New Beauty & Wellness - Cranial Sacral Therapy explained.

I suffer from chronic migraines. And when I received an email from New Beauty & Wellness that…read morereferenced Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) which is 'light touch' treatment for those with pain, stress, prior injuries, I booked immediately! And splurged for the 80 minute session. The next day I walked into the spa and was impressed with ambiance. However, that's all I was impressed with. Went downhill from there. Was taken almost 10 minutes late for my appointment. Then the person who worked on me took another 5 minutes or so to give overview of treatment as well as get my reasons for being there. The 'light touch' couldn't have been more literal. And it was more of an 'energy' Session in my opinion. And to top it off, she finished early. Major disappointment, Waste of money and time. While that was just one experience and treatment, I do remain skeptic. There is a new location in New Canaan. I'm likely to go there instead and perhaps I'll have better service.

Anyway, I went ahead and scheduled the 80 minute signature massage with Kelly McCaffrey yesterday and let's just say that I'm extremely happy that I did! This was the very first massage that I actually enjoyed from start to finish. Kelly did such an amazing job of relaxing my body, using the perfect pressure as to not hurt me...all while being extremely effective! I truly cannot recommend Kelly enough. I will definitely be back...probably sooner rather than later!

I LOVE Glowbar. This location looks so clean and new!…read more It was my first facial and my esthetician and I agreed on doing a peel for exfoliation, red-light therapy, and a hydration mask. I will be back!

I have been going to Glowbar for over 6 months now and am so happy with the results I've been…read moregetting. These facials are quick and get straight to the point since they're only 30 minutes. The estheticians focus on what your needs are whether it's dry skin, hyperpigmentation, acne etc. You are sent a brief survey before every appointment so that you can specify what you'd like the esthetician to focus on. I was SO glad when a location opened up near where I live because I've been following them on social media for a while and loved the concept. You walk in and check in on a tablet or with the receptionist and head to the wash bar to wash your face with a mild cleanser. How many times do you get a facial done when 20 minutes alone are just focused on cleansing?? Then there's a little waiting area and your esthetician will get you when they're ready. The esthetician will then go over again what you would like to focus on and if you have any specific concerns. They'll then do various peels, masks, cavitation, extractions, high frequency, blue/red light treatment and top you off with some sunscreen and lip balm. This location does not do derma-planing due to CT law but hopefully that will change soon! My skin has noticeably gotten better since I first started visiting. Every esthetician I've seen has been phenomenal and so helpful with tips and products I should look into without being pushy. The place itself is clean and very easy to find in downtown Westport with parking. In the lobby area there's an area where you can buy products if you like ranging from cleansers, sunscreens, to masks. Each facial area is private with little curtains for privacy, but just note that you may hear other peoples conversations. I don't mind that because the goal of Glowbar is to provide a quick facial - this isn't you're typical spa. The monthly membership is great because you get a discount on the facials and other small perks too. They'll send you reminders to make sure you set up an appointment because unfortunately the facials do not roll over so it's a use it or lose it policy, which I'm fine with because this is such a great monthly treat!

I was extremely exhausted as well and didn't feel right ; I was told I have keratosis and pustular rosacea and I believed it, upon getting my eye exam the other day my doctor said my eyelids were so clean there is no way I have rosacea or mites - with the rash still persistent on my lower lip line accompanied by what looked like a deep zit / bloody nose , I went to urgent care - I have MRSA - and staph infection of the left nostril and face. I was prescribed MRSA pills and cream, the rash is gone and my skin is 10 years younger and not gross and itchy from ivermectin - I had staph. Doctor failed to recognize staph.

I could understand having $100 admin fee for the aesthetic part of the business but when it comes to seeing a medical doctor for a regular annual skin check that is fully covered by insurance, there are just so many levels of cringe tied into this. Again, if the fee could be applied to the bill, I get it, but the fact that it is a nonrefundable fee that is never applied to any amount that you owe, makes no sense. They canceled my appointment an hour before I was due in the office because I wouldn't pay the fee. They allowed me to schedule the appointment even though I refuse to pay the fee, but didn't honor it on the day I was going in. It shows that the fee had nothing to do with a no-show concern since I was on my way. It made no sense. I definitely will not be doing business again with Westport dermatology.

I tried to make an appt to see Dr. Brownell for myself, my daughter and my mother. The receptionist…read moredid not return my email requests or voicemails. It took numerous attempts to get an appt booked. I only persisted at that point because I had gift certificates. By the way....this facility added sales tax to the certificates. For those of you who aren't aware, according to the CT State Dept of Revenue services, gift certificates are not subject to sales tax. Once we arrived at the appt, the receptionist did not properly schedule the service my daughter was looking for so there was no time after a one hour drive! When checking out, I paid with my credit card for me and my daughter. Neither, me, my Mom or my daughter were given a receipt. When we got home that day, we all contacted the receptionist and asked for our receipts. The receptionist then told me my credit card charge didn't go through (even though it did). I had evidence of this on my credit card statement. She said she would have to speak to Craig, the doctors husband who doubles as office manager. Craig contacted me the following week wanting my credit card number again! I declined and sent him the screen shot that my card was charged. About a week after receiving Botox, it set in with horrible results. My face was crooked. I sent Craig a picture. He said he would show it to Dr. Brownell and she would call me immediately. She never did. He also said he would email me a gift certificate as an apology. He never did. I have the text streams of these conversations with him as proof. After not hearing from Dr. Brownell regarding the terrible results, I decided to file a dispute. I needed to go to another practitioner to fix what she did. This facility has responded to the dispute with a pack of lies. Here they are: 1) They are saying I was rude and aggressive to the receptionist. Not true. I was more than patient given the receptionist was not competent in any of her interactions with me. 2) They are saying Dr. Brownell called me 2 times to discuss the bad results. Not true. 3) They are saying I blocked their number. Again, not true. 4) They sent a picture to the credit card company of my forehead without squinting indicating that the treatment was successful. This is misleading as Botox can take at least a week to kick in. 5) They have the audacity to accuse me of "Theft of Medical Services" which is a "larceny". Shame on Dr. Brownell or perhaps it was her narcissistic husband for stooping this low. I was unhappy with results and she never called to discuss so after a couple of weeks of waiting I filed a dispute. That makes me a thief? How unprofessional! The above-mentioned visit I've described was a comedy of errors from beginning to end. For the high prices they charge, clients should certainly be able to expect to have a pleasurable experience. If I could give less than one star, I would.
