We contracted Charles and his team to do a remodel of our bathroom in Jan. 2021 and are happy with…read morethe work he did. From the estimate forward, he did a great job communicating with us about pricing and process, and he offered a much more reasonable quote than many other contractors in central Illinois. When any work that deviated from our original plan arose (such as replacing the drum trap in our older home), Charles explained what needed to be done and why. Our final invoice was right in line with our estimate and we felt that he was honest and straightforward with us throughout the remodel. He was also very considerate being in our home and maintaining masks/distancing during covid-19.

After the hail storm we had earlier this fall, I called Crown Exteriors to come check out our roof…read more They came out the next day, worked quickly with our insurance company, and we had a new roof just a couple of weeks later. The roofers got the whole thing done in a day, and Dillon came by afterwards to make sure everything was done to their high standards. He even went around extra times to make sure nails weren't left behind, since we have young kids playing in the yard. Additionally, we are getting solar panels on the roof, and Crown has worked with our solar company to make sure everything was ready for that installation, too. I can't recommend Crown highly enough!

My husband and I needed the windows and two sliding mg glass doors replaced in our home. We met…read morewith with a representative (Colton) in February 2024. While we were looking at other businesses, we greatly appreciated Colton's knowledge. We also wanted to support a local business, and we were impressed that they did their own work rather than hire contractors. In the end, we decided to go with Crown Exteriors. We asked about the timeline, and we were told that once they measured and placed the window order, we would have windows by mid-May at the latest. We received a text letting us know that the windows showed up May 2nd, and Colton told us that they'd schedule us after their carpenter caught up on a few things. After that, any communication was initiated by me. I reached out on 5/22/24, 1/19/24, and 8/5/24. Colton responded each time, but it was unnerving to have to reach out so often because we weren't given any updates. Finally, at the end of August 2024, I received a call from Colton asking if we wanted the windows installed the next day (8/29). Because we'd waited so long, we agreed. The next day, contractors showed up, which upset us because we had hoped to have someone on staff do the installation. The install went as smoothly as it could go, and it took about three days. However, two days after the windows were installed we noticed some issues. First, they installed our doors the wrong way, flipping the handle from the right to the left side of the door. Thats minor, but we were confused as to why they'd make the change. Next, the sliding glass doors accumulated water at the bottom. Outside water accumulation makes sense, but there shouldn't have been water on the inside. Lastly, a couple windows wouldn't open, and we couldn't figure out why. We contacted Colton, and he said he'd need to circle back to the contractors to look at it. This response was given on September 9th. Since then, we've called Colton (who let us know he didn't work there anymore and gave us the owner's contact information), the owner, and the business number on the website. We've left messages as well. We have yet to be contacted. The install was approximately $20,000, and we are not a super well-off family, so we really counted on this to be done well. And yet, we've been ignored and left with broken windows. I didn't want to leave this review because I'd hoped to work it out with them, but I'm hoping that they might be more willing to talk to us with this review posted.

Brad and his staff are responsive. You never have to wonder…read morewhat is going on. I had a leak due to multiple issues with my chimney. Brad's work fixed that leak! Brad, replaced I would say ten or more bricks, repointed the chimney, and coated the crown. He and his crew were professional from start to finish and didn't leave a speck of brick in the yard or on my roof. The price was absolutely phenomenal. He is a straight shooter. Look no further. I am going to be having him back for more work. Please note that the pics are not the finished product at the moment. Brad is coming back to clean the brick and sheathing completely and to seal the brick and mortar. I will update the photos when he is completely finished. Brad came back as promised, cleaned up the dust and sealed the brick. The work looks beautiful and no more leak! They didn't leave a speck of brick pieces anywhere. Perfect clean up.

Tom Parker, owner of Advance Deck & Sunroom, was the most professional businessman with whom we…read morehave ever had the pleasure of working. We give him and his company 6 out of 5 stars for providing the highest quality of work w/top notch customer service & kindness. Prior to working with him, we researched several highly rated companies for our deck repair/remodel. He was the only one who responded within 24 hours and came out personally to our home to provide a bid (and a competitive one at that) within the week. He provided suggestions for our project without trying to upsell materials or unnecessary add-ons. He is one of only a few TrexPro specialists in Illinois, which was a high priority for us, knowing the unparalleled quality of the Trex brand. His anticipated start time for the project was exactly as predicted and he completed the work in record time. He and his team are highly skilled and show genuine care and pride in the quality of their final product. They even came back a day after the work was complete because it had rained, and they wanted to clean off any mud or leaves that had covered their work. We cannot say enough good things about their professionalism, skill and customer service. We will only work with Tom and his team for any similar work in the future. Thank you for such a beautiful addition to our home!

Shane Moseley came to my home in December of 2017. He wrote up a report about the problems which a…read moreprevious contractor had made on my house. He was enthusiastic and seemed experienced and trustworthy. He had good reviews on Angie's List, which I later learned were fake. He gave me a quote for the work ($14,000). Said he scheduled 4-5 months out and required a 50% deposit. I gave him a $7,000 check. That was 17-months ago. He's still not done the work. Several months ago when I was fed up with waiting, I asked him to return my deposit. That I could no wait any longer and needed to find someone else. He confessed he didn't have the money; that he'd spent it. Blamed it on his girlfriend, saying she had accidentally deposited my check to his personal account. But I knew better: It was a classic Ponzi scheme and he'd gotten in over his head. He was borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. He was co-mingling his personal and business accounts, which is a felony. I reported him to the proper authorities: The Office of the Attorney General for Illinois and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. I would not recommend doing any business with Mr. Moseley. Or if you must do business with him, do not give him a deposit. Tell him you'd like a 3rd party to hold the money in Escrow (watch how quickly he drops you!) I think this man is a sociopath and you would best stay away from him. He stole $7,000 from me. That is a fact. Don't risk it.

He always answered calls/texts promptly and happily discussed all sorts of aspects of the project (and even others that we were doing ourselves in the house). He gave us very solid advice and really listened to what we were aiming for. He (and helper AJ) did great work, and the bathroom turned out fantastic. We're super happy with it, and that really says something considering I'm pretty picky and I had a very detailed plan. Price was reasonable considering the magnitude of the work done (every fixture was moved) and the add-ons that cropped up (e.g. repaired and skimmed a bedroom ceiling while they were there, too!). After hearing about so many contractor issues, we were pretty nervous since this is our first house and our first big project, but I feel like we really lucked out finding Shane. We were all paid up and I asked him to come back to do a few final touch-ups - no problem at all. We'd absolutely recommend Shane to anyone.
