Everyone was Polite, Professional and staff willingness to give directions if needed was appreciated Parking attendants was helpful, The park was clean and in order the rides was functional properly. And the staff for rides did a good job explaining what would happened before and after the ride ended. We seen all four shows talented dancers did a great job Engaging the audience and was very exciting . Staff helping to assist in and out of the shows also did a great job. Mascot was friendly and patient also. The Park will soon be closing I wish the best to all the employees Thank you for making this a memorable experience on my Mom and Daughter days out. It's sad to see Six Flags go (it'll be closing at the end of the 2025 season). I went for one last hurrah earlier in June and suggest you do the same! Daily tickets are going for about $30-$40 and parking was about $30 per car. Still a solid value if you're looking for a fun day activity. While some areas of the park clearly need TLC, other sections are still vibrant and exciting. We spent about 2 hours in the theme park section and saw a fun stunt show, rode 3 of the classic coasters, and went on a few other rides like swings and bumper cars. The futuristic-renaissance area was pretty lively; a lot of guests roamed the rides, shops, and stalls which made the atmosphere fun. As we walked around, we did see many abandoned restaurants and stalls, which makes sense for a theme park that is soon closing. With decreased guest attendance, I'm sure it just makes more sense to close some spots down. The hurricane harbour area was still alot of fun - most of the slides and stalls were open and available for use. There was even one slide (back towards the wave pool) that seemed new-ish and well updated. The wave pool was clean and wasn't too crowded overall. We ended up spending most of the day on these water rides (which was great because it was HOT out). Shoutout to Six Flags for being a PG County staple over the years. read more

It's not a surprise that this park is closing. A lot of rides are already closed. A lot of the dining options are also already closed. There are a lot of 3x and 4x shirts in the shop, but almost no L. It is a shame to see any park close....but if they're going to close one this is a good choice. I grew up coming to this park, but after moving far away, I hadn't visited since 2012. I heard it's closing down at the end of the season, so this past Friday I drove up to Maryland to reminisce and enjoy one last visit. I got in for free using my Knott's Berry Farm season pass. I didn't have to pay for parking with my pass, but I noticed the parking employees were waving everybody into the lot and not bothering to charge anyone. The park was very clean and free of trash. While some parts of the park have seen better days, some areas looked great. The old western area stood out, it's obvious it was fixed up very recently. Other areas of the park looked pretty much exactly the same as they did 20 years ago. A fair amount of rides didn't open the entire day, including Batwing, Penguin's Blizzard River, Wonder Woman swing, the Psyclone scrambler, and the river rapids ride. The Wild One didn't open until around 2 in the afternoon. The Ragin Cajun was open at some points, but seemed to be having trouble all day. All of the coasters that were open only had one train going, but the park was almost empty and there weren't any lines. I was pleasantly surprised at how well some of the coasters were running. Superman and Joker's Jinx were very smooth, no roughness at all. The Wild One, considering it's over 100 years old, runs like a champ. I have to give props to the staff. I was impressed with how upbeat and friendly the ride operators were. They were working efficiently and dispatching trains without delay. My only big gripe with the park is how many of the restaurants were closed. I don't eat when I'm at parks, but it was a challenge finding places to get soda refills for my unlimited soda deal. I had an excellent day at Six Flags America. I'm happy my final memories here were positive ones. I had a lot of fun here growing up, and I'm going to miss it. Actually quite surprised this place has a good amount of people visiting on the weekends. It was a random weekend, but I still had to wait a bit for some rides. Not a ton of waiting like the summer time and during its prime time when I was little. I think this place has been well maintained and staffed. Plenty of staff everywhere. Lots to do and it's a large location to walk around for one day. The staff are nice and very accommodating. I do love all the safety checks before each ride. Made me feel safe. One downside is that the rides do show signs of aging. They operate fine, just that you can tell it has been some time. One ride, I remember as a kid. I was shocked it was still operating. Another is the food is really limited and pricey. But that is actually expected. Simple supply and demand. It was a fun experience as an adult. I felt a bit too big for the seats though so it seems more catering to teenagers. read more

