figured out what the pick 2 was ‍). As I sat there waiting for my food the conversations between the 2 females behind the counter and the 2 guys in the kitchen began to get as if they forgot that there were customers around. Although the food smelt good, once I opened my box I was blown away at how the food actually looked (not in a good way). The chicken was small, the shrimp were under cooked, the fries filled the MAJORITY of the box. For $15 plus it wasn't worth it and I won't be back.

This is my first time trying skips. I'm big on chicken sandwich and once my friend told me they have one I had to try it. I came here during lunchtime. As soon and I walk it in it was COLD. I was wearing a hoodie and it was cold. They have a menu displaced on monitors really high up near the ceiling. There was a person sitting waiting for their food and a customer inform of me ordering. So the place was not full. The sandwich is $11.99 ($12) by itself and with a combo it is $15.99 ($16) with taxes $18.05 for a chicken sandwich, fries, and drink. I went ahead with the hot Nashville sandwich instead of the original. The lobby was pretty clean inside. The walls are painted red with some wood trims. It looks nice. So after 24 minutes. I finally got my hot chicken sandwich. Visually it looked great. It had some sauce on it and oil oozing out of it. It was more of a long chicken tender rather than a patty. The chicken had a good taste to it but it was not a crunchy type of batter. The sauce was good. The thing I really liked was the coleslaw. It was what saved the sandwich. While holding it I could only see the grease just dripping from the sandwich. I would give a 6/10. I don't think it's worth what it is priced what but you can decide!

We did the Wednesday deal and it affords you one flavor and a sauce per ten wings. We ordered the garlic parmesan with blue cheese and the peanut butter with ranch. Both wing flavors were very strong but not overpowering. We really enjoyed the fries as well. Perfectly crispy, if but a bit oily. Oh how the greats fall…read more About 10 years ago, when Fire Wings started popping up, it was legit one of the best wing spots around. Unfortunately, its time at the top was short lived. Year after year the quality and service declined, and eventually I stopped going. I rarely order delivery, but wings sounded good and Fire Wings is the closest to me, so I gave it another shot for old times sake. I have dined in at the midtown location before and it's fine, fast casual and usually busy late night. Today, I ordered the 10 wing combo with plain fries. Hot take, but I've never liked their seasoned fries. They always feel overcooked and oily to me. I got mango habanero and lemon pepper, added five extra fire wings, and an extra ranch. The total would've been $38, but I had a $10 off coupon, so it came out to $28 before tip. Still expensive, but that's delivery pricing these days, not really the restaurant's fault. What is their fault is the size of these wings. Look at the photos, they were like toothpicks. I used to love Fire Wings because they served good quality wings with a lot meat on them. These had to have had less than an ounce of meat each. And it wasn't just a few of them, like 80% of the order was undersized. I honestly feel like they might have set aside a bunch of small wings for delivery orders, because the last time I dined in they were not this ridiculously small. The fries were whatever, basically standard frozen fries. I do remember that they used to give a ton of seasoned fries back in the day, but it looks like they also skimp on fries as well these days. The ranch was just okay, nothing special. The mango habanero was solid, one of my favorite wing flavors. Lemon pepper was just okay. And the fire flavor, which is supposed to be spicier than regular buffalo, tasted exactly like regular buffalo. This will be the last time I give Fire Wings my business. I have to accept they just aren't what they used to be. At this point I'd honestly take Wingstop over them for bigger wings and better sides. It's a shame, because the one thing Fire Wings always had going for them was their range of flavors.

I got the mild because at hot chicken places mild is more like an actual hot anywhere else, but it was exactly what I was craving- very good crunch, moist, and spicy. The tenders themselves were just as good, and the house sauce was super good as well, went perfectly with the spicy chicken- it was less mayoey than roosters, but not in a bad way, it may have been thicker too. Lastly the fries, they had an amazing crunch, definitely some of the best fries in the Sac area, super super crispy and seasoned super well to go with the sauce. Definitely give this place a shot if you're craving fried chicken, or even just some good fries. We will be back at some point, probably for another Sac concert.
