    Hot dog

On the dog, The bun was very soft and the hotdog had good flavor. The chili didn't have tons of flavor to it, and I don't believe it is homemade as it appears to be something out of a can. Overall it was a pretty good dog for the money. My main gripe with this place is that Skins is supposedly a southern staple, born and bred in Anderson South Carolina, yet the only sweet tea they have is in a premade off-the-shelf package. Ladies and gentlemen, this is South Carolina. There is absolutely nothing more sacred than having good quality sweet tea on tap at all times!!! I also got a cookie and that did appear to be homemade and was outstanding.

All the way with hot sauce!

Is it sad that I plan my trips back home to the schedule of this place? Oh well...I can't help it! I have to have these every time I'm back in Anderson. They are the absolute best hot dogs you could ever eat. It's a simple place with great people working there. I always look like a pig, because I have to have at least 6 at every sitting! All the way with hot sauce! I really can't give Skins enough stars!!!

Unfortunately I do not have a skins nearby because I believe these are about the best hot dogs you can get out anywhere. So anytime I am in the area I stop in. I love that they just do what they do well, hotdogs with the perfect hotdog chili, a few onions, and some mustard. Get a couple and you will probably want a few more. Cheap lunch too with chips and a drink (sadly no coke products anymore though). One of the best things about Skins though is the service with a smile. Friendly and fast service made eating here a positive experience.

We enjoy the hotdogs here weekly. I like mine with dry chili (with the grease drained off). Great service, great food!

It's a basic hot dog. Kind of bland honestly. Boiled weenie. Staff was very friendly.

Skins has great hotdogs. They only serve hotdogs so they know how to do them right. The Chile they make is also great on the dog.

It's a simple gas station and convenience store on the outside, selling sodas and beers and apparently, quite a few lottery tickets. There is a kitchen area with posted menus of fried foods and hot dogs. And here I am ordering two bacon fried hot dogs with onions, mustard and chili. Oh, Mylanta. They're not very large but two was plenty. Prepared to order and brought to me at the table, I enjoyed them quite a lot. Delicious and full of flavor, I am expecting some heartburn later. Friendly service in this out of the way spot. But you need to put it "in" your way and get some Dawgs. [Review 19355 overall - 929 in South Carolina - 325 of 2023.]

The place is a lil rough on the outside but it's a gas station/convenience store, so to be a lil expected. You just need to go suck it up n go inside... you'll be glad you did. Being able to pay only $4.50 for a kids dog (with bun and condiments if they want), fruit snacks, juice pack/ or water bottle, and a bag of chips of their choice, is pretty great. And really awesome when you need a quick fix on the go. They also have plain hot dogs w no bun, or a corn dog option. I like to get the Covered Hopper w sauerkraut and spicy mustard, and I add ketchup and jalapeños- mm mmm! For only $2.50!! Can't beat it. And the guy gets the Depot Dog for $3.75 covered in chili, cheeses, onions, slaw, mustard and sliced pickle. Amanda, the owner, makes the chili herself! It's a cute, casual spot, with a walk up window, picnic benches w umbrellas, and a grassy area hill that kids can play by the train tracks. They also like to use the cardboard by the recycling to slide down the hill haha fun! There can be a line at lunch time- many on their quick lunch break, but it moves fast, and they make 'em fast. They also have the Special meal which includes 2 dogs w your way, two sides- which can include potato salad or slaw, baked beans, whole pickle, chips, etc. And includes a drink. For $10 something- not bad. We often share this meal and get a water bottle.

Everything about this place was absolutely exceptional. Starting with service! The woman that greeted us when we came in and took our order, is one of the sweetest ladies ever. I just kept telling my husband after each small interaction with her "oh my gosh I just love her". It's an incredibly warm and inviting space, and I wish we lived closer just to be able to experience that alone more often. But lord have mercy, the food? They knocked it out of the park!!! They have a huge menu with all sorts of stuff that you don't see super often. We got the Chicago dog, the BBQ burger, the sweet potato fries, onion rings, and a blackberry shake. Those sweet potato fries will have me dreaming about them until I can make my way back here. There's no amount of praise to do this place justice! All I can say is, if you haven't tried stopping by here for a meal, you absolutely need to!

Why does it take so long? We hopped out and got snacks at the food truck next door to tide us over until we could pull up to the window. I'm not exaggerating. Also they have two lines for the drive through to order but just know if you pull up to the outside one absolutely no one will let you in. Might as well go somewhere else. We got donuts while waiting.‍ Can't say that is an endorsement. So disappointing. When I finally got my food about 15-20 min later it was a cold burger. Maybe it had been made fast but the line didn't go fast enough and the burger got cold? I asked them to remake it by going inside and heard the employee saying "she wants it remade", and this employee was nice, and someone else yelling "WHY?" And then a lot of complaining about it. The food is really good and that's such a conflicting thing because I'm unsure if I'll go back. It ultimately ended up taking about 40ish minutes. Edit to add: some staff was super nice and helpful. One offered me a cup for a drink to help with the low blood sugar because I'm diabetic. And that was considerate, so I grabbed some swallow of sweet tea so I didn't get too dizzy. So thank you to her for understanding that diabetes low blood sugar doesn't wait. Once it starts dropping it's dropping.
