This is about to be the longest review I've written yet, but let me preface this by saying I work for an automotive dealership group and the way I was treated here was absolutely unacceptable. Let me also preface this by saying, I don't want to include Everett in this review because he went above and beyond for me to get me in a loaner the night my car overheated two days ago. Quite frankly, he is the only reason this review has 2 stars. My car tends to overheat and idle about once a year. Tuesday was the day this happened, during rush hour, on 540. I called my dad and he told me to give this place a call as it was the closest shop to my location. So I did, and Everett was happy to drive to me and pour coolant in my car. Upon starting it and realizing it was not doing anything helpful, he had me pull my car off the road (but to a spot where the tow truck could access it) and drove us back to the shop. Beyond that part, everything started going downhill. Multiple red flags while I was in that shop for an hour waiting for my car to be towed to the shop. From less than a mile away. I was locked inside the waiting area while the last two people working there went off and did God-knows-what. I didn't realize the door was locked until another customer came up and pulled on the door. That sent me into a panic. All of my stuff was in the loaner car that I was given for the night, while I was locked inside. No one said they were going to lock the door, they just disappeared. Prior to this, one of the technicians was voraciously hitting on me, almost cornering me so I couldn't go outside. It was so uncomfortable and awkward. I can understand someone saying I look nice, but this guy was just going on and on about how beautiful I was and some other things I won't repeat here. Another problem was that I was told my car wouldn't even be LOOKED at until the following Monday. So, six days of my car just sitting outside. The loaner situation made it a little less aggravating, but I have NEVER been told it was going to be a week and them still assume I'm going to use their service. Absolutely not! You should've told me then and there that I could be serviced faster elsewhere. The loaners are old as dirt. I drove an old, scratched-up Subaru Forester for about 24 hours before I had to swap it the next evening, because the Subaru was reserved for someone else on Thursday and "the boss had taken the other loaner home." What?! The next evening, I brought the Subaru back to exchange it for a 20-year-old Audi station wagon. All the buttons were rubbed off. I had no idea how to drive it, or control anything (including the AC) in the car. The mirrors wouldn't fix. Both cars had between 160,000-190,000 miles on them and normal license plates, not loaner plates. Seems to me I was given someone's primary vehicle. Sketchy as all get-out. My last problem was the girl who was working the front desk both times I brought loaners back at about 5pm both times. She was so rude to me, and was more interested in her phone than helping me. Her back was turned to me both times I was inside the shop. I had to say "Excuse me" to get her attention. Basically threw the keys at me and didn't even bother to offer assistance. Today, I decided I wasn't going to pursue service with this place, after reflecting on all of the interactions and weird red flags I had received over the last two days. The first thing the same girl from yesterday said to me when I walked in was "did you put gas back in it?" Hon. I only had it for less than 24 hours and drove maybe 10 miles. I have been put in loaners before and this was the WORST experience I've had. Virtually no paperwork, no inspections, no insurance check, nothing. And THE RUDEST customer service to boot. As I said before, I work for an automotive dealership group so I had my car towed to one of our service departments. I would never give these people my business again, even if my car was on fire. read more

I think this is service and gas station is an asset to the surrounding community. I have found more nails in my tires within the past two years, probably more than I have holding my deck together. As a result of collecting these wonderful road trophies I have driven into this service station several times for assistance. Each time they literally told me to pull the car up and had someone handle it right away at a very reasonable cost. They also have air hoses at the gas pump and they do not charge for the air like many other stations do out there. I think it is not only petty but quite ridiculous to be charged 1.50 for air and am grateful I stop here to top off the air in my tires if needed. The staff are always friendly and helpful! read more

I have no idea why this place has high ratings. I took my 2012 Ford Edge there b/c of the ratings. This place is a joke. They seem like con artists to me. I needed a brake inspection, as my brakes had become "soft". They charged me $63 for the inspection and told me my car needed a new ABS system at a $1700 price tag. I left thinking there is no way in hell the ABS is bad. Got a second opinion and turned out to be the master cylinder. My husband replaced it for less than $200. I'm all about supporting the locally owned guys, but when stuff like this happens, forget about it!! You lost my trust and respect. read more

