Jayne is indeed specialized as I experienced less pain with the hard waxing than the sugaring which was done when I lived near DC. I didn't even have radiating skin inflammation feeling thanks to the cooling lotion that Jayne used. I was expecting worse, but the full Brazilian wax was not that painful. I assumed that because Aponi Aesthetics is directed by a doctor, that there would be high standards for the procedures offered. During my consultation, I explained that I wanted natural results, defining my eyebrow arch, and lifting and extending my eyebrow tails. I was told to wear my eyebrow makeup as I normally do on the day of the appointment to serve as a point of reference. I did not wear any makeup on the first 1/3 of my eyebrow. My eyebrow shape was not mapped out and approved by me prior to the procedure beginning. The technician took a picture of my face with the makeup on as a point of reference, numbed and cleaned my brows and then started tattooing. When I felt her tattoo the first 1/3 of my eyebrows I tried not to be nervous, because I assumed that she was a professional with an artistic eye, and that some subtle shading would tie the eyebrow together. At no point during the tattooing did I see the work that was being done. After it was complete, she gave me a mirror and immediately I could see that one eyebrow was lower, longer and skinnier, while the other was shorter, higher and wider. I was told that it could be improved in our next session. Again, as someone inexperienced at first I tried to stay calm, but the more I looked at the results, the more I understood that I could not trust a good result from Aponi. The purpose of a follow up is not to repair a poor initial result, it is to increase the shading. When I called the office, the manager was surprised that I was not happy with the result, and offered to refund me. She later tried to backtrack and say that I signed something that said they don't offer refunds. I have not seen a charge from Aponi on my credit card statement as of now, so hopefully she was true to her word. She also offered to reimburse me for the cost of the removal, but I have not heard anything about that since speaking to her on the phone. I went to Divine Brows and Beauty and saw Lynette the next day for an emergency saline removal. She was shocked to hear that I did not approve the shape before tattooing started, and that she could not understand why on earth the "artist" made the choices that she did in terms of brow shape. I would warn against having this service done at Aponi Aesthetics. They should not offer microblading if it is administered by a technician who can create such a terrible result.
