I experienced the most horrendous customer service in PENTICTON, BC ... I reserved a SPECIFIC vehicle over a month in advance and was even confirmed by agent the might before..I had to walk, take a bus an hour and walk again only to be told my vehicle was mot available. I was forced to take an inferior one or be stranded and not go to my DAD'S 90TH birthday and family reunion! I made it but not without a delay, a sore back from the " monster truck" and many other problems this caused me. Good customer service and excellent quality of cars! I prebooked an economy and ended up getting an upgrade to a bigger car, a Chevrolet, to be more specific. The car itself was amazing, in excellent condition and drives so well/smooth. The other thing that I think needs improvement would the inclusion of going over the features of the car as a standard. Absolute scam! We've been fighting with this location for almost a year. They claim we damaged the vehicle, but we have pictures of the car when we dropped it off that price otherwise. My reservation was booked five week ago for a large Tahoe SUV- confirmed and paid. Upon my arrival the car was not available even with a confirmation the day prior. It was extremely unprofessional to put a hold on my card for a car that is not available. I would not recommend using this service. I would recommend using Hertz and renting a car months ahead and calling to confirm the make and model of the car. The employees were kind and apologetic, but it does not justify the faultiness of their reservation system. My family of 5 is now riding in a tiny compact car for a 5 hour road trip. read more

Avoid this place! Extremely disappointed. I rented a car and returned it after closing hours to their parking lot and dropped off the key as suggested. FOUR days after, I get a call saying there was a scratch on the rear side of the car. There was nothing there when I returned the car and it was sitting on their open parking lot for days. Anyone could've walked in from the back alley and scratch it, but they decided to blame me. I asked if they reviewed the security cameras, but they said "their cameras don't reach that far". What a joke! When I took over the car, their guy didn't even do a walk around the car to access previous damage, he just gave me the key and walked away. I had to do it myself and there was no visible damage. Now, my insurance is supposed to pay for the damage reported four days after I returned the car, just because they need someone to pay for the damage and they don't even know who did it. I've been renting there for years, but now I completely stopped doing that. They have proven themselves unreliable and unprofessional. I flew in from the States with my family & the YVR (offsite) branch of Enterprise we usually use had no Mini Vans so I booked at the downtown location. My flight was delayed and I arrived to collect my rental car an hour or so late. It was almost 6pm and the rental representative told me that I was too late and they had no more vehicles. I told them that my family were at the airport with a ton of luggage & that we needed to get back to Hope and their response was, "well you shouldn't have been late" When I told them of my displeasure at the lack of a rental vehicle & of their poor attitude, they told me that if I was late for a restaurant reservation and the restaurant was busy, then I'd lose my table and this was the same scenario. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me the same thing. Too bad so sad. It wasn't their fault I was late so suck it up. I tried to explain that sometimes, there are delays when using air travel and I got there as soon as I could, besides I was only an hour or so late, but they just repeated to me that they couldn't care less 'why' i was late, just that i was late. After much protest, they eventually offered to call around other branches to see if anything was available, they told me to wait outside (!!!!) in the cold. Well, looking into the office from the window I could see them all laughing & joking around and NOBODY appeared on the phone calling to see if they could locate a vehicle for me. At this point it was gone 6pm and most likely other branches were already closed. Realising that I was being fooled around I went back to YVR and rented a vehicle from Thrifty instead. What awful, awful service & attitude. Even from the manager. There are no excuses for this & the business owner should take note that they're probably losing customers because the place is being run by poorly trained staff with bad attitudes and zero customer service skills. Despite the excellent customer service I normally receive at the YVR (offsite) branch, this experience put me off Enterprise for good. read more

