We had an amazing time at the Halloween Skate at Astro Skate Center this past Sunday. The manager Amber personally helped my wife pick out a new pair of skates and we could not have been happier. Amber stopped what she was doing to help us and took the time to explain the differences in skates. She was very personable and professional and is a true ambassador to Astro Skate Center. It's because of her and being valued as a customer that we will return. This is an amazing place, it's not only kids but adults as well. I highly recommend this place as a family event or for date night as you won't be disappointed! It was well staffed and a safe place to let the kids run wild. It's disappointing that they don't have skating for everyone every night. Came on a Friday which was kids night without me realizing it. It was true to its name and were literally just little kids skating. It wouldn't have been as bad if they were skating in the normal direction but they weren't. Instead of skating in a circle, they skating in an up & down direction. My friend and I stayed for 5mins before we decided to leave. Luckily they were nice enough to refund us without a problem. Later I saw that adult night is only In Saturdays for two hours. This is so limiting. Unfortunately Daytona is a small town so there aren't a lot of other options unless you drive to Orlando. read more

What a blast!!!! The only reason I didn't give them a 5, was because we didn't try their food. I will update if/when we eat there. We were there on a homeschool fieldtrip on a Wed afternoon. Went for a kid's birthday party so I'm glad I only had to rent skates. The place smells bad and the private neon room for the party was worst than the whole place. My allergies to mold and dust started flaring up my asthma. This will be a hard pass for my kids' party this year. I loved skating and the places I went never smelled like a men's locker room that's been left alone. read more

I was very disappointed when I took my daughter to skate. I mistakenly thought that since the business was open that they would be following safety protocols by requiring customers to try to safely distance and wear masks. In reality the place was extremely overcrowded with at least 4 birthday parties occurring simultaneously and a crush of others. Only a very few customers were wearing masks. My daughter and I left after we saw what was happening. This is a super spreader event waiting to happen. read more

I attended my 10 yr old niece's birthday party and I was so impressed! The place was very clean, looked and seemed brand new to me! Beautiful. I would've taken a star away because it's Saturday and there are paid birthday parties throughout, all the tables were set up very well btw, but there was lack of the piping,safety rolling things that kids use to help balance themselves while having skates on. Another family and ours came between minutes apart to rent the gadget for our children. Long story short, the manager Jasmine, what a pretty girl btw, she was so professional, kind, very understanding, listened and explained to both of our families, the situation. She gave you the feeling like she genuinely cared and wanted resolution. It may have been that the family that just walked in, purchased the thing 2 min before ours, but we had been there for at least an 1 1/2 for our birthday party. I also talked to a women that was leaving to work and wanted to leave it with me so we went up to turn it in and re rent it. Jasmine was excellent. The other family was so classy and understanding. It worked out very well. I would highly recommend this place. read more

There are very few places in the area that does what Skate and Shake does for child care. If it weren't for them and their flexibility I would have no place to send my children during special weeks in the year like spring break and the last week of summer. read more

I want to love this place, but the "moderators" on the floor are so dangerous. I thought their job would be to help create a safer environment, however it seems that they are intent on making it more dangerous for all skaters. I write this review after watching them and a couple other great skaters chasing each other over a hat and cause three little kids to fall because they are moving at such high speeds around them. read more

Safe, clean, PHENOMENAL FUN!!! Very friendly and attentive staff. :D Attended a birthday skate party with friends--we're all adults; the youngest of which will turn 50 soon! Lol! What GREAT FUN! The place was busy with kiddie skate parties and teens, most adults (except our group) hugging the sidelines. A great way to stay fit, have fun, and not throw away a ton of money at a stinky gym. This was the worst place I have ever been to. The service was terrible, the staff was rude, and even pushed down my child, who then broke his arm. I promptly told them not to speak to me or my son ever again. They threw me out, saying I was being obstructive to their business, when it was they who were harming their business. DO NOT send your kids to this rink, look for others in the area, would not recommend. Would rate zero stars but that is not an option. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I have roller skated for a very long time and been to many skating rinks over the years. If your looking for a trip to the ER than this is the place for you. The facility itself was very typical of a skating rink and fine overall, but the equipment was DANGEROUS! They really need to invest some money in new skates rather than lighting! They need to have people in the rental area that can actually maintain the skates. We had to try several pairs of skates on before getting a pair that wasn't broken or missing wheels (yes.....missing wheels). One pair given to us was a pair of roller blades with one skate having 3 instead of 4 wheels. During the skate session my 8 year old daughters wheel actually fell off. We are all very lucky she is a skilled skater and wasn't injured. I alerted and spoke with the manager who seemed unconcerned, even with the fact that the nut and bolt were still on the rink. After getting her ANOTHER new pair I asked the girl working the rink if they had found the pieces and they hadn't. I had to recommend them turning the lights on to find the bolts so that no one else in the facility would be injured. They were rude and unaccommodating and not apologetic. read more
