It's a new find, right off the I-5 exit past Wilsonville, near the Truck stop, on our way to Woodburn/Mt-Angel. They tried to keep the good old Indian dhaba style theme with the decor. The tea was hot, nice strong cardamom flavor. The samosa-chole papdi, palak paneer and dal tadka was pretty awesome, reminded me of the authentic punjabi style cuisine. Each place--Russian, tacos, fried chicken, and the incredible Sizzling Tandoori Hut--has its own cool seating area styled to match the food, making it super vibey. Sizzling Tandoori Hut blew me away with their Chicken Curry and Chana Paneer Masala. The curry was packed with tender chicken in a rich, spicy sauce that had just the right kick. The masala was amazing too--creamy paneer and chickpeas in a bold, flavorful gravy, both served hot and tasting straight out of India. When driving from Seattle to Southern Oregon, this is the place we often stop for lunch, breaking up the drive, and getting good food. It's a food truck next to a truck-wash and across the street from a truck stop with fuel. Not someplace you'd usually notice, but worth it nonetheless. We usually get tandoori chicken - my preference is for chicken tikka tandoori, but the tandoori wrap is a reasonable alternative. Usually, the food is very good, with big chunks of high-quality chicken -- but we have had some variability, so unfortunately I have to say "not always" -- hence the 4-stars rather than 5-stars. The folks at the window are always pleasant and helpful. We tend to eat in the car -- sometimes there's a spot to sit, but generally, we find the car more suitable (this is a food truck at a truck stop - ambiance is not its strong suit). It's a good idea to call your order in from a distance - some of the made to order items can take 10-minutes to prepare -- or if you're fueling up and using the bathrooms at the truck-stop, the 10-minute wait won't be an issue. read more

This was random find and it took me quite a while to come here and have food. Food truck - calls itself having punjabi dhaba food. My emotions were very mixed after having food here. We took the platter. However the platter they served were not as they advertised. Chicken tikka and tandoori chicken has way too much food coloring in it. Malai was an exception. Lamb tikka was very rubbery. Chicken tikka masala sauce was outstanding and so was Lassi. I am not sure but I did feel the naan was frozen and reheated. It didn't had the fresh taste and texture that you get when it's just out of tandoor. This food truck will surely survive as it's already popular with the truck driver's who are making stop overs. I found this when I was at the rest area looking for food. Only 2 miles away. Delicious and authentic food. Large portions and their Naan is incredible. You can sit outside on the picnic tables or take it to go. Conveniently located across from the gas station with 2 other food trucks. It's definitely not too spicy for those of us who like it mild. Came here looking for a new place to try, thanks to Yelp and Google maps found this gem. It was cold out so I sent my family back to wait in the car after they ordered. The owner offered me free naan to eat while I waited. It was amazing! While I waited another customer came up and complimented the owner saying it was the best Indian cuisine he had had on the west coast. I stood there in front of the window looking at the menu for a couple of minutes and could see the guy standing by the window waiting. I look to face the window and order, and he grabs the window and pushes it closed and gives me a hand signal that they're closed, even though the sign says 24 hours. I don't understand what was so hard in opening the window and explaining they're closing and why. The whole thing came off super rude. Not to mention, this was after I decided to give them a second chance since last time I was in the area and got food here, there was a hair in my rice. Not only did I come here once, I went back the next morning for breakfast. Although the evening meal of butter chicken was great, the breakfast was the show stopper. Wow! What a find! My husband and I were driving from WA to CA and stopped for gas/lunch. This place was nested with a couple other food truck spots next to a truck car wash across from the Flying J. I ordered the chicken with rice--my husband ordered lamb kebabs. The portions were huge, the quality of the meat and the seasonings were exceptional, the rice was delicious, the salad that came with our entrees was delicious. And this certainly fits the bill! I got the veg lunch box-the biggest problem was choosing between the various daily curries available-and a mango lassi. Probably the worst experience I ever had with Punjabi/Indian food. I've tried a LOT of different Indian food places and this is gonna get the top spot on the list for one reason. The naan, the naan was extremely stiff. Not brittle where it breaks apart but stiff to the point where it felt like you're chewing rubber. I had already ordered my food so I decided I was gonna eat it and move on. I only finished half of the naan because it was so hard that my jaw started hurting. Saw this place unexpectedly when we went to get gas South of Portland. Russia food was closed on Sunday but Mexican and Indian were opened. We haven't had Indian food for awhile so the family and I ate here. We got lunch box which was number 7, number 8 sizzling tandoori box, an extra naan and a mango lassi. Everything totaled to $30.50. Number 7 lunch box came with butter chicken and chicken curry: chicken curry was slightly spicy, butter chicken was not. Tandoori box was full of favors and mildly spicy. The husband and I shared the meal with two toddlers and it was plenty. I did have to make more rice for the curry and chicken butter. The great Indian truck stop. I have been told it is the best Indian food east of Bengal. I am not an authority, but I will have to say it was damn good. We had the Vegetarian lunch plate, and it was enough food for 1.5-2 people. I think it changes depending on the day what they have. Also, the person who was taking orders did not seem to speak English (or Punjabi...), and that is important because you get to pick your plates with the veggie meal. We got the guy who spoke English (and Punjabi) and he recommended two dishes (I forget which) and both were off the chain. The meal also comes with a giant piece of naan.
