Just had my second of 3 "Procell" treatments to help with acne scarring; I was a little nervous and did quite a bit of research into finding a place as I've had a really hard time with my skin in the past. Prior to my first appointment, I spoke with Zaida on the phone, and talked the process through with her, what she would recommend for my skin and sent her photos. I loved that she talked it through with me, it helped ease anxiety. When I walked in for the first time the space felt calming and really nice. I went into the room for the treatment and felt super relaxed, cozy, never felt rushed or uncomfortable, Zaida talked through the process with me, what she was doing, putting on my face etc. she even put the machine on my hand before my face so I knew what it would feel like. She also talked to me about incorporating things like Omega 3/healthy fats into my diet and how that will help my skin instead of just about adding more products to my routine, which I think is really important! This treatment is something I've been wanting to do for a long time and just wanted to make sure I found a good place, and I'm so glad I found Skintegrity! I've struggled with acne since I was a teenager, so like 15 years I've been trying to get it under control. Saw dermatologists, trolled reddit and TikTok, tried everything, nothing worked. Since I started seeing Zaida at Skintegrity, it finally got better! You can see the three before photos right before I started seeing her, versus how my skin looks now. I would like to mention that I am somewhat late on this review. However, I would like to warn people. The service is pretty friendly and welcoming, however they try to upsell you A LOT! They're a bit pushy about it. I specifically mentioned that I use Cerave night cream because it's the only night cream that does not break me out. I've tried a bunch already and keep coming back to Cerave. To each their own right? However, when I mentioned that I used Cerave, I was told "oh no, we don't like that brand." Then I was sold Facereality products. I am open to trying new products because my skin may be complicated at times, so I bought the products. My skin barrier was sensitive the day I showed up and I had booked an appointment to get the Ultimate Detox Facial. Part of the ending on this procedure, you receive a chemical peel. Zaida knew my skin was sensitive and told me to let her know if my skin burns when applying the product. My skin burned so I told her. Then she proceeded to inform me that it's not supposed to burn. On my way out, I noticed my skin was irritated but nothing too crazy. I was told I was going to be given a discount, which did not happen, so I still paid because business is business and I still got the treatment. I liked the service, so I tipped $80-$90. My total came out to be around $500-$600, along with 3 products that I bought. I got home and I notice my skin was drying up. Next day, I woke up with scars. MY FACE WAS SO BURNED. I WAS SO EMBARASSED TO GO TO WORK THE NEXT DAY. I sent Zaida a text message, she gave me a few recommendations, but not much that can help. I was attempting to trust the process so bad. As I was getting my facial done, I was telling Zaida that I had been having bad luck finding a good skincare treatment spot. She did a skin consultation beforehand, she noticed my skin was sensitive that day, and she still decided to apply a chemical peel on my skin. My assumption is she either wanted the money, or is not that great at identifying or evaluating skin problems/conditions. She could have charged me for all other products and say "hey your skin is too sensitive today, I don't think adding a chemical peel would help, so let's skip that" or at least ask me if I wanted to skip it and warn me, but no she decided to risk burning my skin to get a few couple of dollars more. I was so disheartened looking at my skin for the next 2 weeks and still disappointed throughout the month. The pigment of the scars remained after the scars fell off my face. Don't come here if you're skeptical. It's a bit pricey as well for the results you can get elsewhere. I asked Zaida if there is anything she can do or any figure service she may provide to make up for the scarring or help with the pigmentation of the scarring and she just ignored my message. She only provided me with a list of how to use the products I bought. The rest of my message was ignored. This place is more for the money than actually helping people better their skin or feel comfortable in their skin. I would think TWICE, if you're thinking of choosing this place. They are also not very good at picking up the phone. Once they get your money, they don't care for you afterwards. So sad, because if they would have shown me that they care and provide great customer service, make up for burning my face, I would have been a new client. Only cool thing that I liked was their hydrogen skin purifier. I don't really see those at other places, but all in all, I'll rather skip this place than to have my face looking burnt for a whole 1-2 months. No thank you. UPDATE 2: It's almost been a year and I couldn't be any prouder of my skin and the effort and support Zaida has given me through all of this. Yes, I still have small breakouts here and there and I still have scars but I am so grateful the hardest part of it is over. I remember when my face used to be so inflamed that I couldn't sleep on it or have anyone touch my face. I felt like I couldn't leave the house or even go to class. My skin really affected the way I walked through life and I hated the way I started to be because of it. I have been suffering from cystic acne and scarring for several years now and had all but given up on my tired, angry, constantly erupting skin until I met Zaida. I wanted to wait until I saw some serious results before writing an honest review for Zaida and let me just say, EVERY 5-star review on this page is well-deserved! I've never had perfect skin, but my face took the biggest turn for the worst back in August. Between August - late October, I spent around $800 on products that did NOT work on my face and became obsessed with reading acne articles online. My acne became such an issue, I stopped leaving my house altogether. I can't even sum up how miserable and helpless I felt because of my face. In late October, I finally decided to do my research and find a GOOD esthetician to help me with my skin. Mind you, I had a horrible first esthetician experience at a different clinic so I was really skeptical on meeting Zaida. Then came the day I first met with Zaida and - wow. BEST. DECISION. EVER. My first appointment alone was enough for her to gain my trust. From her acne consultation, to the products she uses and suggests, to skincare regime advice, diet, acne-triggers and pore-clogging product knowledge - EVERYTHING. I saw immediate results after our first appointment. This was enough for me - it was the first time I saw any sort of improvement in my skin in months. She also recommended products and gave me a day-by-day, morning/night skincare regime for the first 4 weeks. This was crazy helpful considering my skincare regime before obviously wasn't doing any good. Not only is Zaida an insanely knowledgeable and skilled esthetician, she really cares about her clients. I first met Zaida in December of fall 2018 and my skin had been at its lowest. My acne comes and goes, but this time I had experienced a severe breakout especially in my forehead and cheek area. I was too shy to go out and only left my home for work or school. Yet, when I first met Zaida she put me on an acne bootcamp program. I was no stranger to this program. This program had worked for me before. I met her 2x a month for 3-4 months. After my first facial with her, she popped most of my pimples and I thought I was going to leave with a red face, but I left glowing that day. I was so lucky to find Zaida for my first (EVER) facial! I'm going to be honest - I was pretty intimidated to address my skin problems with someone I didn't know, but Zaida was extremely nice and professional.
