A kid at another skate park told us about this place. It is big! It is fully outside behind Ross…read moreNorton Rec Center. It is $2 each. Helmets are required but it looks like they have some to rent or borrow if you forget. It is open when he rec center is open. The entrance is through the rec center. There are designated bike days. He guy at the counter was nice enough to let my 5 year old ride his this morning since we were the only ones there. He said if somebody else came he would have to go to a skateboard or scooter like my other two kids. He also told me that the room out there was open. There is a room with big windows that look out to the skate park. It has tables, chairs, and a rack of books including a board book or two through Harry Potter books. It is air conditioned! We sat outside in the shade too. It has bathrooms and water fountains. There is a public pool there too with lap lanes as well as a splash pad area. We didn't go. My kids say it is smooth on the ramps and they loved it. I felt comfortable leaving the older boys there while I took the younger kids around the lake on the paved trail. The trail doesn't go all the way around the lake but it is all beautiful nonetheless. There is also a playground in walking distance we could try some time with my youngest. There is a vending machine too. My kids could basically live there :)

Update: As of March 2021, this skate park is closed until further notice. There is currently no…read moreindication whether there will be repairs and the park re-opened or if the park will be closing for good. - Hours are M-F 2p-9p, Sat 10a-5p, Sun 12p-5p. It costs $2 to enter and helmets are required. The skatepark NEEDS people to visit so the City of Clearwater doesn't shut it down. At over 25k square feet, this is one of the largest skatepark areas in the Tampa Bay area (only St. Pete Regional is larger). The skatepark definitely needs some maintenance. Two of the structures (half-pipe and funbox) are fenced off and closed due to wear/tear. There are still several ramps and quarter pipes of varying heights, rails, steps and more. For beginners there is a LOT of open flat space to simply skate around on, and that space is also great for practicing tricks as well. There are food and drink vending machines, clean bathrooms and a seating area for parents/friends to sit and watch or relax. If you're anywhere near, definitely come visit and help keep this place open.

The outside border of the park is lined with a walking/running path and has multiple stops along the way with a different activity or piece of equipment to workout on. It's a great way to catch some Florida sun, get your sweat on, and burn some calories! When it gets too hot, they have the Spicola Family pool to cool off in, or continue your exercise with some laps, which the pool accommodates as well. The pool is perfect for little ones, with a walk-in to 2.5ft area, that includes 5 splash fountains, a giant, freestanding waterfall, and a water slide for teeny tots, as well as a water slide for the older kids the dumps in the deeper section of the pool. Unfortunately our much loved visit was the last weekend the pool was open, as it is a seasonal location. We can't wait to go back when it re-opens! In the meantime we will go back and enjoy the big playground, and picnic in the one of many picnic tables around the park, some even right on the water! One thing I do want to mention, that I thought was SO BEAUTIFUL, is the playground that is wheelchair accessible. Not just around the outside, but an actual ramp that goes from the sidewalk and through the whole jungle gym allowing a wheelchair bound child to have the same experience, that alone was 5-Star to me! All around great experience, and excellent place for the family!

Nice green space along the waterfront in a very urban setting. It was nice to see so many people…read moreenjoying it. Lots of fisherman, families and even saw a young couple having a picnic date. The facilities look to be pretty well maintained.
