I had Tessa and re-booked with her for my next appointment in 6 weeks. The waxing is only as painful as it has to be (you are ripping hair off of your Britney, what else do you expect?) However, I've had a number of these done and found this one to be one of the least painful in my experience. It was quick - less than thirty minutes and more thorough than most places are. With a busy schedule, sometimes same day service is needed and I'm glad SMN can accommodate! I didn't want to wait so I went to SMN this time. I've been to SMN a few times since my initial review and the two times since my initial visit there was no skin broken/bleeding, but unfortunately today there was. I have sensitive skin, and skin is drier in the winter, but I've never had the skin broken when I've done waxing. The aesthetician put a salve on it to heal it quicker. I also signed up for a Bikini Extended and it was only a little more than the bikini area. When I told the aesthetician what I was looking for, she removed all the hair in front like I usually have-- I asked her what to request next time and she told me to request a Brazilian. She didn't charge me for the extra hair removal which was very nice. At the waxing center where I usually go a Bikini Full ($47) removes all the hair in front. A Brazilian at SMN is $60, so from a cost perspective, it seems like waxing is also the way for me to go. I don't like to leave less positive reviews but I think it's good for others to know if they're considering sugaring-- I really want to like it but so far it's been very painful and broken my skin 2/4 times. Maybe it's a better experience for people with less sensitive skin! Update: the healing balm seems to have worked as there hasn't been any irritation/pain from the area where the skin broke. It was just very painful in the moment, but there's been no lingering pain, which is good.

I can usually go at least 6-8 weeks without needing a wax with minimal tweezing maintenance in between. I seek expert help when I notice that my brows are slightly unsymmetrical in photos (see attached) and to the point that I don't know what to do to fix them. I recently moved to the Weymouth area and Kathie's proximity + glowing 5 star reviews suggested she'd be the right one to get me back on track. I requested an appointment here on Yelp and she responded within minutes giving me times to choose from. I saw her the next evening. It's never an easy feat when someone new is about to alter one of your most important facial features, but she made me feel comfortable right away by thoroughly explaining and showing via a mirror not only what she was going to do but also why. We also discussed my medical history that might affect the sensitivity of my skin. She brought out shape ideas that were hiding in my mismatched brows that open up my eyes and frame them even better than before. The result is attached, and I only fill them with powder.
