I made some adjustments to the fangs from the original and brought a printout to my appointment. The gal who did the tattoo copied it straight to a stencil and put it on my arm. The tattoo went fine, though there were constant interruptions due to her double-booking my appointment (I had to wait a couple of months to get to see her. After the tattoo was done, I was given about 1 minute to look at it in a mirror and then sent home. I paid 175 plus a 25 dollar tip for the tattoo. After the healing was mostly over, I noticed that the fangs I had been careful to change were not what she tattooed. The fangs I got were two different sizes and wonky-looking. So, I did some adjustments in a paint program and asked her if you could fix what was wrong. She told me what I wanted done didn't count as a touch-up and I would have to pay again. She then said what she tattooed was what I gave her, and I had been happy with it when she was done. As can be seen in the photos below, the tattoo does not match up with the design. And all I was asking for was evening up the finished product. The size of the alteration is less than a postage stamp. And it wouldn't take more than 1 minute to do. Unfortunately, she insisted it counted as a whole new tattoo, and I would have to pay accordingly. I made a comment about her not being able to stay within the lines and ended the conversation. I had planned a large colored mural on my right arm depicting my stay in Guatemala when I was a child. I am imagining it would have cost me 500 dollars, if not more. Needless to say, I will not be going back to the zone to get that done.

When I called back about it she was stuttering so bad cus she knew she messed it up. I posted an honest review about my experience and she straight up gaslights me in reply. She lied to my face. This review is of the artist who tattooed me. Gage didn't communicate with me much, outside of choosing the colors for my tattoo. I had to tell him twice that the original design I wanted had extra stuff in it, and that I only wanted the crystal design tattooed on my arm (I told this to the girl at the desk who prepared the design for me, and she even told him that before I did). He also didn't communicate with me much during the tattooing process, and took "artistic liberties" with the design without even telling me until after he'd already done it (I spent most of the time with my head back and eyes closed, or talking to my friend who was with me to keep me distracted because it was in a very sensitive/painful spot. I didn't watch the whole time because I trusted that the artist knew what he was doing.). I wanted the exact design I picked out with just different colors, but what I got looks nothing like the original aside from its shape. He even completely left out an important part of the design (this bubbly/sparkly look on the bottom that goes about a third of the way up the crystal). The whole thing is pretty messy and looks like he rushed through it. There are bare spots where he didn't get any ink at all, some spots where the ink stops before the black outline, and there's even a spot where the color goes way outside of the outline. The outline itself is really messy, too; the lines are all squiggly and uneven, and the corners of the crystal aren't sharp... one of the pointed edges is completely rounded. After I paid him he took off to another part of the shop and hollered goodbye from another room, only after we said goodbye and thanked him. When you're permanently tattooing someone's body, you should communicate fully and give them exactly what they're asking for, as they'll have to live with it for the rest of their life. Overall, I'm disappointed with what I got, and with his lack of professionalism. My tattoo is 3.5" long and a little over 1" wide, and I was charged $100. I have several friends who are veterans in the tattoo world, one of whom is an artist in another state, and they've told me I definitely paid way too much for the quality of work that was done. Now I'm going to have to pay more money to get it cleaned/touched up, but I'll be having that done elsewhere. I would like to point out, though, that Uriah did a tattoo for my friend while we were there, as well, and he did an excellent job. My friend is really happy with his tattoo.

I do live in Boston and had been told by someone here and they wouldn't do the piercing because due to the structure of the naval, it would be more of a surface piercing than the regular naval piercing and thereby would not heal correctly, like ever. The girl I spoke to at Hollywood Rebels .. nope. She was mad eager, told me to sign the form, shoot her an ID, and we were off. Piercer looked young but found out she had been doing this for over a decade. She was super friendly, very thorough and informative, and totally vibed with the fact that despite my eclectic piercings and tat, I get nervous about ten seconds before the needle thing happens. Great piercer, gentle as hell, and the place was extremely hygienic, all things super important for those seeking body modification. The girl told me to come back sometime because she likes seeing picture of her final products and I definitely will the next time I'm in the area. Final cost: $50. Super impressed. Edit: Come to think of it, I'm having a huge deja-vu moment and think I might have been at this joint a few years back to fix a piercing that had partially closed. All positive from that experience, too.
