While my platform, "Tragedy to Triumph," was developed from my personal experiences of losing my father and sister to drug addiction and overdose, it was through pageantry that I would pursue this passion to help spread awareness. While holding the title of Mrs. #Harrisburg American 2023, I was crowned Mrs. Pennsylvania American 2023! Fast forward a few months of representing my state in so many public appearances that I knew I wanted to get serious about my skincare goals. The more opportunities to attend public appearances, the more excited I became about competing at nationals. While searching for medical spas in central Pennsylvania, I found Glo Skin Care MD. For over 13 years, GLO Skin Care MD has established itself as the top premier med spa in the Central Pa region. I wanted a practice that stays on the cutting edge and specializes in medical aesthetic services and wellness. It was also important that I found a place that would listen to me and a practice that treats me as an individual. Upon entering this elegant, warm medical spa with breathtaking views, you know you made the right decision. The nurses are personable, very knowledgeable, and immediately make you feel at ease. I met the owner of Glo Skin Care MD, Carmen Johnson Kitts RN, at a Gals that Brunch Harrisburg networking event. Upon meeting, I quickly noticed that she is down to earth, genuine, and a good person who deeply cares about others. Nurse Kitts is exceptionally talented, listens to your concerns, and gives you options for what she believes will best reach your goals. Nurse Kitts is a Registered Nurse who has been practicing in the medical field for over 25 years. Her strong background in Emergency medicine and extensive work as a scrub nurse in the Operating Room sets her apart from other nurse injectors in the area. Her mindset that she doesn't do "cookie cutter work" solidified my decision to choose GLO Skin Care MD. Since beginning my journey, I can attest to the top-notch service and the incredible results I have experienced since becoming her client. Since working with her, I look refreshed and better than ever! Some services they specialize in at GLO include and are not limited to: Injectables, PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) for acne scars and hair restoration, Custom Skin Care, Microneedling, PDO Threads for the face AND body, Plasma IQ, treatments, Oxygen Bar treatments, IV vitamin drips, Sclerotherapy (leg veins, spider veins), and many more results-driven services. Carmen and her team members pride themselves on being educated and passing that along to their patients. They are also thorough in their explanations of what to expect during and after treatments. I have worked with several other Med Spas in the area, and the differentiating factor that sets Glo Skin Care MD apart from the competition is their wholesome, family-like, welcoming approach. Starting with my phone call to schedule the appointment, Erick quickly answered the call and answered all my questions and then some. During your first moments in the door, you'll meet Tracy. She will quickly work hard to make you feel like you've been going there for years. Carmen takes client follow-up to the next level and ensures that her clients are comfortable for the days to follow and that no question goes unanswered. With SO many of these services popping up every day, on every corner, it's hard to know where to go. I say, "Look at your friends. Who looks good? Where do they go?" It was a no-brainer since I am connected to several men and women already going here. Thank you, GLO Skin Care MD, for boosting my confidence! It's just the edge I needed to feel ready to compete at Nationals in Las Vegas this month! Oh, and I promise ... I won't let you down! Thank you so much! When we arrived were greeted by a gentleman (unfortunately his name escapes me) who during our entire visit (4 of us with strong personalities) treated us with kid gloves. He immediately took our coats and asked what type of beverage we would like (tea, coffee or wine). Yesss...I'm liking him already. We had to complete some paperwork and was then was escorted to the Zen room. We each sat, drank and chatted away until it was time for our appointments. We all were taken about the same time for our treatments which was good. I went with the deep tissue massage. My masseuse Christine was awesome. She ask me if I had any questions or any areas that she wanted her to work on. I explain my aliments which were my calf's and the heels of my feet from my workout in the gym. Christine worked on those areas and gave me suggestions on things I could do at home to alleviate some of the pain. She spoke only if I had questions which is what I like and was professional and caring. She made it a wonderful experience. Thanks Polish Spa for making me and my girls spa day a start to a relaxing day.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience so others can…read moremake an informed decision. This was my first visit to this salon, and I came because I researched reviews and was excited to get a few services, which I never do for myself. All services were booked through Polished Salon on Phorest. I specifically asked for callus removal before and during my pedicure on my first visit, the young girl who did my pedicure replied " oh yeah! definitely! we've got an hour an a half!" but it was not provided. Instead, I was told to come back the following week, and they ended up doing an entire keratin treatment to remove my calluses. When I asked the front desk staff why the callus removal treatment was not performed during my first visit, the front desk staff replied, "I don't know." I booked a brow lamination service expecting professional results and clear communication, but the service did not turn out as expected. After my appointment, I noticed issues with the lamination and returned to the salon several times in an effort to have it corrected. Throughout the follow-up process, communication was very frustrating. The technician was difficult to reach, and when I contacted the salon with my questions and concerns, I was told she operates as her own separate business and that they could not help with concerns related to her work or clients. Since I booked through the salon, it was disappointing to feel that no one was willing to take responsibility for helping resolve the issue. The experience quickly became overwhelming as this was my FIFTH time back within one week, I was given answers such as "I don't know," and I felt the front desk had essentially told me I was on my own. I specifically asked the front desk staff to help me and provide answers; I never demanded a refund. I also apologized to everyone in the waiting area as I began to have a panic attack. I was sobbing so hard I could barely catch my breath. Another customer at the salon kindly stayed with me outside for about 30 minutes until I calmed down. I also reached out to the salon owner to share my concerns, but instead of feeling heard, I was described as causing a "commotion" and "aggressive," which was hurtful given how respectfully I had tried to address the situation. The technician did eventually refund the cost of the eyebrow service, but only after offering to redo my lamination for the 3rd time in one week (not healthy or safe) multiple return visits and a significant amount of time and effort on my part. During my last visit, she said she had "done a lot of work" on me and explained that my brow lamination was more of a "straightening" of my brow hair. My brows are naturally straight, so this would not have been necessary. I wish that had been discussed before the service or at my first follow-up, not after five visits. If my brows were not a good candidate or the results were expected to be limited, I should have been told upfront. While I appreciate the refund, it did not make up for the repeated trips, poor communication, and emotional distress. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business, and I hope my review helps others make an informed decision before booking.
