Nick and Tyler were GREAT with the installation. I wish the company kept a more open line of communication during the whole process. We waited almost two months for the installation of our fence. At times I felt like we had been ghosted after we signed the install agreement. The fence IS great but I'm not sure I would use the company again because of the lack of, well, communication. read more

SK Exteriors did a fantastic job with my fence installation. The process to get a quote was quick and easy. The contract was a breeze. The installers couldn't have been any nicer (they each gave my dogs a few pats on the head and ear scratches). And the finished product is absolutely amazing. There is a reason why almost every fence in my neighborhood is done by SK Exteriors. I was not pleased with my experience with SK Exteriors. The work was mostly good, but the communication was very poor. I hired them to install gutters on my house and was told that they would most likely do the job during the second week of June. No one came out until early July. I understand that delays occur, but no one contacted me once to let me know. The only way I ever found out anything about the delays was by reaching out to them. Furthermore, on two different occasions, I e-mailed SK about the fact that no one had come out. Both times, I was told that workers would come to do the job that week, and both times no one came out. It was only by repeatedly pestering them that I ever got work done on my house. In early July, a worker was sent to my house to start putting up fascia boards, but no one at SK had explained the specifics of the job to him, so he couldn't do the job. He came back a week later and put the fascia boards up. Then two more weeks passed with no communication and no gutters. Finally, on July 21, the gutters were installed on my house. The work looked good except they didn't follow one of the locations we had discussed about a downspout. I'm not going to bother to have them adjust it, though, because it's not worth the hassle of trying to communicate with them. read more

Needed a simple insurance quote for wind damage on a garage. Called and scheduled an appointment two days in advance. On the day of the appointment, I got an email from Matt telling me that he is too busy to come out to his scheduled appointment with me and give me this quote since they know that they are not getting this job. Now, I have to take time from my busy schedule and take another day off of work to find another company to do this quote. Matt needs to learn about customer service because when this existing garage gets replaced after the insurance claim is finallized I will NOT be calling SK to do the siding work on the new bigger garage that is going up in its place since he is too busy to make his scheduled appointments. This also cost SK the chance to do the work on my house when that time comes. Point is the smallest quote could get the biggest payoff. Matt Cook needs to learn this. read more

Overall the install was okay at best. The quality of materials was very poor even though we paid for cedar . They are way overpriced and don't stand by there products/work. I've attached photos of the posts visible on the outside of the concrete.... It's safe to say we will not use them in the future, nor would we recommend their services. We went with SK because most of the fences in town were installed by your company and expected more based on their reputation but I think because we were are not in the richest area we didn't get the same kind of care/quality of work. When in reality what we got was a shoddy fence job with warped boards, bent fence posts, and a gate that was improperly installed - all by a crew that spent more time utilizing their smoke breaks & breaks than they did working on our fence. I'm generally not one to complain, even when I want to, but it is ridiculous that they would claim that our gate falling over was caused by storm damage when there was visible wood rot visible at the bottom of the broken posts and none of the rest of the fence has fallen over that is out in the open more. We do realize that it has been 4 years since installation, but there is no way that it should have rotted that fast and if it had been installed properly, it wouldn't have at all. It is obvious that SK does not stand by their products/work. Ultimately, we decided to do the work ourselves, because $800 is just crazy for replacing two posts that was their fault they rotted when the materials cost us less than $100. The posts were obviously rotted, and while digging them up we learned the reason the posts failed was because they were partially installed outside of the concrete. This is deeply concerning and it makes me wonder how many of our other posts were installed incorrectly.... Hopefully you don't have this issue but we would strongly recommend someone else. We wouldn't even been writing this if they would have just stood by the work they did and fixed the mistake they made. Heck if the whole fence blew down and it was real wind damage I wouldn't even blame them for say sorry that is wind damage there is nothing we can do about it. read more

S-K Exteriors removed our old wooden fence and installed a vinyl fence. We had been on the schedule for several months and they stuck to that schedule in what turned out to be the coldest, snowiest part of the season. We couldn't be happier with the result. I would have reservations about future work by SK Exteriors. I had them put in a metal fence a few weeks ago. The fence went in okay but they left tracked mud over some of my yard, which has damaged my grass. I called the company to complain and the receptionist said the owner would call me the next day. That was several weeks ago and no call. If the three workers had taken an hour to police the area before they left, everything would be fine. I have used Brooks Creek in past houses with no problem. I would go back to them. My recommendation would be to hold 10% of the price back for punch list final approval, like most construction projects allow. read more

