During the last storm we ended up with some water damage and needed someone to come out fast. I called and left messages for all of the local roofing companies and Bash/Pepper was the first one to answer the phone and schedule an appointment. They were able to come out the next day. The owner of Bash/Pepper roofing is the one who actually came out to do the estimate. He was extremely nice and knowledgeable. He fixed everything right away. We will use them again and recommend them to everyone we know!

This summer, I called them back for repairs, and it was one of the most frustrating experiences. Really poor communication and did not complete all the work as agreed. I wasted so much time waiting for them to do things, and the problem was not even fixed. So now I am out a lot of money for something someone else needs to fix. I wish I had never called them in the first place. Learn from my mistake and call someone else. You may think it's a great company because of how fast they send someone to give you a quote and make it sound like it's all going to be fixed promptly, but don't fall for it. Expect to be ghosted, and overcharged.

Shane Moseley came to my home in December of 2017. He wrote up a report about the problems which a…read moreprevious contractor had made on my house. He was enthusiastic and seemed experienced and trustworthy. He had good reviews on Angie's List, which I later learned were fake. He gave me a quote for the work ($14,000). Said he scheduled 4-5 months out and required a 50% deposit. I gave him a $7,000 check. That was 17-months ago. He's still not done the work. Several months ago when I was fed up with waiting, I asked him to return my deposit. That I could no wait any longer and needed to find someone else. He confessed he didn't have the money; that he'd spent it. Blamed it on his girlfriend, saying she had accidentally deposited my check to his personal account. But I knew better: It was a classic Ponzi scheme and he'd gotten in over his head. He was borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. He was co-mingling his personal and business accounts, which is a felony. I reported him to the proper authorities: The Office of the Attorney General for Illinois and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. I would not recommend doing any business with Mr. Moseley. Or if you must do business with him, do not give him a deposit. Tell him you'd like a 3rd party to hold the money in Escrow (watch how quickly he drops you!) I think this man is a sociopath and you would best stay away from him. He stole $7,000 from me. That is a fact. Don't risk it.

He always answered calls/texts promptly and happily discussed all sorts of aspects of the project (and even others that we were doing ourselves in the house). He gave us very solid advice and really listened to what we were aiming for. He (and helper AJ) did great work, and the bathroom turned out fantastic. We're super happy with it, and that really says something considering I'm pretty picky and I had a very detailed plan. Price was reasonable considering the magnitude of the work done (every fixture was moved) and the add-ons that cropped up (e.g. repaired and skimmed a bedroom ceiling while they were there, too!). After hearing about so many contractor issues, we were pretty nervous since this is our first house and our first big project, but I feel like we really lucked out finding Shane. We were all paid up and I asked him to come back to do a few final touch-ups - no problem at all. We'd absolutely recommend Shane to anyone.

He is a holy roller who manipulates old people within a church. He is a very sore loser when he doesn't get a job that he over bids to begin with. All the legit honest contractors are retired I recommend anyone out of town before this guy. This guy charged a family member of mine $10,000 to redrywall and paint a 10x10 room. A $3,500 job at the most. He took trim and hid all the corners with trim instead of using mud. Some areas had almost a 2 inch gap. On top of the outrageous price it took them a more than a month to do a week job. Again he doesn't do the work, his flunkies who barely show up do the work and a piss poor job at that.
