Rented a vehicle from Sunday to Wednesday for an out of town conference. When I got to the location they told me the vehicle I reserved online is not available because they have to return it to the dealership. I rented an suv and they gave me a sedan, obviously if I wanted a sedan I'd choose that online. The sedan they gave me had a ton of damage to the body, both passenger rims were scraped, the rear passenger fender was dented, along of scratches all Over the vehicle. I check online while I was there and they still had the suv to book online. So obviously they are not doing their job properly in updating their vehicle inventory for that location. Keep in mind the he sedan they offered me was not wash and ready so I had to wait another 45 mins for it to be cleaned and prepped for me. I've rented with SIXTH in the past and had good experience this location just is not doing it. I will not be back to this location for sure. read more

Well, the sports car wouldn't fit a car seat, so I ended up spending $200 more to get a car. Had I not just been on a plane for several hours I would have started over with any other rental co. Here is one more bad review to add to the collection. It was bad enough not to have the car I reserved, but to be told I could either pay for an upgrade or cancel. (My car was in an accidient and I was dropped off here to pick up a rental for 2 days). I was stranded at the location and agrued with the sales rep. She tried to be helpful but her hands were tied by corporate policies. I had to call customer service from the lobby, and after being told the same thing by 2 reps, I finally got a third person to help. Using my phone, he gave Evelyn permission to give me a car at no extra charge. The car she tried to give me had a "hold" on it so we were back to square one. Fortunately, someone returned a car at the moment and Evelyn was able to put me in it. When I got a survey emailed to me, I filled it out noting my furstrations and still gave Evelyn 5 stars. This morning, I received a message from the manager, saying he'd like to meet me when I return the car. I thought he would apologize for the problem in person and all would be forgiven. WRONG! As I parked the car in the spot where I took it from, he came out and said "Returns are in the back to the right." I began to move it and he said "never mind, I'll do it." I asked if he was Mark. He said yes and I introduced myself and he said "I know, so tell me what happened Sunday?" Before I could finish he told me that he was angry with me about the rview and that I did not give Evelyn 5 Stars, as I promised. I told him I did, and he told me I did not. He said he could show me the review. I asked him to do so, but he did not. He also accused me of shopping neighboring rental locations and after not finding what I wanted, I came to SIXT. If he read my complaint and followed the timeline from my on-line reservation to the pick up, he'd know better. There was no excuse for this behavior. Nobody wanted to help us in the slightest and just kept saying we should have read the fine print. To Whom it may concern: I have used your services over 15 times previously, and was extremely disappointed with how things were handled yesterday concerning reservation #9708374587. Yesterday at approx. 10:30 am, I reserved a car and paid in advance for a 3pm pickup yesterday. I arrive at the Pompano Beach office a few minutes before 3pm, and the employee tells me I am blacklisted, and he cannot rent me a car. I was completely surprised and asked why. Employee said, "call this 1-888 number and find out, I don't know and can't help you". Obviously, this is a huge surprise to me or why would I book and prepay for a rental car. I called the number, and I am on hold for approx. 10-15 minutes and the call is answered. I explained the situation to the customer care agent, and she states there is a claim. I ask when and what is the claim is, and the agent states she has no idea. She states that she could email the claims department, and someone would get back to me. Not sure if she completed this or not. At this time, I asked her to refund my prepaid dollar amount from this morning because Sixt was now refusing to provide the service requested. The agent stated she would process a refund immediately. No refund has been processed as on this time as per my credit card company. I am requesting this refund be processed in full as no service was provided. In fact, service was denied with no explanation. I have never received any information regarding a claim at all through emails or calls. Yesterday's call center agent was unable to provide any timely assistance. The majority of my interactions with Sixt were when my daughter was in college, and we had season football tickets for 4 years. Every game that we attended we used your company. This was several years ago. After this entire interaction took place, I reviewed my most recent interaction with Sixt. I had a reservation for 5/5/23 with a pickup of 11am, reservation #9929822849. Again, I