A real hot dog joint. Friendly family style place with a simple menu - hot dogs. Nothing fancy here, just some good simple hot dogs. They are pork and beef combined and are good. Not large, not fancy, nothing pretentious at all. The buns are great. Just a bit doughy, soft, steamed... they have the expected toppings. I got chili and mustard. They are not large so I ate two. They have been around since the big war. No joke, since 1945. That says something. I've been here more than once and would come back. read more

Hands down the most vile hot dog (not sure it was a hot dog) I have ever eaten in my life. It was not beef-based in any way, but rather a disgustingly small dish. Ordered and was served in 12 seconds. They don't have sauerkraut or relish but call themselves a hot dog joint. Gross on every level. It's astounding how they manage to cover the rent. 0 stars, to be exact! Gross!!! The meat, if they call it meat was dog food ! read more

We enjoy the hotdogs here weekly. I like mine with dry chili (with the grease drained off). Great service, great food!

It's a basic hot dog. Kind of bland honestly. Boiled weenie. Staff was very friendly.

Quick service great food and friendly staff- just be sure to bring your tums if you get heartburn

Love Skins Hot Dogs. Smiles to everyone. Skins is famous for its hot dogs. I always look forward to a friend and I enjoy their Dogs.

Tasty dogs!! I just moved to Georgia last year. Whenever I got a craving for chili dogs I would run to Athens. Well I heard about this place and decided to try them out when I had my next craving. Well I did and I am glad I did!! They are tasty, had a couple chili dogs with onion and a diet Pepsi. Yay somewhere here with Pepsi! I will definitely be back when I have my next craving! read more

On the dog, The bun was very soft and the hotdog had good flavor. The chili didn't have tons of flavor to it, and I don't believe it is homemade as it appears to be something out of a can. Overall it was a pretty good dog for the money. My main gripe with this place is that Skins is supposedly a southern staple, born and bred in Anderson South Carolina, yet the only sweet tea they have is in a premade off-the-shelf package. Ladies and gentlemen, this is South Carolina. There is absolutely nothing more sacred than having good quality sweet tea on tap at all times!!! I also got a cookie and that did appear to be homemade and was outstanding. read more

Skins' Hotdogs - Hot dog - Fast Food Near Me - Anderson, South Carolina

this food is awesome I ate it all up so I don't have a picture but I give it five stars.

The hotdogs are ok but do not order a chili dog because chili to this place is just putting cooked hamburger meat on it. I am use to real chili dogs where the hamburger is cooked in chili sauce so the chili dogs are good. The ones here are dry and bland tasting. read more

We used to go to Skins in Greenville when we lived in Greenville and really loved the hot dogs. Plus, they had specials for a dozen hot dogs and such. Anderson not only doesn't have any specials, their hot dogs are nothing special. I was very disappointed and doubt that I would ever go back. read more

Is it sad that I plan my trips back home to the schedule of this place? Oh well...I can't help it! I have to have these every time I'm back in Anderson. They are the absolute best hot dogs you could ever eat. It's a simple place with great people working there. I always look like a pig, because I have to have at least 6 at every sitting! All the way with hot sauce! I really can't give Skins enough stars!!! read more

Skins' Hotdogs - All the way with hot sauce! - Fast Food Near Me - Anderson, South Carolina

First of all, we went here and my boyfriend was like "I'll have a chili dog" and they're like we don't have chili dogs........ WTF? There's even one in the picture!!!! For some reason the stupid waitress just decided they didn't have chili dogs when they obviously do. How ridiculous is that? Hot dogs were ok. Nothing special at all and a little expensive for a small little hot dog if you ask me. I'd rather go get a foot long coney from Sonic or some cheaper dogs from Hot Diggity Dog in Liberty, SC. At least they have a variety of sides there. read more

Super friendly and fast. Best hot dogs ever. Expensive fro a hot dog but everything is now a days.

