I found it by accident and decided to stop in with my grandson. You have to park on a side street because the streets surrounding the park have no parking signs. The park has several basketball courts, skate park, playground, swing sets and areas for volleyball, racquetball and soccer. During my visit only two small children were playing in the entire park so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. In the playground area they have a sign displayed stating that the area is for ages 5 to 12 yrs. I felt like there was lots of save space for younger children under supervision. There is a picnic area with some seating and a grill. Dogs are allowed on a leash. I did not see a waste station or disposable bags.

It was very informational and neat to see a little piece of history. Once we were done there we got on the Bridge walkway. We did not realize how long the Park Trail was, which is 17 miles! We decided we are going to rent some bikes when it gets a little warmer and try our hand at finishing the path. However, we did walk some of it though, and it was beautiful. This property once contained more than 2,000 citrus trees before the City of Orlando purchased the land in the 1970s under Mayor Carl Langford. It officially opened as Turkey Lake Park in 1978 with the mission of conserving land in its natural state for residents as Orlando's tourism industry rapidly expanded. In 1981, many of the remaining orange trees were relocated to make room for a campground featuring RV sites and cabins. The park was renamed Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake in 2004 to honor former Orlando Mayor Bill Frederick for his commitment to preserving Orlando's natural spaces. Along with former Mayor Glenda E. Hood, he helped ensure the beauty of this park would be preserved for future generations. Today, the park is the City of Orlando's largest community park. Turkey Lake is considered one of Florida's top rated fishing lakes, making it a popular destination for anglers. Beyond the lake, there are miles of walking and biking trails, shaded picnic areas, playgrounds, fitness stations, sand volleyball courts, a seasonal swimming pool, boat rentals, a dedicated drone flying area, disc golf, and numerous pavilions for gatherings. The campground offers RV sites and cabins for overnight excursions surrounded by nature. Admission is a nominal $5 per vehicle or $2 for a single occupant, making it one of the best recreational values in Orlando. Come for a picnic, to swim, cast a line, visit the rescue animals, or hike the trails as I enjoyed doing. Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake is a reminder that Orlando offers more than just theme parks. There are several facilities available including pavilions, grills, disc golf volleyball, playgrounds, swimming, fishing, and even a drone course. There's a bike path, a nature path and a small animal farm where you can see a turkey, chickens, and maybe a variety of other animals. There are cabins (assuming for rent) and a spot for small RVs and trailers. The park includes several restrooms which are very clean. The disc golf course is extensive and likely a bit difficult as it meanders through several wooded areas and even one hole across the water. The park has several pavilions varying in size. Most have parking nearby, however several will require you to hoof your goods a little distance. This is a great place for a family or larger gathering. Two dollar entry fee. Dogs allowed on leash and there are several pet sanitary stations.

Like are you serious? And we demanded to speak to the owner and she didn't want to call the owner , but only handed over 2 complimentary vouchers for next time! It's a matter of principle and we were owed $12 bucks yes not a big deal but it's all about ethics! Yes, you did hear me correctly... they have an ice skating rink here! Enter into the "Do you wanna build a snowman?" area and you'll find real ice everywhere along with buckets and shovels to help gather the snow. I saw this done once and just afterwards, a couple of Arendelle citizens (a young man and woman) come out on the ice and skated for approximately 10 minutes. They are professional skaters and they skate along as a pair to some of the popular songs from Frozen. This is not listed in any of the guides, etc. Imagine my surprise when they hit the ice! I was excited to be there while this was going on. It was great to be able to watch! I absolutely love watching figure skating. You'll also find Olaf's snack stand inside here. Lots of yummy goodies! The one on top of the Anna cupcake is also white chocolate. I did take a photo of Olaf's cupcake, but I can't for the life of me remember if he is white chocolate or a marshmallow or what.
