WORST restaurant experience ever. Rude staff that accused me of cussing out the waitress, when I nicely said my order was wrong. (So then that waitress went back and told the manager I cussed her out, which I would never do.) So then I had the manager coming up to our table, causing a scene saying that I cussed out her waitress. Left a $20 bill on the table for alcohol and left, and then had all of the staff members CHASE us outside saying we didn't pay. THEN they asked my friend what the "drama" was between her and another staff member. Very unprofessional. Not everyone can be pretty and honest. To our waitress, I hope you find happiness in life. i had heard wonderful things about this restaurant, so we decided to try it out. Loved that it's in an old hotel. Liked the decor. However, waitress was rude and not helpful. I asked about their morning adult drink menu since it wasn't listed on menu we were given. (Saw it on their website.). She just looked at me. Didn't offer to tell us how to order one. We order water, coffee and orange juice. Order our meals when she came back with our drinks. Meals came. Food was great. Waitress never came back to check if we needed more coffee or water. Just dropped off bill. We did go have a drink in the bar. Tre was great! Showed us how to order the drinks. Told a little of the history of the building. We will give it another try because of the food. Just hope we get better wait staff. read more

The building and layout was very pretty, and the menu looked good, but that's about all I can say positive about it. We waited 15 minutes for someone to great us before we decided to leave. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but they weren't busy, all of the servers we saw were either on their phone or talking. We discovered this amazing place on Easter Sunday after church. They are SO good that they're only open 3days/week. Everything we tried was simply divine: Deviled eggs with fried lobster, the King Bene, and two tropical mimosas. The service was fairly prompt for being so busy. We were thoroughly impressed and plan to try the Bananas Foster pancakes, Ribeye pork chop, Shrimp & grits and maybe the brisket. GOOD MORNING GORGEOUS is a drink we've simply must try on our next visit. The price is reasonable and they even offer kid's meals. You really can't go wrong choosing Skillet Junction. read more

I'm giving this a 3, ONLY because our service wasn't the best. We arrived at 11:20 am, and are now only just leaving at 2pm. We were told it would be a 30minute wait so we added our names to the list (granted it IS Father's Day but we figured out we were quoted 30 minutes we will expect about 45ish). No problem, we grabbed mimosas and sat on the porch with the kids. 1 hour later at 12:20 we were finally seated. Our waitress promptly took our drink order and appetizer order. We ordered the boozy biscuits and tropical fried green tomatoes, then we both ordered a bar drink (he got the black panther, I got a Bloody Mary). 30 minutes later we finally get our one appetizer, (the tomatoes) but never got the biscuits because of a miscommunication with the server and my husband... fine, again, no biggie. After sitting for a few with empty waters our waitress finally refills them and then another worker asked her if she would like her to bring us our bar drinks (finally). They were good, the black panther tastes like a blueberry dumdum which I felt was delicious, and the Bloody Mary was a standard drink. Another 30 minutes pass and we finally get our food. 1:00 pm and my kids are starving and inhale their food, but the kicker, food came out almost in 5 min increments. Littles had pancake and bacon, my oldest had three sweet cream pancakes, husband had lemon mascarpone pancakes and then shrimp and grits, middle had chicken and waffles, and I had crawfish Mac n cheese. Food was very very good. No complaints whatsoever on the food, it was delicious, well seasoned, and we cleaned our plates (minus the shrimp and grits we took what was left home). Then comes the wait again for our check, two boxes, and then to actually pay. What frustrates me the MOST is we have a family of 6 (2 adults , 4 kids) and were automatically added gratuity to our ticket because "our party size". I think if our party size is majority children then we should be able to determine gratuity! Whatever. Bad experience with service, great experience with food. Won't be back unless we find time to carve out about 2.5 - 3 hours of our schedule to eat there read more

Friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Food was very good. We didn't have to wait to be seated. We got there around 12:30 pm a Friday.

The food was good. The biscuits and jelly flight was yummy-- but came out on a long rectangle black plate that definitely had not been washed. Service was beyond slow, and no one looked rushed or worried. We got a drink at the bar while waiting for our table and it took about 20 minutes to finally get it. The food is fabulous. Everything is tasty and seasoned delicious . The lobster deviled eggs are especially great. Not something you would think of but don't pass them up. The biscuits are perfectly southern . There are jellies and jams that I know are homemade . Jackson needs a place like this.
