Many of my friends my age were already tapping into Botox and injections and whatnot, but I decided that wasn't for me. A friend told me about SB Skin and described it as 'pilates for your face'. I saw her the evening after her appointment and she was absolutely glowing. I booked an appointment fast, and then became a regular. Essentially, microcurrents work the muscles on your face and send signals to your face on how to 'hold' itself, if that makes sense. That's how I think of it. It's like... youth + glow rehab. After a few sessions, the 'tired' look was gone. It's like the sessions smoothed out the tiredness and left my skin glowing and looking younger. I now go for the maintenance and I love it. It felt very personal and tailored to me, and I never felt that she was rushing through any part of the process which I love. Extractions usually make me anxious, but Maya did such a great job hydrating and prepping my skin that when it was time, I wasn't worried at all! What I appreciate the most is that Angel doesn't push me to buy skincare products that she uses/has available. All of her suggestions are easily manageable and they work! She also has great insights into overall wellbeing and health that can help improve skin problems. Additionally, her facials and treatments are fairly priced compared to other spas in the Manhattan area. But you still receive an amazing, personalized facial! Also, I use a prescription strength retinoid and have had so many bad experiences in the past with other facialists who were too harsh on my skin. But Angel has always been very gentle with my skin and I have never experienced any irritation during or after my facial.
