Yes, I am related to this amazing Artist and I decided to book an appointment 3 months ago, since I was flying in to attend my cousin's wedding at the Lake of the Ozark's. How exciting! Flying in from Honolulu HI to get a custom Mitch "GERBER" tattoo done, here at Lake of the Ozark's BAD DONKEY TATTOO COMPANY! Having my nephew put his mark of excellence on me, gives me a feeling of great Pride, STRENGTH & HONOR! I arrived at the Bad Donkey Company this past Sunday, thrilled to have my nephew put his magic ink on me! It's been years since my first tattoo and I was a bit nervous but knew that Mitch was the ink master capable of taking my idea and transforming it into an epic masterpiece. Sara fit us in last minute. She did a great job and was fun to chat with! The shop was clean and very welcoming.

I informed the piercing artist (Tad) that I have an allergy to chrome and asked if we could get non stainless steel needles (gold plated, silver plated, titanium, or other metals). He then proceeded to tell me that HIS stainless steel contained no chrome. I called him on it. All stainless steel has a minimum 10% content of chromium, that what makes it stainless steel. He then threw me out of the room as he pierced my son (who is a minor) His reckless, arrogant, and ignorant attitude could of gotten me sick (best case) or hospitalized (worse case). He is flat out dangerous and untrustworthy! Dont go to Tad! read more

I went to see Mitch here. He made me wait over an hour past my scheduled appointment. But he was funny and the appointment went well. I had minimal redness, pain, dryness or peeling on my tattoo which is/WAS on my foot. A month later, I took off my sock and a piece of the tattoo had disappeared. The rest of it washed off in a bath!!! When I contacted the shop they made it seem like no big deal and said they would retouch it. They couldn't understand my anger over the issue. I refused to return to the shop where I paid for a permanent tattoo and part of it washed off a month later. I would not recommend ever going to this business, no matter which artist you see. They have no accountability or empathy. More importantly, they clearly DO NOT KNOW what they are doing. Before thinking I didn't treat it properly, I followed all instructions given by the artist. I DID NOT take a bath for a week after, treated with the cream he suggested, washed with anti bacterial soap 3 times a day. This was not due to a lack of care. read more

We got spectacular service from Mitch and the gang at Bad Donkey Tattoo. If you have the opportunity to stop by for some ink I highly encourage it. We spent most of our afternoon/early evening there, but with 4 tattoos to create It was worth the wait! I got my first tattoo done here and a conch piercing. It was about what you'd expect from a tattoo studio at the Lake of the Ozarks. They are professionals that know what they are doing, but the employees were brusque both times I was there. I am happy with my tattoo, but it was a pretty simple design. I'm not sure I would go here for anything really complex. My piercing was great, healed just fine. I would probably recommend this place for piercings more than tattoos. read more

Not sure what issue Yam was experiencing here. This place is absolutely top notch! Russ was just voted into top 100 tattoo artist in the world! His work is in numerous tattoo magazines. And thats just me talking about 1 of their artist... I would feel 100% comfortable with getting work done from anyone at the shop. For Yam to say not to get anything "complex" at this shop....this is the ONLY place i would get detailed work from. Don't take my word for it though, check them out on Facebook/instagram. Work speaks for itself. My wife just got a new tattoo from there and Russ was above and beyond amazing. Let us watch him set up, discussed colors that we're going to be used. Took her idea, gave other suggestions to see if she would like to give her variety. Price's were in comparison to the other tattoo shops we've been to in Columbia/St. Louis/Chicago. And people at those other shops aren't in the top 100....just sayin. I just cant say enough good things. read more

I had my bachlorette party at the lake and my moh & i wanted to get tattoos. We both got small arrows and they turned out perfect. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The over all vibe of the shop was super laid back and everyone had a great sense of humor. I had made an appointment and Leo was ready for us when we got there. We are both in love with our tattoos. The line work is amazing and Leo was able to really capture what we wanted. Even though we were getting just little tattoos we were treated as well as any other customer, something other shops don't do. The prices were really reasonable, which was a big plus too. My sister and I went to Russ after researching several tattoo studios in Osage Beach, and we couldn't be happier with our choice! Russ was very professional and had a light hand. Dont get your tat done by Leo. He messed up my tat on my forearm. He couldn't draw what I wanted exactly. He had to redraw it at least 10x. He couldn't get it right so I had to draw it myself. And he was getting mad cause he couldn't get it right. So I had to, like c'mon your a tattoo artist and I had to draw it for you. After he got done tatting my forearm, I paid him and put an extra 20 bucks for tip. While he was counting the money he knew there was an extra 20 bucks in there he didn't say anything, but put the money down and said ok like rush me out. Thinking I didn't know about the extra 20 bucks because I meant to give it to him as for tip. I was going to see if he was a good person and tell me there was an extra 20 bucks when I paid him. So I can tell him no that's your tip. But instead he act like I mistake and paid him extra. Lol I can tell he was money hungry. A week later I had to come back because I didn't like how he shade it and I told him that. So he just shaded my whole tattoo so he can be done with me so I can go. When he shade it he didn't blend it in or anything. He did it sloppy and now it's like a straight line of ink instead of shade. This shop was probably the worst costumer satisfaction for me. I wanted the owner Jared to fix my arm but he didn't want to. He act like he was so busy and booked when he wasn't. The owner did the first tattoo on my inner forearm and I loved it. And I came back for a second wanted him to do my forearm. Instead he told me that Leo will take care of me when I wanted the owner to do it. He said it's ok he's really good and I believe him so I let him. And all this happen when I trust him to do my forearm. Every time I look at my arm I regret it so bad because I can't get it remove or cover up. read more
