I've never been a purse girl. I never got the appeal. Until…read moreI had a mental image of the perfect purse - nylon with leather handles. Classic, durable, and in a beautiful color. Well turns out I had imagined a Dooney Bag. I thought they were always bags with their logo tackily splashed all over. They have a great variety of beautiful leather and nylon bags without the logo overload. Plus some also have a logo of a duck, which appeals to the Mainer in me. Anyways, this store specifically, the Freeport outlet store, has amazing deals. The merchandise appears to be the same as what is currently in Macys. (Unlike the competing designer purse store in the area which is a different line of cheaper stuff). I can't say that for sure of course, but I had almost ordered the exact same purse, down to the stitch, off the Macys website a few weeks earlier. I have snagged 3 purses, a $40 crossbody, a $60 duffel which I used on a 4 day weekend trip (marked down from $200!), and my envisioned $90 nylon/leather handled blue purse. I love them all and now I think I have turned myself into a purse girl.

Horrible customer service and return policy, go somewhere else. Item shipped before any response to claim, now $10 to return plus all of the hassle, never again, lots better companies out there. I feel like the no access to order and delay were a very intentional way of screwing the customer.

Located in the main outlet shopping area, this store sells locally-produced merchandise and crafts from 20-25 vendors. You'll find everything from t-shirts to books to syrup to soap, as well as my personal favorite, Christmas ornaments. Every vacation , I buy a Christmas ornament, and with so many booths in this market, I found several to choose from and left with a cute lobster ornament. The crafts here are unique and much better than what you'll find in the airport or some of the stores in nearby Portland. I'm glad we found it on our first day and I got my shopping knocked out early in our trip!

It's sort of like Etsy, but in a brick and mortar form. The Freeport Market is exactly the same concept where locals can rent space and display their items for sale. I forgot to mention all the items are "Maine Made" which I believe has to be requirement. I didn't speak with any staff so I can't speak to the customer service. You don't see them walking around much, but standing near the counter. The value for the items will vary as the renter sets the price for their items. Some look for a premium price on their items, other's look for a reasonable price understanding what the market says for those types of items. If you are looking for Maine made items and willing to pay a premium price on them, this store is for you, but you can typically get the items cheaper through their website or at a local craft fair.

**A Miami, FL, Client who is Proud to Call the Freeport, ME, Allen Edmonds Outlet his "Local"…read moreStore.** Despite living in Miami, FL, Allen Edmonds of Freeport, ME, will always be my "local" store--thanks to my experience with the unparalleled Laney Johnson. I wish all of my interactions were as seamless, professional, and enjoyable, as transacting business with Laney. Perhaps a bit of background will better illustrate my enthusiasm. I have always admired AE's timeless quality, comfort, and aesthetic, and could not pass up on the deals available in AE's recent tent sale. But, this being my first purchase of AE shoes, I had very little, if any, knowledge of my foot's fit relative to a 5 last. A master shoe fitting would have been ideal, but, with the end of not disparaging, while giving praise to another, my circumstances effectively required me to take a leap of faith regarding the last's fit on my foot and principally rely upon objective criteria from a Brannock device. I enthusiastically dialed AE's Freeport Outlet. Laney answered the phone after two rings and processed my entire order within 6 minutes--impressive! I ordered a pair of 8D Walnut Strands and Black Park Avenues, and two AE aromatic cedar shoetrees. The shoes arrived in five business days from Port Washington, and the entire experience was perfect--well, except for my foot not fitting the 5 last in 8D. Feeling a bit defeated, but optimistic, I called Laney. As always, she was professional and sympathetic about my situation. She sent me a return label, took my order for two pairs of 7.5Ds, and, upon the returned shoes' arrival in Freeport, processed my exchange. Presumably the 7.5Ds would fit, right? Fast-forward three weeks later, after three orders placed, three exchanges processed, three pairs that did not fit my oddly shaped foot, and consistently exceptional service from Laney, I finally found a perfect fit--7EE. AE sartorial veterans and neophytes alike need to take further notice of Laney Johnson, and the world-class experience she delivers to her clients daily. Despite crafting some of the best shoes available on the market, what will make me an AE customer for life is my experience with Laney. Thank you, Laney!