chose the prepay option because at this time I am totally unaware if there is a claim or bad recordkeeping on Sixt's part. Unfortunately, my father had a heart attack the evening before, and we had to cancel our rental car. My father was hospitalized for 5 weeks. I have email confirmation from Sixt stating we could expect a refund minus the cancelation fee. We totally understood this, and thought the situation was handled correctly at the time. Reviewing this, no refund was ever provided even through there is an email from Sixt stating to expect within 3 to 10 business days. I would definitely request someone to call, 615-481-2071, to resolve these multiple concerns: no communication concerning claim, possibly bad record keeping on Sixt's part. still allowing myself to book twice with prepay option if I am supposedly blacklisted twice being verbally told and through email that refunds were to be provided that never occurred. It might even be smart to take a video of the car inside and out real quick to make sure there are no issues upon return. If I had to choose between riding a donkey or rent a car from this Sixt (this location in particular), I would now choose the donkey. A few months ago, my wife and I rented a basic car ( was pictured as a Mini cooper when booked but got a Hyundai instead, tricked again by their "class only" picks but never mind that) and to ensure we would be covered in case something happened to the rental, we opted for the "Zero liability" option. Wouldn't you know it, the car drives on something like a nail and the tire blows out on the highway. We were able to get roadside assistance but are now being asked to pay 108$ for the tire and 30$ for some other nonsense fee. When asked why we would have to pay since we purchased the already expensive "Zero liability" coverage, they gave me the excuse that it doesn't cover roadside accidents. Like, excuse me? Then it's not a a zero liability coverage and you lied and deceived. They sent me a bill to "kindly pay" and an email to the claims department to contest the charge, and I did contest it. I also let them know that I wouldn't deal with Sixt anymore if they go through with charging me for something I shouldn't have to pay for but I haven't gotten a response from them. I do not recommend Sixt. They deceive you with the car classes, they straight up call their packages something that they are not, they hide their cheap models behind pictures of nicer cars of the same class and have the audacity to make up nonsense excuses. They will no longer receive my business and this review is here to stay unless they start acting more reasonable and solve this matter. Hertz hasn't treated me wrong yet, I'll go to them instead and recommend anyone to do the same if you don't like being treated like a fool. read more

I just had a terrible experience with this sixt location. I rented a car 2 weeks ago, just for 1 day, to be dropped off at Miami Airport on the following day. The operator, Daniel, tried to push me to upgrade the vehicle which I didn't want to, and then really pushy on buying their insurance which I didn't do as well. He gave me a small receipt with 8 reported scratches and marks all over the Toyota Camry I was assigned but I was in a rush and didn't check the conditions of the vehicle accurately . I drove the car to my house (5 minutes away) and put it in my garage overnight. I always drive very carefully and I'm sure I didn't do any damage. As a result when I dropped it off at the airport, the operator went straight to that scratch on the front bumper driver side which of course was not noted on the receipt....! My complaint was not even considered and now, as a result, they want me to pay $380! Free tip: either stay away from sixt (best option) or make sure you take pictures of the whole vehicle before picking it up. I never experienced this kind of treatment from any other big rental company and my favorite still remains Hertz. My mistake, next time I won't use these scammers anymore! read more

Hands down the worst place to rent a car in the Pompano Beach/Fort Lauderdale area. They don't even really deserve one star, but as you can't give 0 stars and leave a review I was forced. I will NEVER EVER rent from this place ever again. My wife rented the car on Sunday, July 21st for a family trip. She rented the vehicle for a week, but after getting sick we cancelled the trip and returned the car the VERY next day. Prior to dropping the car we called to verify that we would get a refund - we were advised that as long as we did not "pre-pay" prior to picking up the car we would receive a full refund. This morning we drop off car and the woman received it advised us we were not going to be receiving the refund and were charged $150 for the rental. $150 for 12 hours. $150 hours and the car went from South Pompano Beach to Old Pompano Beach. $150 and the car was driven 2 miles. 