I am a frequent renter of Enterprise Rentals-the only rental company I choose cars from. This location, on a few occasions has me quite disappointed with the service. I reserved a compact vehicle for one evening recently. Upon my arrival, I was told they only had mini-van's available, even though made this booking only an hour before I arrived. I was a little upset right away because this would be the second time this happened to me here (read below). Apparently there was a "glitch" in the system and it was allowing people to reserve vehicles at every class for a 90 minute window period. Technology has glitches I can understand that, but when you see a reservation come in, I guess I would call the individual to tell them the situation. To my luck, someone had just returned the class of vehicle. I hate driving big and bulky vehicles..... I returned the car the next day approximately 10 minutes late. In my previous experience with this specific Enterprise location, they have reassured me that they give a grace period of 15-30 minutes of a late return, which seems accommodating. I tried calling 2 times that morning to notify this location that I was stuck in traffic and that I would be 10 minutes late returning the rental. Both times nobody answered the phone. When I did return the vehicle, I was greeted by an individual outside who did an inspection of the vehicle and said that I did not have to go inside to confirm the return. So I left... I received an email from an agent from this location with the receipt of my rental which I do appreciate. Upon my review, I was charged for an extra hour with additional tax to the total amount. I tried to communicate my appropriate return time, and that I was going to be late and thought it would be ok. After responding to the agent's email expressing my concerns, I received a voicemail from the manager asking to speak with me. It was late when he was calling and I wasn't able to answer my phone. He said he would call the next day, and well, I'm still waiting..... The first issue I have had with this location was that I was given the inappropriate class of vehicle. I had ordered a compact class vehicle and received an economy...and they were still going to charge me difference. The gentleman explained to me that was all they had at the time although I wanted something a little bigger as I am a taller person and small vehicles are not always the most comfortable and I was travelling to Victoria. What I thought was a good attempt for customer satisfaction was a big fail; they called a location in Victoria to exchange the vehicles. I was supposed to receive a phone call from an Enterprise in Victoria to trade the vehicle and never did. I was also charged the compact class...and not the lesser amount. The customer service is slim to none. The selection of vehicles has not been good, I have had my vehicle class had to be changed a few times (other than what is mentioned above), there is no remorse from these people and I don't feel they represent the Enterprise family well. This is the first location I have ever had an issue with, so I am quite surprised with the treatment I have received. There is another location downtown on Bute Street. I did ap rice comparison and some vehicles and they are about $20.00 cheaper by the hour. (i.e. I booked a Compact Class car for a rate of $24.00/day from the Granville Location; at the Bute Location, I got the same class for only $20.73/day.) I have tried to give this location the benefit of the doubt however I have taken my business elsewhere and received appropriate service. My recommendation....sometimes it's better to go a little out of your way to gain a better experience. read more

Excepting one experience, the Enterprise at this location is deserving of five stars. They are punctual, efficient, friendly, and courteous. Things I like: - can reserve online - courtesy call one day prior to reservation - offers upgrade at pick up if available - can return vehicle even when location is closed - easygoing and friendly staff - top notch vehicles that handle well My only complaint is a one time incident when we made reservations for an important event and were notified approximately 30 minutes before pickup that no vehicles were available. This put us in a difficult position as we could not be late for the event and were scrambling to get another vehicle at the last minute. There are several contributing factors to why my experience with this Enterprise location has been a positive one. Initially I went to rent a car on a Wednesday only to have the Enterprise employee point out that my Ontario license had expired. Fortunately he directed me to the BC transportation offices where I was able to get my ON license transferred over. By the time I got this taken care of, it was too late to rent the car for that day and Enterprise was happy to push my reservation to the next day. Then the next day I pushed my reservation back a few hours because we decided to leave a little later on in the day. They again were happy to adjust the reservation. When I went to pick up the car, I mentioned to them that I was going to try to get the car back by the same time I was picking it up (in order to avoid being charged an extra day for showing up a few hours late). I wasn't sure if I was going to be held up at the US/Canadian border on my return. The guy put a note on my file saying not to charge me until after 3pm (when they close). So even if I brought the car back a little later, as long as I got back before closing they were going to let the extra couple of hours slide. This was awesome. I wasn't as stressed out driving home because of that. When I dropped the car off they also adjusted my bill downwards $10 because I had a little bit more gas in the tank than when I picked it up. I regularly deal with car rental companies due to frequent business travel and I must say that Enterprise Rent-A-Car is my favorite of all. However, this particular location is on a whole different level. The customer service and professionalism is just out of this world. Every time I go there, I feel like they are treated me like I am the most special customer in the world...it's hard to explain since I cannot recall many other business that evoke that kind of emotion! This level of service has hold true regardless of the employee had the pleasure of dealing with. My hat's off to all the employees, specially Muhammand who's been very pleasant, caring and friendly. He always come through when I need something. I've been renting cars all over Dt vancouver since 2011. This location has become my new go-to place for rentals. Nobody else can offer the level of professional staff combined with clean cars that this place can. Only downside (for some) is that cars are often rented out with less than a fill tank so it's kinda hard to return it with the same amount. Very quick with getting my car ready. Extremely friendly and personable staff. Asked if I needed any maps or directions. Walked around the car with me and took down any concerns I had. Helped me get used to the car. I ended up forgetting my luggage in the trunk upon returning the car. Terrible Experience with this company!!! I rented a car for two months. One day I leave my car parked for 3 days and on the 4th day it was hard to start the car, I found it weird as a new car and specially a rental car shouldn't have battery issues but I let it slip. Another time, i leave my car parked for 5 days and when I'm ready to use it... dead battery. Now, I am a bit of an OCD, so I am 300% i did not leave anything on (lights, radio, etc). I go to enterprise on 1st avenue and ask them to send someone to fix the car or just give me a working car. They didn't want to. They blamed the whole thing on me plus they told me I had to fix it myself and pay for the mechanic. That the best thing they could do was to repay me for half the cost of the mechanic. I thought ARE YOU FOR REAL? When I asked for a working car they told me they couldn't give me another car cause I could be lying to them and using two cars!!!! I just couldn't believe what I was hearing!!!!! Anyways decided to call customer service, everyone on the phone I talked to was extremely nice and helpful. However, I stayed without a working car for an entire week cause they could only send a mechanic from 8am to 6pm which is right when I'm not at home cause I'm working. This company should have solutions for this. I finally managed to get a mechanic and you know what he told me? That a new car shouldn't have battery issues, but that they obviously rented me a crappy car and neglected to give it maintenance. This is serious! Looks like they don't even give their cars the proper maintenance and just as soon as they come in they give them to the next person. What it next time is not the battery but the brakes or something worse? Honestly, rent somewhere else if you can. At least try to avoid the branch on 1st avenue. Those guys were so useless. I was so frustrated and without a car for a whole week because of their incompetence. read more

