AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID WARNING…read moreEnterprise kinsale road, Cork took 2 deposits of 250 euro from my account. In total 500 euro. This was due to an extension of car rental. I got one deposit of 250 back, was then told I wouldn't get the second back with a load of waffle and add ons to try and not pay ot back, one being that the guy who approved the add on was new and made a mistake. I'm appalled and shocked that enterprise kindale Road roundabout stole thos money from my account. I have all the evidence and will get my money back but I will do everything to highlight this to people so the same does not happen to them. Please please avoid and be aware. I flew into Cork from the U.S. last week, and had reserved a car online from this branch. I was met…read morein person by two agents, Fiona and Kieran, who were stupendously helpful. They got me into a good car, helped cart and load my heavy bags (of which there were many, because I'm staying for a few months), and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I felt very secure getting on the road for my first Ireland driving adventure after talking with them. I rented an economy car that turned out to be rather roomy (4 doors and hatchback), and was nearly new-- only 4000km on it when I drove off. The price for the manual transmission car was very reasonable! Fiona carefully explained my insurance options, and I opted for the additional coverage which lowers the excess (deductible) to 100 euros from the standard 1800 euros. It seemed worth it for the extra peace of mind. I brought a Garmin GPS from home, into which I'd downloaded an Ireland map, and was good to go! Enterprise offers a 24-help line here if you have an accident or the car has mechanical problems. All in all, this has been a stellar car-rental experience, and I hope to deal with Fiona and Kieran again when I renew the rental at the end of the month. Updated: I went back to turn in my car and get another one (28-day rental limit), and had a different kind of experience. - Before coming in, I received three emails in the morning from the manager David asking me to switch days because there were no Class B cars on the lot (I had pre-paid for Class B). That was impossible for me because I'm living two hours from Cork City, and my schedule is quite full. He finally offered to let me keep the car I was currently using (a Class C car.) I spent €8 on a car wash and completely topped off the tank shortly before I arrived, thinking I was keeping that car. - When I arrived, David and Aiden (another employee) told me that did have another car for me after all. They put me into a VW Up, which I realized only later is a Class A car, but I'd prepaid for a Class B. It seems that David had no problem downgrading me to class of car, but for some reason, did not want to honor our prior agreement (which I have saved in email) for me to keep the Ford Focus (Class C.) I've emailed to ask him whether there will be an adjustment for the difference in price since I paid for a larger class car, but he has not replied. To be honest, it's not the downgrade that I mind so much as the fact that they didn't tell me what was happening. - The VW gas tank was only a quarter full (and took unleaded petrol). This was a bummer, as my drive home is very long. A quarter tank was not sufficient. When I expressed disappointment at this, Aiden said "We only have a diesel tank on site, just return the car with a quarter tank." That was not the point. The point is that it's an extra inconvenience for me, the customer. - I received an email the day after all of this and replied with the concerns above. I received a reply from a person who did not sign their name, in which they gave an odd defense of David's decision-making (it suggested that since I had been upgraded to a class C car in the past, I shouldn't complain about the downgrade...as if those two things were in any way connected.) I also have reason to suspect that it was David the manager himself who replied to my email (in which he references himself in the third person), and which I suspect is why the email was not signed. That was concerning. Bottom line: I'm now of two minds on this agency and location. I think your experience here will be reflective of which employees helps you, and whether they are customer-service oriented or more focused on the company's bottom line.

Most of the time you drop off your rental car at the same place you picked it up but not always…read more And that was exactly my case in this instance. This is a 2 part review - the drop off & the pick up (sounds like a spy movie!). The drop off...... Originally picked up the rental car at the Dublin Airport with the drop off being at the Cork Airport & dropping off my rental car couldn't have been any easier. There is a gas station conveniently located just before you get to Hertz so filling up the car prior to drop off is a breeze so there's no need to pay that enormous amount that rental car agencies charge to fill up the tank. You know what I mean, you only used 1/8 or 1/4 of a tank but they charge you for a full tank of gas at double the price per gallon. But with this gas station right there you can save yourself the hassles & fill'er up before dropping off. The people at this location were nice, friendly & helpful. Once they completed my check in it was just a small wait for their shuttle to take us to the Cork Airport just up the road. After being dropped off at the airport is when the employees of this agency went above & beyond. We tried to check in at the airport when my daughter discovered she couldn't find her passport, then the light bulb came on. We went to the courtesy desk and was able to make phone calls to the 2 locations we had spent the night prior to coming to the airport. Both locations did not find her passport. We then walked to where all the rental car agencies were located inside the airport, talked the woman (forgot her name) that was working the desk for Hertz. Explained what happened & showed her the paperwork I had got when turning the car in. She called down to the lot where all cars are located, low & behold there was the passport in the middle arm rest between the 2 front seats, they rushed straight away to the airport to bring us the passport. Great customer service. The pick up...... Upon our return to Cork we checked in with the rental car agency in the airport which was smooth & easy. No trying to upsell the type of vehicle, etc. Only question was whether or not we needed a GPS which we did. During our conversation I had mentioned we were driving to Waterford for the night then to Belfast the next morning for a few days & would drop the car off at the Dublin airport. They said it was a good thing I mentioned Belfast as their tracking system would've said I had stolen the car once I crossed the border into Northern Ireland. (Phew - wiping sweat off my brow at this point). So they did their magic to say I was traveling into the U.K. and that was that. After all the paperwork we were shuttled down to the car lot, inspected the vehicle & then off we went. Definitely a good experience all around.

Picked up a car at Dublin Airport & our vehicle immediately start experiencing technical issues…read more The brakes are squeaking so loudly that people are staring at us as we drive through Cashel. After some back and forth, we were advised to go do a change over at the Cork Airport Hertz. The clerk was so rude! He was incredibly snarky when we were understandably upset with the limited car selection - after he had LITERALLY just been badmouthing the car in front of us! His coworker said, "It's hybrid, that's a nice car" and the rude attendant said, "It's really not a nice car at all". I tried to take a photo of the receipt he had my partner sign, and he yanked it away and did not let me take a photo. Incredibly unprofessional!