How can you call this a 'dog' good thing they had chile at least there was some meat. My goodness you can spread them things like butter. Has anybody ever tried a Sabret Hebrew National or Nathan's. Almost made me want to open a store just to introduce a real Hot Dog. UGH!! IF IT DON't 'snap' it ain't a DAWG!!! read more

Unfortunately I do not have a skins nearby because I believe these are about the best hot dogs you can get out anywhere. So anytime I am in the area I stop in. I love that they just do what they do well, hotdogs with the perfect hotdog chili, a few onions, and some mustard. Get a couple and you will probably want a few more. Cheap lunch too with chips and a drink (sadly no coke products anymore though). One of the best things about Skins though is the service with a smile. Friendly and fast service made eating here a positive experience. read more

Always GREAT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD and TIMELY! I have LOBED SKIN's since I was a young child! As an adult I recently moved to Anderson and I have to say, I can't get enough of this place! I literally try to find days I can go by and get Hit dogs when I get off work! Unfortunately it is always after 6:00 and they close at 6:50. So I'll place an order driving home and swing by and pick them up, but it is SOO WORTH IT! And as an added bonus they don't accept tips directly to the waitresses! There modo is, "if I'm not paying the waitress enough, then I need to give them a raise." Something to that effect. It takes one stresser off the customer! They keep customers coming and going very quickly! So I can't say how wonderful this place is! Anywhere with the name Skin's on it usually ROCKS! This one takes all the cake! read more

Been going since I was a kid. Hasn't changed in almost 30 years. Still amazing. If you haven't tried a Skin's hotdog (or three), you haven't lived. read more

Plan and simple. These are great hot dogs! I understand that there are 12 locations. This location has good seating and a friendly atmosphere. Absolutely no waiting for your hot dogs. My stomach is full for under $7. read more

I've eaten at Skins for many years. Everytime I do, I'm greeted with a smile. This is one of the best hot dog eats in South Carolina. I highly recommend you try them if you haven't. You'll be glad you did. read more

Skins Hotdogs sells a nationally recognized hotdog. If you're from out of town, you must eat here. Sure they don't look like much when you look at the boiled hotdog smothered in chili and onions, but once you put that piece of warm, hot-doggy goodness in your mouth, you will see why this mom-and-pop restaurant has a national reputation for its delicious dogs, not to mention the fact that the hotdogs are inexpensive, service is lightning fast, and they get your order right nine times out of ten (although, for some reason, when I ask for "extra mustard", they interpret it as meaning "extra chili"). read more

I guess I can see the appeal but to me it wasn't a very good hot dog the chili seemed bland and wasn't anything special. I think it's more of a local nostalgia then anything else that keeps people coming. read more

If you are looking for a great hot dog with quick and friendly service the Skin's is the place! The make how you want it.

Skins has great hotdogs. They only serve hotdogs so they know how to do them right. The Chile they make is also great on the dog.

I love your hotdogs but you need to update your hrs on the door. It's 5:45pm on a Saturday and you are closed. The sign says you close at 6:50 Mon-Sat. I was very disappointed....my mouth was salivating for a hot dog w/ chili, onions, ketchup and mustard with a side of slaw. read more

I went to Skin Hotdogs for the first time two years ago when I went to Anderson. The Hot dogs are excellent. I plan on stopping by again this summer when I am in Anderson, SC. read more

Love the dogs but please add Coke products. Coke products are in your pictures & even in the television excerpts on your store. I not mind paying for cheese - waitresses act like I'm weird paying 40 cents for it. read more

These hoys dogs at Skin Trashers in Anderson are very good. They really know how to make them.

Fast, cheap, and easy! Service is very quick. If you plan on eating in the restaurant, just have a seat and a server will be out almost immediately to take your order. If taking it to-go, just walk up to the counter and someone will take your order. You'll get your food in a matter of minutes, usually about 1-2 minutes after ordering depending on the number of hotdogs you get. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because they charge 50 cents for a tiny little cup of cheese and a can of soda is almost the same price as a 20oz bottle($1.45 can compared to $1.85 for a bottle if I remember right). Granted, the cheese is usually packed in there but it's cheese, it shouldn't be 50 cents. If you haven't been to Skins, is a local treasure that needs to be experienced by Anderson newcomers! read more