This location is full of criminals! They processed charges to my credit card that were not authorized, called for a refund and was told by Mariya it was done. After a week and no refund on my credit card came through I called and spoke to Patrick, he advises d me the charge is being processed and should see it in a day or so. Now we are two weeks later, called to figure out where my money was. Spoke with Mariya again and she advised it's processing. I informed her that after two weeks of "processing" the charges should be reversed. I told her I wanted documentation showing the refund request and a update folio, she emailed none of the requested information. I called her 3 more times to get her to properly fulfill my request and still nothing. The last time I called and spoke to Abi (the "mananger") and he basically told me I was wrong and that everything was happening accordingly. I then informed him that their head office, which I contacted has no record of the initial refund. Well that's when Abi started to back peddle. All three team members I encountered today all seemed very shady and something seems to be going on with peoples money. If you rent a car from here make sure to check all your charges, it seems like these people are taking people money and they are all working together to try and cover something up! read more

Extraordinary & fast service !!! We had booked at Hertz, but they didn't respect our booking and kept saying nonchalantly they just didn't have any cars at all. Not only that, but the lady that "attended" us assured us that we wouldn't find cars in all of Vancouver either. We decided to try luck in this Enterprise nearby and it was amazing. Even with no reservation they quickly set up a couple of good options for us. We rented a SUV for 7 during two days and then exchanged it for a small car for one more week. The staff realized we had a baby in our party and offered a small new SUV instead of the small sedan with no additional cost. We later had a small incident with it and scratched it but they made no fuss about it (we had payed for insurance) We loved the staff for their fast and warm service. Will definitively rent with them when visiting Vancouver again. read more

These guys are great. Hands down they have no competition anywhere at any price... And their prices are the best! They make renting a car so easy I don't see any reason to own a car if you don't need one everyday. The rental agents are excellent people geared to work in the best interest of their customers... At least me for sure. I can't imagine them not treating everyone as well as they treat me. I just call them and they pick me up from home and when I bring their rental back they give me a ride from their office back home again. Keeping a car longer is never a problem and the price per day has never been increased on me when I do that. They never try to sell me added insurance after I let them know I'm never going to buy any. And upgrades are generously provided if they have cars sitting around. I can't imagine being a happier custom shy of them cleaning my house while I'm away. Do not hesitate to stop in for a car! read more

This is my new go-to car rental. This place is like a well-oiled machine. One quick call and I had my reservation, then lightning-quick pick up and flawless drop-off. Price quotes were right on the money with no surprises. If you have ICBC Insurance, buy the ICBC GoldStar Package to have your insurance covered. Cars are picked up and must be returned with exactly half a tank of gas. While "filling up" the gas tank, I left the keys in the ignition and watched the dashboard gas level meter until it reached the halfway point. I then added a bit extra just to be safe in order to avoid any exorbitant extra charges. I highly recommend these guys. Totally professional. You will not be disappointed. read more