Heard the unfortunate news about Six Flags closing after the end of this season in early November. I went 1 time in August 2016. I had some fun especially on the water rides on that hot day. It didn't seem the park was very well maintained, and I had higher expectations for a Six Flags amusement park. I went to Six Flags over Texas when I was kid in the 90's, and it was a great amusement park. I also don't like how Six Flags charges for parking well outside DC or even the beltway; parking should be free. Luckily, the friend I went with had a season pass and got free parking as a perk. On a positive, the crowds were light and was able to ride a lot of rides without having to wait long. read more

Decided to go say farewell. I wasn't impressed. A lot of rides were closed. Had to pay to go to the water park. Wanted to get a souvenir cup but was told the entire park was out. Ended up getting a regular cup however there were no lids or straws. This was never my favorite place to go but decided to chance it. I can see why this place is closing. read more

BE CAREFULL if you purchase things online. Their ordering system appears to be all messed up. We purchased three - one day tickets with the all day eat and drink (you can get a meal every 90 minutes all day) and when the workers scanned the ticket - it came up as only two meals allowed. Ripped us off. Then we renewed three season passes and took the offer that gave us a free all season drink cup also, however when we got to the park, we were told our season passes did not have an all season drink bottle. Luckily in both cases we were either able to show physically online where it stated what we were supposed to get or show the physical print out (for the one day tickets) that clearly stated a meal every 90 minutes and the staff were very accommodating. It's closing soon, no kidding . Almost every ride was CLOSED! I got on 2 roller coasters, there are nine. One of them was a very bumpy wooden roller coaster that hurt my head very bad, don't ride the Wild One! Jokers Jinx was alright but not amazing. The entire Superman/batman part of the park was CLOSED. On the train ride (which only has one train and takes forever to get to the station) we saw the Superman/batman part. The kid rides were literally taken apart and laid out like they were going to sell it. merch was good, but why would you buy merch for a bad park. Front entrance was cool, I wish the rest of the park was as grand as the front. NO SHADE and FEW BATHROOMS. Staff were nice. read more

Well, well, well, Six Flags of America is closing. No surprise here- this place reeked of poor customer service, closed rides, trash-ridden bathrooms, senior mis-management, and overall the place you avoid and instead drive 3-4 hours to Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens, or Hershey Park. In all seriousness, it's quite a shame the Six Flags franchise couldn't read all the Yelp reviews and realize this place was in trouble in large part because park management and staff felt they could treat their customers any way they wanted and still remain open. I have friends who absolutely would not step into the gates of the park because they knew how compromised this place had become. Lack of care on behalf of park management to maintain at least the minimal standards in customer care, cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and simple courteousness all did this park in. The other thing was price- they undercharged customers, at least for season passes. How can you charge someone under $100 for unlimited access to enter all season long is beyond me; well, it actually isn't now, because they're essentially going belly-up. Somebody didn't do prudent bean-counting. All-in-all it's a shame Six Flags couldn't adhere to simple business practices to make this a successful park. They were forewarned, but some people live in a world where you do your own thing, and everything and everyone else be damned. I hope what ever comes into this property next learns the lesson that Six Flags of America never did. read more

Came here with my teen daughter over spring break weekend 2025. Reasonable ticket prices, although the parking is almost as much as a ticket. The food in the park is pretty subpar but not extremely overpriced. Lines were very long which is understandable since it was spring break. But a lot of guests of the park were just....odd lol. For example, we were waiting in line to get on a ride and a full fledged fight broke out. I almost got knocked down. I don't even know what they were fighting about but it was unsettling when I was just trying to go have a fun time with my daughter lol. Aside from that it wasn't too bad. read more