2 miles round trip. During the inspection the woman tried to ding us for scratches - we recorded video when we picked up the car. During the whole interaction the woman was very rude. Be aware of this place. They are not upfront with you when it comes to the rental. "They won't let you pick up the car if you plan to drive outside the rental area." They will let you pick it up and they did let her pick it up. Check the restrictions before you pick up the car. Our trip would have been an EXTRA $1,000 due to their insane $0.50 per mile for the duration of their rentals. If renting in Florida you can't drive anywhere other than Alabama or Georgia, but if you rent from GA you can drive up to North Carolina?!? Makes no sense. Bottom line do not rent from here. I will be writing to corporate as well. Horrible experience, inconsistent responses from customer service (phone) to the store, and rude employees in store. read more

The WORST rental car experience I've ever had. I reserved a Jeep Grand Cherokee or same group for my SIXT+ Subscription for a rental period of one month (Jan 3 to Jan 31 2020), but they didn't have the same group of car. The attendant gave me a car one size group less than what I reserved and told me that I can swap it out the next day for the group I reserved. She told me that SIXT customer service would call me to take care of the swap, but no call or email from anyone until I called their customer service the next day, and they said that they don't have a the group I requested because of high demand. I tried to cancel my reservation and get a refund for the rest of the rental period, but everyone I spoke to just "escalated" my case to someone else. I called the SIXT location (1366 S Federal) number that the attendant gave me when I checked out the car and said that it's her direct number, but it goes straight to endless telephone music. Now I'm on the hook for $1000+ with no one to help me with swapping out the car or with cancelling my reservation. I understand that rental companies run out of specific cars, but every rental company I have rented from so far have always upgraded me to higher group of vehicles when they didn't have the group I reserved, but not SIXT. You might think a big company like Sixt would spend a little time training their staff. No way. When I picked up my car at the airport the counter person told me mostly incorrect information which he invented. This was for a 40 day rental and he said I had to bring the car back after 28 days to get it SERVICED. What BS. Rather than the car to the airport after 28 days for a new contract as I was instructed I went to the Sixt office on Federal Hwy in Pompano. The manager needs to be trained in customer service, to say the least. While changing the contract I asked if they could vacuum the car because it had a lot of sand in it. This is a FIVE minute request, which was denied. I've rented from them too many times and this was a 40 day rental so this was a minor request but they have a "don't help any client" mentality, so I left. Initially the car requested was not available and apparently the gas station trigger for a full tank was not sufficient from their perspective, so I had to go back to the gas station carrying my luggage to refill the $0.60 that was over the limit from the gas station's perspective. So risk a spill or not?! Additionally no handicap access or ability to roll in luggage. But a great willingness to stare at you while you struggle to open the door while carrying a giant bag. I have been renting with Sixth for about 18 years with only minor issues until this past week. I rented a full-size Range Rover for five days. When I picked up the car in the lot, I inspected the car and was a bit disappointed when I saw significant scrapes on both sides and a ding in the driver's side passenger door. I stopped at the booth before exiting the lot and suggested the attendant look at the car for all the damaged areas. She replied 'read your contract," very abruptly. I told her I had no contract since when I was at the desk, their computers were down, and the agent could not take credit card payments. I left the desk with the number of the spot the car was in, and that was it. There were several couples at the booth when I spoke to the rude clerk about looking at the damages, and they told me, "why not take a pic with the sixth sign in the background, which I did, but they all didn't come out. When I got off the plane in Boston, I noticed an email from Sixth informing me of several damages to the car, which I would be responsible for. When returning the car, the woman I returned the keys to walked around the car, smiled, and gave me the receipt. To rent a car in this category, you had to put a $2,500 deposit on your card. How convenient now they have $2,500 to fix all the sins of customers before me and all the dents and scratches. I have written back and absolutely deny that I was responsible for any damages and furthermore want to see the photos of the areas in question. This is not to happen according to Sixth. This is a total scam that I will report to the Better Business Bureau and seek a quick resolution.