SK installed my fence and gate a little over a year ago. Within a week it was falling apart. Chunks of wood fell off when I opened and closed the gate. It took several tries to get someone to look at the fence and a waiting period to fix it. Currently there is a 3" gap between the fence and gate opening. The boards are uneven and the gate hardware is crooked and falling apart. I have to manipulate the gate hardware to open and close the gate. I would not recommend this company at all. read more

We needed a garage with windows sided. A gentleman came out and measured and we set up an appt for a few days later to go over the quote. He called and said he was running late and cancelled the appt. he said he would send us the quote. I guess it was too small of a job for this company since we have not gotten a quote read more

An overall good experience with SK - would call again for future needs. They have done three jobs for me so far, all of which were in 2016 (I wanted to wait a few years for any latent errors to show up before writing the review). 1st job: Remove existing shingles, replace ~30 sheets of decking that was installed wrong by original installer and was buckling, and installed a new roof. Crew was quick (in and out in ~2 days). Garage area does still have some buckling and should have had a few more sheets of decking replaced (disappointing since buckling was my main driver for replacement, old roof was still leak tight ect). I will know to look harder next time. I'd rate this job 4/5 stars and the price was very competitive. I worked with Caleb (owner) directly on this. 2nd job: Re-flash and install vinyl siding over existing RB&B on a small (less than 100 sq ft). There was a lot of confusion on the scope of this job, and I did a lot of back and forth with Dennis (sales guy), Caleb, and Marcello (installer) on this. Eventually, we all got on the same page and the work was done quickly and professionally. Price was competitive and no complaints about end result. 4/5 stars. 3rd job: Cover existing cedar soffit/fascia boards with new aluminum. I worked with Caleb and Dennis on this job, price was competitive, and there was no issue. 5/5 stars. Overall, knocking off 1 star based on the garage roof not being perfect after dropping ~$10k, and the communication issues I had on the siding/flashing replacement. I would 100% recommend SK to any friend, and will do business with them again! read more

We replaced a few fence posts and the original owner used this company for the fencing. So we called and the were told the sales person would call us that day to go over pricing and ordering. Never got a call back. So we called back... Same story everyday, for a week. Turns out we were able to buy much cheaper boards at a local competitor and cut out the shape ourselves. Saved a good amount of money and didn't have to give any to a company that we practically had to beg for service. Win-win. I'm with the first reviewer, do yourself a favor and start somewhere else for good customer service from the beginning! read more

SK installed an $8000 fence for us. While they got it done in one day, they drilled a hole through the sump pump pipe. Once it rained and the sump pump started pumping, had a water geyser bubbling up around the post nearest to the house. When I informed SK about this issue, they told me they were not responsible, that I was responsible because I didn't tell them there was a pipe there. I hadn't even moved into the house, so I didn't realize there was a pipe there. I had submitted several drawings of the area, our lot, and pipes and sewer that were put in by the city. I was warned by several people about SK and I should have listened. Do yourself a favor.....use ANYONE ELSE. read more

We have had the absolute worst experience with SK! The first day went smoothly with a great working crew. Day 2 was a different story... new crew with one guy who was very professional and worked hard while the other two stood around. The first issue was they drilled the wrong holes on the back side so this was a 3 hour set back with one guy working. I looked out the window to see lazy worker #1 throw a rock at lazy worker #2, lazy #2 then throws the rock back and it hits our house. They laughed and laughed like two 3 year olds. Lazy #2 then drops a bag of Quikrete in our yard and leaves it sitting there for hours. They then realize they won't finish today so lazy #1 proceeds to pick up the bags of quikrete with the bobcat and ruins our yard with the tracks. This task could have been done by hand. I called the manager he said he would speak with them and would contact their supervisor. In the mean time the manager sends two more workers to help them finish. Their idea of working was standing around and swinging on our neighbors swing set while one guy still does all of the work. As I take a picture of the swinging and text messaging going on, one of the new workers walks by our tree and breaks off a limb and throws it on the ground. I called the manager and told him I want them all off of our property. He removed them all except the one hard worker. I really had high hopes after day one. I will NEVER hire SK again. Thank God I was home to witness all of the shenanigans. Who knows what happens to others properties when they are at work. They may be the most popular in the area but they are NOT the most professional. read more

We had a black chain link fence installed about eight years ago. It's still beautiful! They're very helpful when I do something moronic with my lawnmower, too.