I'm always looking for fun things to do with my 18 month old and I get excited when I find a fun thing to do I like to try to help other parents and we had a BLAST yesterday at Six Flags America! I didn't think we would have enough to do for kids her age but there was more than enough to do ( and there will be way more to do once the summer comes and the other half of the park opens) They had characters dancing and singing and trick or treat stops and a station to paint pumpkins ($5) $59 per ticket ( kids under 3 free ) and they last for a whole year (they also have a Christmas event which I'll definitely be checking out ) read more

Superman- closed Penguin splash ride- closed (first time we saw it open all season and 2 tubes were allowed through before it shut down Wild one-closed Riddler- closed I laugh at the flash pass as a majority of rides are literally walk on. Why spend extra money when the longest wait is maybe 20 minutes!? They did spruce things up a bit for Halloween and offered a few nice extras, but didn't do a good job of highlighting them. We knew there was a candy trail but it wasn't listed in any maps or included on any signs. Someone in the park mentioned it because she saw my young daughter (not an employee). If they aren't going to hand out maps, they should include important information at the front gate. read more

Went here for the first and last time back in August. It was relatively crowded but most of the rides were either walk on or short waits. I wasn't able to ride Batwing (RIP Vekoma Flying Dutchman) or Superman RoS as they were closed and skipped Ragin Cajun but was able to ride the other coasters. Roar was rough yet enjoyable. Wild One was the main reason for coming so I could get the credit and for it's age, it was very enjoyable and it will be missed if it isn't relocated. Firebird was okay but rough.Joker's Jinx was fun. SkyWinder was horribly rough, though I was in the backseat so it may have been different had I been in a different row, my train actually got stuck on the lifthill which should have been the first clue as to the impending ride experience. Merch selection was subpar but given the circumstances it is understandable. A nice little park that will be missed, As an ACE member I'm glad I was able to make it here and I never like when a park closes for good. read more

The park was decent for what it is. We travel from New Jersey to check out park because we had the diamond pass. Its not as busy as New jersey which was a relief. Although some rides we waited a little longer, but most rides the wait wasn't that bad. The water park is within the park and not separated like the one in New Jersey which was good we didn't have to drive back out. As for the water park, some rides were closed completely or closed for renovation. This made the other remaining rides had longer lines. At least 3 attractions were closed during our summer 2023 visit. I do agree with some of the other reviews where the employees looked like they didn't want to be there. They were not rude, but looked very disinterested and unfriendly. I'm not expecting Disney World happiness but make an effort at least. At least my kids were able to go on some of the rides there. Its okay to spend a day there if you are in area for other things. read more

Of the other three Six Flags parks that I have visited, Six Flags of America wasn't as great. Ok, so Six Flags America has everything needed for the the Six Flags brand - roller coasters, a water park, limited shade, expensive food and beverage, rambunctious kids and teens, etc. However, for me, there was something missing. To be honest, I would have assumed that there would be more thrill roller coasters. Unlike the other Six Flags that I have visited, you probably could ride all of the major rides in one day, or rather in a half day. Appearance wise, I thought the park was a bit outdated compared to other Six Flag theme parks. A lot of the paint jobs looked pretty faded as if there was limited upkeep during the off season. Also, there were sections of the park that were completely deserted as if they haven't been used for a few years. Judging by the crowds, it seemed as if more folks come to Six Flags America for the water park and not the actual amusement park. I guess that was a positive thing for us because the lines for the roller coasters were not too bad. I think we waited about 30 minute for the major roller coasters. For a weekend visit in mid June, I thought it was a bit odd that they park was open from 11 am to only 7 pm. I would have assumed that the park would stay open until 10 pm at least. Perhaps, this park does not have enough staff to cover longer hours. Overall, I thought the customer service at the park was pretty good. The bartender at the New Orleans bar was really fun. We had a meal at Jonny Rockets, and the food was edible ... not that I was expecting an amazing dining experience at an amusement park. Also, I thought the park was pretty clean with the exception of the restrooms. I'm not really sure how the sinks were dirtier than the floors. Actually, I think this issue falls more on some customers that believe they are too good to clean up after themselves. Fortunately for us, we took advantage of a summer sale where a season pass was around $60 dollars, which is pretty cheap when you think about current admission prices for amusement parks. I guess we'll will be back in the near future to check out Hurricane Harbor and to get a ROI on our investment. Final thoughts, I think this park is fine if you live within an hour from it. Put it like this if I was equidistance from Six Flags America or Six Flags Adventure in New Jersey, I'd definitely would go to the one in Jersey. read more

