If you are going to compare if there was a dent at pickup you should show at the location of pickup. Not some other location. We were about an hour early than our scheduled pick-up time but they were still able to let us pick up. We booked a full size car and ended up getting an SUV type vehicle, which was nice. The cars are also cleaned thoroughly. We've had rental cars that were clean enough but this one looked as though it had really been detailed, and I really appreciate a clean rental car. It just makes it so much more comfortable to drive. For drop off, we were able to drop off in Downtown for no price difference (not sure if this is a Avis Preferred benefit or not). Overall, it was a quick and smooth experience - not something you can often say about airport rental car pickups.

I rented a vehicle from Calgary, AB airport location that was provided to me with two rear tires suffering from slow leaks. The vehicle was apparently not properly inspected or maintained before being rented out. While driving on a busy road, both tires lost pressure to 2 PSI, putting me in a very dangerous situation and creating a serious safety risk. When I contacted the rental company for assistance, I was told to contact roadside assistance myself. I was then left with the towing expense, and to make matters worse, the company charged me for the replacement of the two tires. I find this absolutely unacceptable. A rental company has a responsibility to ensure the vehicles they put on the road are properly maintained, inspected and safe for their customers. What is even more disappointing than the initial safety issue was the extremely poor customer service and lack of accountability afterwards. I would strongly encourage anyone considering renting from this company to think twice. Your safety should never be compromised because a rental company failed to properly maintain its fleet. I've been disputing this charge or mths and still have not received a mechanical report for the tire conditions pre-rental nor for the cause, just threats. BBB has been notified.

The Toronto location had a good deal where the price of fuel was low and you only paid for how much they needed to fill up. - Misleading information about my insurance not covering me while driving a Thrifty rental. Again the Toronto location checked my insurance and said that it would cover me. - Did not give me the class of car I had booked. Mid-size sedan, Camry but instead wanted to give me a Jetta which I consider a compact. I argued and instead got a Prius V. - The car rear view camera would constantly think that there was an obstacle behind so it was always beeping. Though I enjoyed driving the Prius for experiencing something new. But I also learned that I would probably never want such soft brakes.

The shuttle service was extremely frustrating and poorly managed. The website's "Shuttle Status"…read morepage was stuck on "Loading request," so I had no idea when the shuttle would actually arrive. I called the car rental company's customer service twice, and both times I was told the shuttle would arrive in 15 minutes. In reality, I ended up waiting about an hour before the shuttle finally arrived. Once I reached the rental counter, I had to wait another 30 minutes just to complete the check-in process because there were not enough employees. The front desk staff were trying to do everything at once--answer phone calls, check customers in, and escort customers to their rental cars. I understand that staff can get busy, but waiting approximately 1.5 hours just to get through the shuttle and rental process is completely unacceptable. The lack of staffing and poor communication made the entire experience stressful and unnecessarily time-consuming. I hope the company seriously improves its shuttle tracking system, customer communication, and staffing levels. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this rental service.
