It was fully paid off. I called them and told them that I'd like to leave it active for the new home owner because I had a walk through after closing with him, I wanted to show it off to him and let him know everything he'd get to take advantage of if he kept paying the service. They said this was great and gave me one month free to do this. The new homeowner signed up for Vivint service and my account went inactive. Three months later they start calling me constantly telling me that I owe them $150 for 3 months of service, while my account was inactive the entire time! And the new homeowner had already been paying for the panel all this time! They said there was nothing they could do because he didn't register the panel as a 'takeover' he registered it as new service. You explain this to them and all they do is read a script. Really unethical and immoral -- despite having loved Vivint so much I would never recommend this service to anyone. Wish I could do 0 stars.

All security wiring was pulled into a largish recessed box in the garage next to the AC panel, with a huge "NCIT" sticker on the cover. No security or protection whatsoever, and easy to defeat wiring when located in an attached garage. A prime example of an electronics vendor with little to no experience of how to install proper security wiring in a residential application. These are not automation or audio systems, they are SECURITY systems in which people trust their family's lives. It was not professionally executed with safety or security in mind, and we pretty much had to relocate all of the existing security wiring to get it out of the garage.