Six rides broke down on us after we waited 30+ minutes in line, the place is falling apart!:(

This place pulls the word "hood" from "hoodwinked" and embraces it. Not only does it cost you a small pension to get in but what you get is not worth it. The attitude from the majority of the staff is unacceptable and unwelcoming. From the moment I arrived I should have guessed it would be down hill until rock bottom but then someone broke out a jack hammer and went deeper. The gate entrance for vehicles does not move cars very well but instead dumps you off at the first gate at to only far left gates leaving the far right unused and difficult to navigate to. But that is not the worst part. Once you are inside the area is falling apart. The Batmobile on display is a rust bucket with two flat tires for example. The meal plan seems like a great deal but even though the plan and the app on your phone says it is accepted at "X" restaurant, it is not at some places that says it is. This makes getting the already expensive food a challenge and everyone seems to have a huge chip on their shoulder. Then the rides seem alright so some stars there but the people working them, again horrible attitude. Back to food now, I stopped for pizza and they accepted my voucher for food but attitude again and the two drink machines are not working and of the 27 tables 8 had no chats at them. I was chatting with corporate thought this experience via their website and they directed me to guest relations who was kind but the only thing they could do was offer me a cup of water from a huge water thermos. No partial refund no nothing, just a small cup of water. I have been here five hours of my planned 10 hour visit and I just want to go home but I spent so much money getting to this point I feel obligated to stay. I just read the park is closing down in November. It just seemed to struggle over the years. Not kept up ,rides always closed, poor food establishments, unruly patrons (putting it mildly). It is time to dedicate those 500 acres for a more beneficial use. Hopefully it will include most parks and green space. read more

I was so surprised by the reviews here, where it made me skeptical to go to the park because I haven't been in years. We're avid visitors to Busch gardens and kings dominion, so we wanted to switch it up a little. The park was clean, we saw staff constantly cleaning too. Tons of rides for kids were open (my son is 4 and rode a lot). There were coasters open. Some were closed because it was super windy. The park wasn't very busy, which was great! Lines were very short. We spent all day there and had a blast. Every staff member was friendly and attentive. The dancing show (totally forgot the name) was amazing! I do agree that it needs a little TLC, just a fresh coat of paint throughout the park. But the price for the ticket and everything inside the parks are similar in price to kings dominion, which is way more reasonable than Busch gardens in my opinion. read more