Crooks. Do not take your car in here for car registration/emission check. Told me I needed a bulb, which I did not. Also, told me that my windows were over the limit on my factory bought car. Not true! I had to wait about an hour for them to rip me off. I went in the past and I've went again to jiffy lube. In and out in minutes, no hassle. read more

I took my car to Six Forks Exxon for a diagnostic test and repair (related to a check engine light). The diagnosis must have been incorrect because the repair didn't solve the problem. The check engine light is back. I emailed twice and was ignored so I stopped by the shop and asked to speak with the service manager. I asked the service manager to consider a refund of the nearly $200 repair bill or to apply some of that bill to getting me a correct diagnosis and an actual repair. The manager would not consider either option. He was completely dismissive, didn't want to hear about the problem, and certainly didn't think he had any responsibility to make it right. I've given them some money over the years. No more. Words of advice: Steer clear! read more

Someone in my family brought our car here after it wouldn't start. They put in a new starter and recommended an alternator belt. Almost $500. Drove it 2 miles from the house, it wouldn't start. Finally, it started, brought it back in. They only replaced the alternator belt. Over $100 more. The steering wheel was shaking a lot. Didn't feel safe to drive around with it. Took it to a different mechanic and the car is working fine so far. read more

I had a great experience here. I happened to stop for gas and when I read the sign inspections done here it triggered I needed one. I walked in and asked when they could take me and the manager didn't hesitate he took me right then and there. They were busy and he easily could have told me a different time but he went above and beyond to accommodate me. Thank you, I know I have a place to go to trust my vehicle with. read more

First time using these folks and HIGHLY recommend them! Stopped by to inquire about their services and if they could help me with a 2006 Chevy Colorado that had a fuel leak. They said yes. Had the truck towed on my appt date, they fixed it in a few hours and charged less than $170 for labor and a new hose. They were polite and professional and the service manager even sent me a text a week later just to make sure I was happy with everything. Will def use again. read more

This is the place to go if you want to get ripped off have your car damaged. I brought my Jeep here with a busted water pump. It took 2 days to get my car back, never repaired. Immediately after this "repair" my car began overheating. I noticed that the coolant reservoir was empty. I refilled it and returned to this Exxon to see what was wrong. They initially tried to charge me $60 to evaluate their own work. Once I made it clear that this charge was unacceptable to evaluate their own service, I brought my Jeep back. I spent 2 hours waiting while the mechanic looked at my car, came inside and did Google searches about this repair, went back to my car, then Googled some more. Clearly, he was HIGHLY incompetent. At the end of 2 hours he could not determine where my car was leaking coolant and told me that he refilled the coolant and it must just have had a "air pocket" which caused the reservoir to empty. I left realizing that having a repair here was a huge mistake. Within a a short time, again the reservoir was empty. I was afraid to return to my car to this Exxon, but I had exhausted my funds on this repair. I maintained my fluid level until I could take my car to the Jeep dealership, where I learned that the water pump and installation had been done incorrectly and I was going to have to have it replaced, AGAIN. I called and spoke with Phil at the Exxon who stated that he would only refund me for the cost of the pump itself, and that was contingent on my returning it to him. By bringing him the removed pump he can return it and get a refund himself. He stated my only other alternative was to let them put in yet another pump. Clearly, after this Exxon's two unsuccessful attempts at repairing my car, I would never have the confidence to allow them to touch my car again. read more

Get to know the owner of businesses you favor! I like how the staff is always the same when I stop by. They don't know me by name or anything, I drive a Mazda afterall, but I like the mom-and-pop feel of this place for an Exxon when i do need a tuneup or regular maintence. read more

Great experience from a great team. After car emergency, they calmed me down and assured me that they'd do their best to service the car quickly, though they were very busy. Then they did just that! One star is too much for this place. Paid about $1600 in parts and labor to repair a 1997 Corolla that was in good running condition and less than 130,000 miles on it with a book value of about $1,100. Was able to drive the car about another 300 miles and it still would not start. They did not offer one cent of credit and did not stand behind any warranty for their so called work. Had to sue them in small claims court (File No. 16cv 10041) which a judge agreed and I was able to get back $650 but I lost a car as they could not get it to start. Unless you need gas or a tire change, I would find a service station that will warrant their work. read more
