Unfortunately due to weather delays I arrived eight hours past my reservation time. Well no worries they still hold your car here. When I got to Vancouver Airport I went outside to catch the shuttle bus to their offsite location. Once onboard they ask your name than call it in on the phone so they are ready for you when you arrive. Well you can imagine after flying all day I was pretty worn out and I must have looked it. Because once we arrived I was quickly taken care of more so than usual. As the man behind the counter walked me around the rental he said and when you bring it back... This is where I chimed in and said yes bring it back full. He said no worries I got you covered. Funny thing it was like he knew I wouldn't be using much gas. Also because I took full insurance he even said just bring back the steering wheel you are covered. Well I knew what he meant and was grateful as I was already up for 20 hours and his kindness made all the difference in the World.

Which makes it effortless and easy peasy. I had to get in line at the counter to speak to the representative at the desk to confirm my reservation. On a busy day it would make it frustrating to wait, but the rep was friendly and made the experience fast.

THey applied charges to an additional card to the one i made the pay now payment with on website. got charged on 2 different credit cards one on website and one at check in.

We were about an hour early than our scheduled pick-up time but they were still able to let us pick up. We booked a full size car and ended up getting an SUV type vehicle, which was nice. The cars are also cleaned thoroughly. We've had rental cars that were clean enough but this one looked as though it had really been detailed, and I really appreciate a clean rental car. It just makes it so much more comfortable to drive. For drop off, we were able to drop off in Downtown for no price difference (not sure if this is a Avis Preferred benefit or not). Overall, it was a quick and smooth experience - not something you can often say about airport rental car pickups.

I had a medical conference and missed the afternoon session due to an accident on the road to Whistler for another two hours. Not the end of the world. I appreciated the professional help and service Joshua gave.

A Visa or MC Debit card will not do. No one told us this. We have rented from Budget our whole lives. Inconsistencies are whack. Never again. Hertz is a good choice and right next door. Anthony, an older gentleman with short hair and glasses, greeted us with the warmest smile. His politeness and enthusiasm felt genuine. The process of paperwork and retrieving the vehicle flew by smoothly and quickly. I requested an SUV and was pleasantly surprised by a fresh 2020 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid. No apology, no offer to assist, just " we canceled your reservation. I had prepaid so when I was asked for a refund I was told to ring customer service. When I rang them, they told me that I had to call their 3rd party collection company, CarTrawler, for a refund. That was 2 months ago and I can't get a refund because Thrifty haven't sent the info Car Trawler needs to issue the refund. I've handed this over to my credit card company who told me they get these complaints for Thrifty all of the time. Thrifty is owned by Hertz so do yourself a favour and go to Budget or Enterprise. My saviour was the Budget guy at the next desk who heard my conversation with Thrifty, found me a vehicle and charged me the same rate as Thrifty.

I couldn't help but feel that I was expected to accept the downgrade without question. As an Asian woman, I even wondered whether I was perceived as someone who might not notice or challenge this. This experience was very unpleasant. This location however was on the other spectrum in terms of service and now makes me not want to use Thrifty again. - If you don't have a full tank when returning you need to pay for the entire tank. The Toronto location had a good deal where the price of fuel was low and you only paid for how much they needed to fill up. - Misleading information about my insurance not covering me while driving a Thrifty rental. Again the Toronto location checked my insurance and said that it would cover me. - Did not give me the class of car I had booked. Mid-size sedan, Camry but instead wanted to give me a Jetta which I consider a compact. I argued and instead got a Prius V. - The car rear view camera would constantly think that there was an obstacle behind so it was always beeping. Though I enjoyed driving the Prius for experiencing something new. But I also learned that I would probably never want such soft brakes.
