THIS PLACS IS THE WORST! Like the other reviews, this car rental company is RIDICULOUS! USELESS AND…read moreNOT HELPFUL AT ALL. DOESN'T HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS TO THE FULL EXTENT. Picking up the car: I was staying in Vancouver and wanted to rent a car for a day. This company doesn't accept any international insurance coverage, so you MUST buy THEIR Canadian insurance which only it's a WAIVER. Although the price isn't much, most other places accepts international insurance. The lady that was helping me was pushing me to proceed and was being rude instead of being patient when I started debating about choosing this company. She said if I don't proceed then there's no time to help me since there's going to be a lot of people coming. Makes sense however, I got there before they were even opened and no one was there besides me. After debating and trying to find another rental company, I didn't want to waste any more time. I had a family member who needed assistant and going with another company would take a lot longer and we wouldn't b able to walk/travel to another location with so much luggage with us. Plus, it's only a one day rental. I gave in and just proceed with every thing. Now it's a guy who's helping me with the process, and he knows (and mentioned) my reservation is dropping it off AT THE AIRPORT (it even cost an extra $75 for dropping it off there). He showed me the numbers I would call in case of accidents or road assistants needed and that was it. Drop off: On the day of dropping the car off, I tried to drop it off at the airport. Found out the drop off location is NOT AT OR IN Vancouver airport. It's OUTSIDE of the airport. What made it more an inconvenience for me was that the process to the gate for international requires a longer process. I would of missed my flight if I didn't go to the airport 3 1/2 hours early for my flight. The guy didn't even have the audacity to tell me my car will need to be dropped off at a location outside of the airport, and that they will have a shuttle to take me to the airport. In addition, they didn't even provide me an address of where to drop off the car or the hours of operations. I found out all these information through the airport commercial renters NOT from their company employees! The man at the airport renters didn't have the address for me, but they told me to google "discount" on my phone, and it should pull up a car rental place outside the airport. That should of been an important information to let their customers know. But they don't care cause they don't have to deal with it. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. On a side note: After I was finished with all the paper work for getting a car and was waiting for my car arrived, another customer was also having issues. The customer was having issues just checking in. The employees said they didn't even have any reservations for them. The customer mention that they made their reservation online through THEIR company website too! I also overheard that they had a confirmation number and there was a charge on their account. But of course they weren't any help because "they don't have any reservations" for them. And it seems like they're aware of a SCAM issue going around because the customer mentioned their account was charged. And the employee (the lady that was helping me first) responded to the customer that they've heard about it and mention what information the scam asked from the customer and laughed. They don't sympathize or realize that the customer would have to deal with more inconvenient things now since their account is charged with fraud. How can customers trust their website and company for legitimacy if their information is not protected! By then I already knew I would never rent from this company or go here again. Other tips: this location's hours are different than the drop off location near the airport. Drop off overview: the drop off process was fast and the employees at the drop off location (outside airport) were nice. Just the location at the Marriott hotel is ridiculous and not helpful at all.

However, I had an extraordinary experience at this location where the staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND what was needed (and what I've ever experienced (truly)). In this case, the staff member creatively found a solution to our rental predicament, she scrambled to clean/prepare a car for me, and chose to do all of this after closing hours, in order to accommodate my needs. I could not believe what was happening and am still blown away. (I was shocked to find out later that this staff member is a manager). Without reservation, I recommend these folks.

I asked to see the ticket, but they couldn't produce it. Truck was dropped in their lot, but they didn't even look at it when I brought it back. They also charged me for gas, even though it had a full tank. The truck they rented me was not suitable for my move-it had no ramp, and I was moving furniture on dollies by myself. So I wasn't able to complete my move. When I called to ask about getting a ramp, I was told that it would be extra for a ramp. I agreed to pay, but he simply ducked my calls for the rest of the day. So i had a useless truck for 24 hours. I did notice that there is a space on their invoice where it says that "parking tickets will be listed as cleaning fee." So this is part of the scam. They also told me to park on the street, in 2 hour parking, when returning the vehicle.(?!) When I went to pick it up it wasn't even on their lot-the guy said that I had to walk "quite far" to pick up the truck that I rented. It was about 5 blocks away. So weird. They advertised $19.95 plus mileage-but I was charged $145.00 for a vehicle I couldn't even use for my move because it was missing essential components of the vehicle. Horrible shitty little place, staffed by teen-aged con artists. They refused to tell me who the owner is. I mean, wtf? It's supposed to be a store, but there isn't anything in there that they sell, besides a few cans of Coke and lies. Scammers and liars. Stay far away!

The service may be slow, the language barriers may cause a phone riff, but the guy means well (I think). And its close by! Out back there's a few choice Uhauls - a cargo van, a truck and one of those moving trucks that looks like a camper van. For $19.95 (plus km) it still came out 50% cheaper than the other car rental places. Words to the wise: if your credit card carrier has rental insurance, make sure you decline theirs, check over your vehicle for damage and mark the sheet (they don't walk you through it) and fill it up. They look at the gas receipt! For the "Convenience" store side of things, a big ol 1 star! It might look cool with lots of Eastern European types of foods, cookies, pickled vegetables by the caselot, but almost everything was expired... and expensive! Yick! No wonder there are kids who make faces at the thought of eating their greens!

The truck was perfect for our needs and about what you'd expect form a moving truck - no frills in the cab and a nice clean box with wood floors, tie downs and wall braces. UHaul is such a drag if you live in East Van since you either have to get the truck from some remote location or you have to have them deliver one to you in a more local spot. Dysco is conveniently located on Terminal which made everything smooth and easy. I'd highly recommend these guys for truck rental. They also rent hand trucks, blankets, etc and sell supplies like tape and boxes (but seriously, if you're buying boxes and tape from anywhere but Home Depot almost right across the street, you're getting ripped off). But REALLY SERIOUSLY, if you're paying for boxes rather than just going to craigslist and checking the free section for other people who have just moved and are getting rid of their boxes, you're a chum.

First when a business advertises a full sized car we felt it would be something larger than a Toyota Cambry. When we ask for a larger vehicle which we would pay for any additional price the manager who was standing next to our representative just ignored our request. OK Cambry had to do. Next when my sister said the one driver would be her husband they wanted us to pay an additional $15 per day to have him drive since he wasn't the one on the internet reservation. So my sister ended up having to drive. The problem I have if something is not available such as another car to fit our needs or it's against a company policy to prevent the name be with another driver OK, but show some customer service not just act you care less how we feel. Thrifty was the best priced amongst all the price-gougers out there. (Screw you Budget!) I needed a truck but needed it off-hours. I gave them a bonus star for being so accommodating. I really did appreciate it. The truck itself was kind of lousy. The steering wheel was pretty mushy and the back was very dirty. It wouldn't hurt you guys to sweep it out after each rental. It's like the previous renter used it to haul soil or something. I especially did not like the lift-gate. It was difficult to use and did not level off the way it's supposed to. I liked their accommodating nature, I did not like the vehicle. I think they would be ok to rent a regular car. I would only use them again if I needed this level of flexibility.
