I've gotten ripped off by some companies, so turn to an electrician I trust (Aaron Phillips) to see if he could resolve a furnace problem. He said it sounded like I needed a good furnace guy & recommended Ski Air. They sent out a technician named Daniel who diagnosed the problem as a circuit board in the unit. It is an older system so had to special order it & when it arrived they returned. The are friendly, came on time & vacuumed up after they finished. The problem was resolved at a reasonable price & they will now be my "go to" for HVAC issues. They have my highest recommendation read more

Hi Travis! I do appreciate you taking the time to respond, but it is a flat out lie to say there was no yelling, aggression, or profanity in the visit. The man I spoke to on the phone even apologized for the technicians' out-of-control cussing and profanity. We have cameras in our house that picked up the entire interaction as well. I have no interest in furthering a conversation with a dishonest company, as it seems pointless. I did feel the need to respond here and caution any of your future customers of this experience. However, if you'd like to reach back out to me and sincerely apologize for not only the aggressive technician interaction, but also for blatantly lying via Yelp to try and save face, I would welcome it! Now, for those new to our community or those that have never had a need for experts on heating and air. I recommend These folks with the highest regards. I have sent this Outstanding recommendation a few months back but, now with winter here, I am honestly compelled to reintroduce them. They saved me, thousands and I mean thousands.. 3 other companies gave me bids from 13,000 to 16,000 dollars, telling me, they had to replace my old unit... but, indeed that was definitely untrue. I called the HEAP program to see if they could help. They sent Ryan to check my unit and I swear, he was so very helpful and intelligent about my unit. He informed me that my unit didn't need to be replaced and he could fix it. Within a month Ryan n his partner Daniel came out and completely brought my unit back , up and running.. I called Ski Air because our AC had been underperforming since we bought our house (80 degrees inside at six pm!?). We have had a very difficult time finding anyone to come out to us, as we are pretty rural. Ski Air not only fit us in, on the day, they saw us early. Our technician, Victor, was efficient and friendly. He did everything in a speedy way and seriously saved our summer by fixing our AC right up. I needed a chiller, heater and humidifier installed for a new winery we are starting up here in the Fairplay AVA. Not long after I called for a quote I was contacted by Travis, who scheduled a time to come visit and look at our facility. Travis arrived at the agreed upon date, on time. We went over the scope of work, with Travis offering several helpful suggestions. Not long after that I received a quote via email. Their price was reasonable and fair and after reviewing the quote we selected Ski Air to do our project. Not long after that they finished the engineering and equipment ordering, they showed up at our facility to do the work. Ski Air's foreman, Shaun, was exceptional. Their crew and subs did great work. I was told every day of the job what their goals were and at the end of every day they cleaned up and even put their ladders away safely. They also let me know when they would be back again. We had no trouble getting our operating permit from the county inspector and the system they installed has exceeded my expectations. I have worked with a lot of contractors over the years and have to say few can match the quality, customer experience and professionalism I had with Ski Air. As much as I liked Ski Air I do believe that they are overpriced. The work on my Swamp Cooler was as follows: replace pump and replace the filters. The total bill was approximately $525. I do not feel that this is fair pricing and they do not give a Senior discount for those of us on a fixed income. I was told that they would look into a discount, but none was given. read more

These guys are OK (albeit pricey) if something is physically broken that can be verified by visual inspection, but they clearly have no diagnostic skills, or equipment, or both. They also don't stand behind their repairs. Case in point: Last year, the furnace developed an intermittent problem where the call to heat would occasionally not ignite the burner. Instead, it would just blow cold air. I scheduled a service call /diagnostic, and I was told the results of that diagnostic was a malfunctioning flame sensor. Not having any real knowledge of that device st the time, I approved a $197.80 fee for replacing it. Except a proper diagnostic was not done. Instead, a cursory visual inspection indicated some corrosion/carbon deposits at the tip of a $15 part, and a guess was made that this was the cause of the problem. A proper diagnostic would have involved putting a meter in series with the flame sensor circuit to measure the current flow to see if the sensor's output was within specification. So I spent $287.80 to replace a 15 dollar part that was not the cause of the problem. The following March the furnace was at the point where I couldn't get heat at all. As I mentioned above, this has been an intermittent issue for quite a number of months. Another diagnostic was scheduled. Same tech rolled on it and the results of this diagnostic was again a guess based on a cursory visual inspection... some debris in the end of tube connected to the pressure sensor. I was then told that if that fix didn't stick, the next guess was to replace the switch for another $207. Why was no diagnostic done? The switch can be tested with an ohm meter. The vacuum the inducer creates can be measured with a manometer. Seems to me that proper diagnostics would have ruled out all of the above guesses and made it clear to the tech to look elsewhere, saving me the better part of five hundred bucks. The third time around I asked for a different tech. This one discovered the call for heat indicator was not lighting on the control board when the termostat called for heat. So another 470 bucks to replace a $110 control board, and no adjustment credited for the previously misdiagnosed repair attempts. And if you don't want them throwing darts with a blindfold on in your case, maybe look elsewhere too. read more

This is a horrible company, they never fixed the problem but had no problem charging me, and wanted to charge me again to come out and look at the problem they never fixed. One word...phenomenal! After messing around with my home warranty for months and getting nowhere, I decided to call Ski. Travis came out that day and gave me an estimate on HVAC replacement. He gave several options on how to move forward, even if I didn't want to replace it. Everything I was told from a previous company was not accurate, and I was dealing with constant problems that were not getting fixed. Ski had my new system ordered and installed in record time! I am so relieved and pleased with this company's service and integrity! I highly recommend them to anyone who is experiencing heating/cooling issues. It is such a relief to have a company who works efficiently and didn't try to upsell me on the product. They understood my need and it was met. HORRIBLE COMPANY! DO NOT USE!! They have been out 3 times without fixing our air. Horrible customer service. Threatened collections even though our air was still out. I called Ski Air to schedule a diagnostic appointment at a rental (for $99.00). I asked to be called when the technician diagnosed the problem and let me know what it was or how much the repair would be. No one called me but my tenant said they showed up and fixed it. I thought that was very strange and assumed that it must have been within the $99.00 fee since no one called and spoke with me. I just received a bill in the mail for $449.65, $99.00 diagnostic fee and a $350.65 charge for a 60/5MFD run capacitor, which is a small battery around $5.00!!!! I called and spoke with the secretary or whomever answered the phone and she said they had a "flat rate" charge and wouldn't disclose a by the hour fee. This probably took him 5 minutes and $5.00 to fix. What a hose job!! She did agree I should have been called and proceeded to tell me that if I didn't want to pay the bill, they would go back out and remove the part.. how very considerate of them...... don't call this company unless you want to pay an arm and a leg! read more

Don't ever use this company!!!!. Had a problem with my heater running but not blowing air, had them come out in Feb. Paid $342.00 to have it fixed. Started doing the same thing again not even a year later. Called to make an appointment, they never showed up the first time, rescheduled for a "set" time, the technician was 25 minutes late and rude when he showed up. Looked at my unit tried to charge me another $78. Then tracked mud all over my carpet, which the office staff said was my fault, I should have had him take his shoes off. I didn't even know he was in my house, he just walked in and all the way to the back of my house were I was, didn't bother knocking, I turned around and there he was, scared the crap out of me. When I called the office to complain they didn't seem to care, told me to take them off my list, as they were going to take me off theirs. My unit still isn't working.
