After the first lesson, he was given his white belt and beamed from ear to ear. Now it is a few months later and he still loves going there. Next month he will graduate to his yellow belt! The environment is friendly and casual. This is very much a family business. There are often three or four instructors for each class, which is great for the younger students. The class splits into various belt colors (white, yellow, orange) to suit their different skill levels. They play, exercise and practice respect and self defense. They also offer classes for adults, kids summer camp, host patents' nights out and birthday parties. They are pretty awesome.

Then I did a little research and emailed Dragon Law TKD. Within 5 minutes, Master Luke was calling my house to answer any questions we had. On another occassion before we signed up, we wanted to check out the establishment. We just showed up unannounced and he happened to be closed. I called his cell phone # and he told me he would be there in 5 minutes which he was. Now more importantly, after we signed up. My kids love going to Tae Kwon Do and Master Walsh is amazing with these kids. He does an incredible job of not only teaching TKD but life lessons throughout each training session. He is the real deal and is a 6th degree black belt. Anyone who asks me where to send there kid for any of the above, easily gets the answer Dragon Law TKD. I thought this would be a passing phase but after 5 years he still enjoys training. I think all the instructors have a great balance between teaching and training the skills of self defense and making it fun. Conor also likes being with the other kids. They work together and help each other. This is truly a "family" karate studio. After about 2 years of taking Conor to the dojo, I decided to join him in training. It is something we can do together and it provides me with time to exercise. I have limited range of motion in my legs, so I was concerned about being able to do this. The instructors have shown me how I can effectively execute a technique and defend myself even with my physical limitations. The adults who train are supportive and encouraging of one another. Despite my genetic hypermobility, I lacked the musculature and training to kick above my waist. Master Giamo recognized my untapped potential and took me under his wing. I am now a 5th Dan. I assist in instructing classes at Eagleville Taekwondo while continuing my mentorship under Master Giamo. For Christmas I received from F a gift of training at Project Capoeria. We have both completed two sessions so far and we really enjoy it. This training is no joke. I consider myself pretty fit, but I am challenged not only physically but mentally as well. Instructors Mestre Doutor and Hannah are really supportive and knowledgeable. I always feel safe but I am encouraged to overcome my own fears. You start working right away and are taken through a warm-up, and flexibility training. I haven't done rolls and backbends for a long time, but I was helped every step of the way. Even doing flips(with assistance) on day one. I never felt pressured to try something I wasn't comfortable with. We also worked on typical Capoeria moves and even "sparred" to live music. After class I always feel accomplished, exhilarated, spent and looking forward to the next class. There are classes for all levels including children's classes.

His training began with an introductory assessment to determine if he was mature enough based on reasonable expectations for kids his age. We then had the option for a 3 class trial (including uniform) before committing to a program. In our case, my son enjoyed it and so we enrolled him. Since my son was interested, I also chose to enroll and begin my training. What makes Nackard Karate so special is the caliber of the instructors. They are incredibly patient with the kids but also teach important lessons around focus and following instructions (much needed in this digital age). For adult classes, there are no egos - the instructors are gracious with their time and care very much about instilling proper techniques.