After having 2 Budget rent a car disasters i rented form Enterprise. I got there early and they said my Van wasnt ready yet and would be around 20 minutes to clean it. I went for a coffee and came back and they apologized for making me wait but i was early so really it was still early. They were warm and made me feel very welcome at the counter. I left thinking thats how you should be treated. My Minivan was newer with only 7000 km not like the 30000 plus thousand piece of crap Budget dt gave me. I only needed the van for around 7 hours for moving so when i came back they gave me a $10 discount and said it was because they made me wait. I walked out again thinking that is how you treat your customers and they did tell me if i find cheaper rates please let them know and they will beat. Trying to keep expenses down on an impromptu road trip from Vancouver to Vernon I called and got a rate of $14.95 per day. Seemed very inexpensive but booked anyways. Took transit to within 5 blocks of this location and found it easily. There were no cars available in the size I had requested so I was offered a free upgrade. All in all the customer service was exceptional. Even the delay (the car needed a wash) was easily overlooked as I witnessed above standard phone service while I waited. The quoted price was the price I paid. Note to islanders. This made it cheaper than taking my car on the ferry and I had the car for 3 days. I don't purchase the coverage as I am doubly covered through ICBC and MasterCard. read more

Prior to our trip this past weekend we made a reservation on-line, so all we did was walk in and tobe immediately greeted an assisted with our rental. The agent (Miram) that helped us was very friendly and got us out the door very quickly. We returned the car two days later with no hassle or delays. Recently rented a car from Poitiers, France. Returned it undamaged before opening hours (as arranged) only to receive an email ten hours later when we were back in the UK saying that the car was damaged. They've taken 1000 euros from our credit card but keep failing to send photos of the damage and a repair invoice. We've emailed them 4x, phoned twice (where they've promised to send photos immediately), but nothing. It's a scam. Our fault for not videoing or photographing the car when we returned it (as we usually do), I guess. But steer clear of Enterprise. read more

We cancelled our Richmond booking 'cause it was cheaper to book the car here. My good friend Scott and I booked a car to drive down to Seattle for the Faith No More show in Seattle. It costs $25 plus the requirement to fill the gas full tank for renting a car for the day = cheaper than a Greyhound. We wanted a smart car so that we could park easier in Seattle, however, they did not have the car we reserved so they upgraded up to a nice sports car. These people took every chance they could to rip us off. We were charged more than twice what we were quoted when we made the reservation. Also for international travelers, if you do not have a credit card (not debit or ATM card but credit card) then you can not rent a car from enterprise. We were so impressed with Enterprise Car Rental. We ordered small/medium sized vehicle and when we arrived it was definitely not going to be big enough to fit all our camping things for Squamish Music festival. The lovely lady managed to upgrade our car free of charge to a sedan style vehicle!! We brought the car back and realized that we hadn't filled it to a quarter tank like we were supposed to. Again the lovely lady who helped us the first time, obviously noticed how much we were struggling from the festival, let us leave the car there and told us not to worry and have a great day. We had a terrible experience here. We arrived and had reserved two cars. First, we had to call twice for pick up and we were left standing at the train station for over an hour for someone to arrive. Then we went back to the rental facility where we found that our car was not yet there (even though by this point it was well past the time we were supposed to pick it up). We waited for over an hour. Finally, I asked about getting a different car (and paying the additional money) for a car that was sitting outside, and we were told that it wasn't available. We waited another hour and finally they said that we could have the larger car that we had asked about if we paid the difference. Somehow that was now available. By that point our reserved car was still not there and we had been waiting three hours to rent the car so we took it. We only had one night to spend in Vancouver and most of our day was spent renting a car. Secondly, we were returning to the Canada Place location the following morning. When we asked about where to find that, we were told that it is impossible to miss. The next day we couldn't find it because it is located in the underground garage with NO signs. In fact, even the police that we asked said that people there always have trouble finding it because of that. We spent 2 hours stuck in cruise terminal traffic trying to locate it. In all, we wasted about 5 hours in a 24 hour time period dealing with the rental car. I would have preferred to take public transportation and save the time and hassle. UPDATE: I appreciate Enterprise posting a note for me to contact them so that they could look into this further. Unfortunately, my email to them went unanswered. It was apparently just an effort to publicly look like they are truly concerned about my bad review. read more
