Started with the butternut squash soup with coconut emulsion that was so good. The bread basket includes 3 types of breads and butters. You will want to eat it all but have to save room. We moved on to the king crab - perfectly cracked and flavorful w/their own house made sauces. It was the best crab I've had outside of Alaska and we live in Seattle where it's plentiful. Next we had the halibut with an amazing crust of hazelnuts and truffles. It may have been even better than the crab, but it was close. The fish came with a taro mash with truffle - and we didn't realize that so we also ordered the potatoes with Burrata and truffle. You can't have enough truffle. Well, I never received a text from COA, and when i tried to call back twice after waiting fifteen minutes, nobody answered. I suspect the person was avoiding answering because of the caller ID. Needless fo say, I returned to San Juan and told my team that we'd postpone our dinner meeting until I found somewhere else to eat and discuss business plans. Again, i get the feeling that Deaf people here in Puerto Rico are treated like we don't exist or that we're an inconvenience--second-class citizens, as if my money isn't good enough. As if we do good enough to afford McDonald's, it's an attitude that I've encountered in other parts of the world: India, Brazil, Thailand, to name a few, where accessibility doesnt exist, and Deaf people and people with disabilities are given low expectations. Again, as if hearing and intelligence are linked, which they are not. Since I'm Deaf I must have a low wage job.

A nice think ribeye, perfect marbling but they also got the medium rare exactly as it should be, with an incredible char on the outside. I would fly back to Puerto Rico just to have this steak again. I also liked the crispy brussel sprouts and the asparagus were excellent, larger portion than you get elsewhere and nice thick asparagus. Interesting name for a restaurant. First thing that comes to mind is the Russian KGB, or Russian Police. Not true KGB = Kitchen Garden Cafe, and it lives up to its name. I had the Portuguese Steak, which was very good. Wife had a fish dish which is unusual for her. The owner was going from table to table and spent quite a bit of time with us, explaining the name and history of the restaurant. It turns out they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We really enjoyed it and almost went back for breakfast one day but just didn't have the time. Just a note, it's local in a retail strip center and could be deceiving but believe me it's worth a second look. I know you'll enjoy it, and of course the food.
