Time for an update! I had not been here in years because my last trip was not good. We came for dinner on a weekday. It was $17.75 for all you can eat. You order at the counter, they give you a bowl and assign you a table. I thought that was odd but discovered later that is how you get a new bowl for your next round. I liked the selection. They had Tofu. A lot of places don't anymore. The sauces are still a bit weak so I put a little more. They didn't have lobster sauce. Wait time was good. The staff member apologized, but I think she needed something to dry the wet floor. I held on to my husband as we navigated the ingredient buffet. The selection was good with the standard items. I do wish they could have given us a plate of sweet and sour wontons. We were given one a piece. I miss the sesame biscuits from other Mongolian BBQs, so I always add a bunch of sesame seeds in my bowl. The instructions/rules for All You Can Eat were confusing. I can never finish a whole bowl so I prefer takeout. Two signs said All You Can Eat dinner doesn't qualify for takeout. Yet, I saw three customers carrying takeout packages... Having been to Sizzling Fresh Mongolian BBQ several times over the years, my family and I decided to go again after hearing there was new ownership. There is plenty of parking in the large shopping area with several stores and other food options nearby. The inside of the restaurant is relatively small, but has plenty of seating for everyone. The ambiance of the restaurant is similar to most restaurants, with some talking and background music in the background. With the new ownership they added a little stamp that you have to show to get a new bowl which was fine. The staff quickly rung us up and gave us the bowls to get started. Similar to most Mongolian BBQ locations you load up your own food to your liking and hand it to someone to cook. They have a fair amount of topping options. The noodles are yummy, especially if you prepare them well. The secret to flavorful noodles is to double everything on their recommended sauces and add extra to your preference. You also get a side of rice and a spring roll with every order, which is a nice cherry on the top. Me asking for 6 tiny size to go cups was apparently just asking for too much. Now when I approach the lady I was polite with a please and thank you. They have a suggested amount of scoops per sauce to blend but mine still turned out a little bitter for my taste. I'm not sure if it's the cooking wine. Sizzle sizzle goes the food on the hot surface. The process is easy, walk in go to register decide on eat in or togo. Then walk over and choose your goodies. From many veggies to 4 proteins(beef, Turkey, chicken or pork) all are sliced thin on proteins. But at the end of the line before you get to the people manning the hot top they do have some tofu for a 5th protein. After the proteins you goto the veggie section. So many to choose from. If your on the all you can eat, dont worry about filling the bowl, get what you want and go again. Unless your on the lunch 1x bowl then break out your tetris skills and stack it up. Then once done stacking and packing now comes the liquids. They have a bunch of them, from house sauce, hot sauce, teriyaki, ginger water, sugar water, wine and I think a few others. Then top it off with cilantro, garlic, chestnuts, pinepalle, or tofu. Then it goes to the the chef. He does it walk around a few times with the food as he turns the food over and over with these huge chopsticks as my kids call it. If you didn't add enough liquids to your bowl they add on water to help steam and move the cooking process along. Then he slides the bowl to you and then you can give it the final toppings, peanuts, sriracha, and/or sesame seeds. Now for a few pro tips. If you go with noodles kinda look at the grill real quick. If there is a huge line and it looks a bit cooked on from all the other food the noodles will come out a bit darker with that cooked flavor. Not to yummy personally. But when the lines is gone they do a quick clean, turn the heat up, toss water on and scrape it off. If you happen to go after this the food tastes so good and noodles are lightly colored. My 1st bowl was before the cleaning, But my 2nd bowl was on that fresh cleaned one and made a huge difference. 2nd tip, they watch everyone and will call you on stuff. Seen people take a water cup which they give you clear and get soda and talked to quickly.(soda cups are the red ones) Or if you bought a lunch 1x bowl and didnt order AYCE but yet somehow get back in line for another round. They now handout the bowls to you at the table once your done eating it, if you don't wait for them you can go up to them but they will ask what table and then bring it to you, so they can make sure also. This establishment is no longer letting people go back for seconds after paying for a bowl (14.25, plus tax). I witnessed some patrons "piling" up the food in the bowl like they haven't eaten in a month. All I'm going to say is, be thoughtful people. Just because it's one trip through the line, if you were that hungry and could actually finish all the food you piled in your bowl in the first place, you should've gone to an all you can eat place instead. Nothing special and oddly they put a paper on top of the rice and egg roll then put your stir fry on top. So I paid $17 for the small bowl that you have to cram everything in and hopefully nothing falls out and put the topping dressings and whatever else into the small little bowl... $17 I look over to the people behind me to their bowl and their bowl is bigger because while once again, I'm taking it out and they're staying that shouldn't be happening But I kept going. I get to my place to put your ladles of whatever you pick to make your food taste good hand in my bowl they cooked it stuck it in the container and I packaged up and took it home. The only reason why I'm writing this to you when I got home I opened it up, tasted it, and it was awful, awful awful. None of the sauces I used tasted anywhere throughout this whole thing, it was so oily so greasy I don't even know what to say. I'll never go back again... I even called the place to complain and once again the lady picked up the phone could not understand anything of what she was saying didn't even understand what I was trying to say other than I told her I had a complaint about the food and that I will never go back to that establishment again so people that take your food out to go Make sure you taste it before you leave because when I got home, I was very disappointed. I have been here once or twice many years ago and have had pretty decent experiences, but more recently, I came on a Tuesday evening and my experience was just okay. First, as far as prices, an adult bowl is $14.25 plus tax and a kids bowl is $10.15 plus tax. The prices sure have gone up over the years, but that seems to be the standard at most establishments. We ordered one kids bowl and we were able to pick all the ingredients for our bowl on our own. They have pork, beef, and chicken for meats, several veggie options such as spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, broccoli, and then noodles, sauces, and toppings. Small cubes of tofu are a topping as well. We piled our bowl high and brought it to the chef. The chef picked up and dropped my bowl on the counter by accident which caused some noodles and other items from our bowl to fall out. He was nice enough to let us get some more noodles to replace the dropped items. When our food was done being cooked, the chef put the cooked food in a styrofoam take out container, which had some rice and one egg roll in it. We ate at the restaurant and the food was not bad. The meats looked dark and a bit overcooked. The noodles were good and most of the veggies were not bad or a bit overcooked. It's possible that because we added noodles after our initial bowl already started cooking, the chef might have overcooked the items in the first bowl. Overall, our experience was somewhere between okay to good. The lady ringing up orders did not seem to know that the restaurant does not take Discover credit card because when I asked her, she didn't know, and then she kept having me swipe my credit card each time it didn't go through. On the plus side, the restaurant provided hand sanitizer and plastic gloves for everyone before getting their own food. The chefs were pretty nice and hard working. Business was pretty decent as there was a steady stream of customers the entire evening. But what is most fun about eating at a Mongolian BBQ restaurant is watching customers pile their bowls as high of a mountain as they can get. You can tell who the experienced ones are, lol. One person I saw had me in shock with ingredients that reached almost a foot from the top of the bowl! There was so much food, the styrofoam container could barely close! It's your typical Mongolian BBQ restaurant where you load your bowl with your choice of proteins, noodles, and veggies. You then place your bowl on the next counter where a cook stir frys it for you. The excitement and jubilation of seeing my friends quickly turned into an uncomfortable dining experience due to the older Asian lady working the front counter. After paying for my meal and turning away, I was scolded by her for forgetting my food bowl. She yelled "what, you don't want to eat!" In a load condescending tone. Next she hovered near our table staring at us as we ate our food uncomfortably. Needless to say I will never be back. The food was okay, however the prices are high.
