Got new roller skates for Christmas and was beyond pumped to try them out. So, I finally convinced a friend to join me for Retro Night at Skate City on Tuesday, 8 to 11 PM, where they spin all the best 70s, 80s, and 90s jams. The cost? $11. I laced up those beauties and skated like a pro--no falls, no wobbles, just pure smooth moves...for a solid two hours. Then I took a break to chat by the wall, and wouldn't you know it, that's when gravity reminded me who's boss. Down I went, wrist first. Yep, broken wrist and surgery two days later. But honestly? Totally worth it. The music was blasting, the vibes were immaculate, and for a couple of hours, I was living my best retro dream. Once this wrist heals and I get myself a brace, you better believe I'll be back rolling and rocking those skates. Skate City's Retro Night = a blast. I recently had my daughter's birthday party here and everything was great. We had our own host and she was great. She helped with every single thing, which was extremely helpful. The food was good too. My daughter and I went back to skate the other day and had another good experience. Just a couple things, I wish the people that worked there knew more about the actual skates. I had a couple questions about the inlines I rented and they had no clue. Also, there's a part of the rink that needs some repair. Just minor things. This is a really fun place and my daughter can't wait to go back. read more

so disappointed. i've been going to skate city for years, specifically on adult night. i had my two adult friends in from italy for one week. not planning on being carded at the door because that has never happened there! especially being as old as we are. i'm not questioning the policy but the way the man working handled it was so distasteful. didn't hear us out even knowing our situation and excitement. read more

Good Ole fashioned fun. I had never been here before, but for a friend's birthday party we rented out the rink at 10:30pm-midnight for ourselves to have some adult fun. The don't have liquor license, so if you want to rent the space for an adult function it would probably be fun to grab drinks and dinner beforehand- food here is limited to pizza and hot dogs. We had a great time pretending to be kids and zooming around the rink. The staff was in clean up mode the whole time we were there but indulged us in fun games like limbo and such. We were allowed to use our own playlist for music. I could see this as a really fun family friendly spot as well. When we arrived, they were clearing out a teenager event going on and about 100 teens skating and hanging out on a Friday night. Good to see them having fun! read more

Nice place to kill a few hours while waiting for family. They have a nice skating rink. Two kids plus rental skates was around $13. The common area was relatively clean. The music and lights made everything lively. There's also a small entertainment center to the side with some electronic games, food stand, and climbing course. This place is literally a throwback to the 80's (not that I would know). We came here for a private party and the whole venue was blocked out just for us. What makes it even more fun was that we were all dressed in 80s outfits. Everyone had a great time, especially the kids. The only thing missing is drinks so don't forget to pregame. :) read more

Had fun considering it's the only roller skate place left. Good music and fun lights. The price was a little high and the building and skates haven't been updated maybe ever (even though that might be part of the charm). Downside is we went on Adult Night and there was a group of older people that act like professionals and look down on all the rookies that can't skate well. I'm glad they improved the floor, but I'm so disappointed they raised the price of the play area from $1 to $4! What an outrageous price increase for the exact same play area! We pay for all my kids to skate, but my 4 year old only makes it a few times around before she is exhausted. It was nice to let her go to the play area while the bigger kids can continue to skate. read more

Wanted to get out the house on Saturday mid afternoon and have some fun due to COVID. Prices were cheap, music was good, was a little hot inside (should've worn shorts lol). I would return on adult theme retro night, due to the amount of kids that were present. read more

Good prices for family fun but the rink is rough from damage and age. But we decided to try their summer day camp for the kids because they thought they would really enjoy it. But it ended up being an expensive way to make my kids miserable. Dave is a complete and utter douche and unfortunately has way to much contact with the children. The kids are forced to skate for 2 hours straight, no breaks allowed (unless they can buy their way out of it by paying for arcade games and snack bar). I dont know about everyone else but I cant skate for 2 hours straight without a break. My kids forgot a utensil one day and when they asked Dave for a plastic one they he told them no and to eat it with their hands (it was an enchilada). We confronted dave and he didnt just deny it but kept trying to lie his way out of every question by telling some completely irrelevant story. At that point I realized this man is a danger to children and pulled my kids right away. Dave also insulted my kids to their face for asking to go back inside during "outside time" because it was 105F and their outside time was a black top parking lot. That is negligent. If you care about your kids, find a better place. On a positive it is ok during normal skating hours, old and rough but ok for price. The negatives came from the daycamp/daycare. read more

Good, old fashioned family fun. What makes this place great is the fact that it's old school. No fancy arcades, bounce houses, or what-have-yous. This is the purists skating rink. We had my daughter's birthday party here, and for having multiple parties at the same time, they did a great job of accommodating and keeping things moving along. Also, they gave my daughter a brand new pair of roller skates, out of the box for her to take home after the party. For 10 kids and moms and dads to skate without having to worry about rowdy, overcrowded rinks, this was the best bang for our buck. Besides the birthday party, we have been on weeknights just for some cheap fun, or a school event. I love how involved in the community Skate City is! I'm so glad there is a place like this for my kids to go to in Bellevue. Oh, and did I mention ski ball?!?! Yeehaw......this place is the best! read more

If I could give no stars I would. This place is crap. Zero care about the kids. The last three Friday's there has been theft and stealing. The managers on duty do NOTHING about it at all!! Tonight my daughter was there and her shoes were stolen within the hour. HER SHOES!!! Seven other kids also said their shoes were stolen, cell phones, hats and other things!! What kind of place is this???? How can you let other people steal other kids things. Zero care. Zero anything. read more

Very good skating facility. The staff was very friendly too; my wallet fell out of my pocket when I wiped out without my noticing. As I was leaving, one of the workers came running over to return it. The music was okay, but the dj was hardly understandable through the speakers. Also, we went on a Friday night, and it was packed with middle schoolers. If you're looking for a more leisurely pace, I would recommend going during the week. read more

My 8 year old chose to have a roller skating party for his birthday; this was our first time at the rink and we LOVED it! Great people running the show and a fantastic rink that is all about skating. Pretty clean and nice rink, have adult nights thursday from 8-10, and blacklight skating on sat nights. Pretty cheap too, good way to get some exercise, and have fun for pretty cheap read more

Nice place for the kids to skate. You don't feel nervous about leaving the kids there for an evening. Nice staff and good snack bar. Seems like I have to re-learn how to skate each time I go. read more
