It was a last minute appointment for me and I don't have a lot in my southern area due to all the previous sessions I had at other places. This is just a touch up after 10 years. So I didn't shave because it was last minute and didn't have time (pretty normal at most places to touch you up if you didn't), as you know we have to shave. So I asked my laser tech, she said you don't need to because this way she knows where it is. Big mistake trusting her that maybe she knew a new hack (?). It's been 2 weeks and nothing has happened except that she probably burned me (read online why you need to shave). I have never ever had hyper pigmentation but I was covered in red dots that are now gray. I'm pretty fair skin but I am a POC and it's crazy because I've always done the higher settings for any laser, whether it is IPL or hair removal. I don't know what the tech did. All the areas that I have hyperpigermentation or the pink/red burns are on areas I didn't have any hair. Then we hit the areas that do, she never shaved so it hurt extra bad and of course it doesn't hit the follicles, burnt, and I still have hair..... And I will say as someone that is from the 2nd densest big city after NYC, this was 5x what it cost back home. This is crazy, not only is it more expensive, it was done incorrectly, somehow I manage to get burned and none of the hair follicles were killed. It's upsetting that this store is operating and I TIPPED THEM. Never in my life had I ever have to tip anyone for laser and they ask for it here. SKIP AT ALL COST. TLDR: I'm a laser vet, said I didn't need to shave (quick google says they are wrong), something nothing worked/ineffective, I got burned, I have hyperpigmentation which has never happened, 5x other places in price, and they ask for tip (mildly unorthodox.. Finally ,at a last desperate attempt, I was able to speak to the manager Begum at this location, and she and her team have been nothing but phenomenal at helping to try and rectify the situation. They handled the communication with corporate to allow me to get the correct clinical assessment and treatment plan from their associated dermatologist in order to reverse the damage that was done by the other location. The scarring isn't gone yet and my entire summer will be spent with hiding under sleeved clothing (no bathing suits or strapless tops/dresses during post-pandemic summer - so sad and intolerable in this heat!!!), but at least I know the problem is being handled appropriately now. My experience with the SOHO location could have really soured me with this company as a whole, but I really appreciate how Begum and her team have really taken customer service up a notch and will continue to go be a customer (albeit only at the Flatiron location.) I decided to give it another try, but after the second session, I was left with a second-degree burn on my stomach, exactly the size of the treatment pad. What made it even worse was how the spa handled the situation. When I reported the burn, they told me to come in for an evaluation and assured me they would help. Instead, I was met with a rude and dismissive representative who was more interested in shifting blame than offering support. She insisted I sign a waiver saying I wouldn't hold them responsible, and kept repeating that the spa was not at fault -- even though the burn clearly came from their equipment during their treatment. It felt like they were more concerned with protecting themselves than helping a customer who was injured in their care. I was misled into thinking they would assist with the healing and hyperpigmentation -- only to be gaslit and told they wouldn't be helping me at all. So here I am, six months later: two truSculpt iD treatments, absolutely no visible results, and a permanent mark from a second-degree burn. I expected professionalism and accountability. Instead, I got negligence and hostility. Think twice before trusting your body to this place.

The receptionist held the money but didn't really say anything like "do you need change?" At one point, I thought she was expecting more money. After that, I noticed the tip envelopes and would use those after each session. No confusion. I did appreciate the fact that they didn't try to sell their own laser packages. They only asked if I had any other areas that I would like lasered and I was given a list of lasering pricing options. I liked the salon; it was aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The injector was also very careless and I bruised like never before. She even just felt sloppy and inexperienced. I'll never go back again. Nothing like the feeling of waking up with eye strain when your eyes should be relaxed! And the shape of my eyes is so terrible and embarrassing.
