Even if you follow them on social media, and you like and item or anything they get back to you, everyone goes above and beyond, I also read something about dirty, impossible !! I actually let my kiddo stay in the floor playing while shopping, this place is super clean! I love this shop! Cutest selection of baby clothes and other gear. A mix of really great brands. If they don't have a size or item they will find it and mail it to your doorstep. The customer service is top notch with the most helpful and knowledgable employees. If I can't make it to Vail, they pull together a box full of clothing that is easily returnable if it doesn't work out. Before this, you could find a ski jacket or a bag of candy for your child, but what if you forgot a simple pair of jeans or lost a pair of sneakers before your trip to the mountains? I can't even imagine where Vail locals may have shopped for their kids before now! Skipper & Scout carries ready-to-wear clothing from many designers I recognize from adult womens clothing - Stella McCartney, Vince, Milly, Zadig & Voltaire - as well as all of the classic children's lines - Pink Chicken, Petit Bateau, Tea Collection. They have clothing, shoes, and accessories for a wide age range of girls and boys - newborns to young teens. It is a lot to take in on your first visit, but their staff is approachable, friendly, and helpful. I quickly learned how to navigate to the section I needed to buy a gift for my friend's 2-year-old son and her newborn. I also stocked up on gifts for my 13-year-old sister and another friend's baby shower. What can I say? It's hard not to go a little crazy when everything is miniature! So cute, and affordable. They also carry natural skincare products - sunblock, lotion, diaper cream, etc. Such a necessity in a sunny and dry location. I follow Skipper & Scout on Facebook and Instagram and love seeing photos of cute kids in the store in the most adorable outfits ever. Working with the owners of Skipper & Scout has been a complete joy. Not to mention that they are bringing such a wonderful addition to the heart of Solaris. The location could not be any better, right next to the skate rink! I'm so disappointed by my recent experience at this store. My family lives in Vail and I spend quite a bit of time there. We try to shop local whenever possible and stopped by Skipper and Scout this past weekend to pick up two baby gifts. I don't think I've ever been treated so poorly by a salesperson. When we walked in, the sales woman was helping another couple (the only other people in the store). We waited patiently for her to finish so we could ask her some questions. As she was finishing helping the customers, another customer walked in and began looking at the cashmere onesies. Rather than ask us if she could help us, she immediately began to help the other woman who came in after us. Again we waited patiently. Finally, we chose three items (without any assistance) and headed to the register. At that point, the sales woman acknowledged us and asked if we were ready to check out. I said we were and her response was "I'll be with you in a minute." She then continued helping the other woman who had come in after us. After being in the store for about 25 minutes with barely an acknowledgement, we put the items down and left. We won't be back. read more