I always find it hard to believe when a business has a low rating and have to see for myself. Sadly, this place's average rating is pretty accurate. I had not been here in decades. The last time that I was here, this place was Wild World (now I am dating myself). I believe that it was called Adventure World after that. They have a huge parking lot, but they charge an astronomical $35 fee to park, which I think is outrageous. The park is staffed with some very young people. A few a nice and helpful, most are either quiet or downright rude. This guy that was working the kid tea cup ride during my visit was the worst. To enter the park, if you have a bag with you then you must go through security screening. If you do not have a bag, then you can bypass the screening and either go purchase tickets, if you need them or enter the park if you already have tickets. The park is divided into two different parks. You have the main park where you will find the rides. That is what is included in the basic admission price. Then there is the water park, Hurricane Harbor, which is an add-on. It costed my $15 more dollars to add it to my season pass and upgrade to Platinum. The main park has tons of food vendors and is subdivided into different areas like kids area, a Mardi Gras themed area, and coasters. You will find rides like the Minutemen Motors, Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth, Voodoo Drop, Cyclone, French Quarter Flyers, Ragin Cajun, a carousel, High Seas, Tea Cup, and Harley Quinn Spinsanity. The park's coasters include: the Wooden Coaster, Roar, Superman: Ride of Steel, the Batwing Coaster, the Wild One, Firebird, Bourbon Street Fireball and the Joker's Jinx. I do not know if it was due to weather, but many of the coasters where not operating while I was there. The park dates back to the mind 1980s and you can tell. Many of the rides look worn and outdated and some are in need of dire repairs. There is a train rides that takes you around the back of the park which looks like a grave yard where you will see a dead train, a bunch of picnic tables, and the park's pavilion area. You will also go by the Superman coaster. The ride is nothing special and the only reason I rode it was because my kid likes trains and I had time to kill. The ride lasted about 10 to 15 minutes and I could have done without it. I visited on a Sunday, during the Summer and none of the rides had long lines. I do not know if it was because of sporadic showers or if that is a normal thing, Either way, that was nice to get right on a slide or ride. My littles and I really liked it. The water park area also has some snack bars. You will will also find a huge wave pool called Hurricane Bay, a huge splash pad called Splash Water Falls, a kid pool area called Buccaneer Beach and a bunch of adventure slides that include: Bahama Blast, Vortex/Riptide, Calypso Cannonballs, Shark Attack Hammerhead and Shark Attack Mako. They scan you ticket to enter the swimming area and if you do not have the platinum upgrade, they will turn you away and direct you to where you can get it put on. The park offers a souvenir cup where you can get free refills for a day or for the season. The one that lasts for the season costs about $35 and I think is a great deal if you plan on going here a lot. Of course the park has its share of souvenir shops, but I did not see any mobile vendors roaming the park. They also has a ton of photo opportunities to take advantage of. A quick note for season pass holders. Upload your tickets to the app, because if you lose the paper ticket that they give you then you have to pay about $15 to have it replaced. Having them on the app makes it so much easier anyway. I wanted to like this park more, but compared to other similar parks, this place is just "ok". They really need to invest in upgrades and improving the quality of their staff. This place does have a lot of potential and I have so many memories of this place from when I was a young lad. I had the best time besides the fact that I threw up on the roller coaster and it landed on someone but that's fine.

Another year and we were excited to come back for another year hoping it'd be a great one. Boy we were extremely disappointed. The rodeo area where they have the number cars, bulls and white water rafting was closed the whole season. Good prices had increased ridiculously. To top it off most of the rides were closed every time we went! We got the notification that the new water ride would be open this summer. That wasn't even started for construction!!! In the spring time we liked how clean the park was maintained and actually hoped it would be that way the whole season. We were wrong. By mid July, the trash would be overflowed and flies everywhere. This part was the last straw for me. I get that some people can ruin your day, but you could notice the lack of professionalism and how much majority of the staff did not want to be there. Some wouldn't even respond after saying thank you or have a good day. One of the staff scared me as they were taking my child's restraint off towards the end without the ride completely stopping! The last staff member insulted what I was wearing. Literally just wearing shorts, sandals and a crop top. She looks at me, does a smirk and laughs and proceeds to say "what are you wearing?" , "what kind of outfit is that?" Do better. Their solution via email was to go back to the park and speak to guest relations. Summer is over, not everyone has the weekend off to show up and speak to guest relations. Came here on the last Friday of spring break for schools. Six Flags was open everyday during this week. Came to scope out the rides and food for future visits. The kid's area had a decent amount of attractions, so if you have small kids that love to ride, you hit the amusement park bingo. There were rides for teens and adults that were sure to elicit the required screams and laughs. Rides were named after DC comics heros and villians such as The Jokers Jinx, Superman's Man of Steel, Harley Quinn's, etc. On this day, all of them were open and operational, which was as surprise as everytime I come here one of them seems to always be down for the count. Maybe with the new season, there is hope yet. The food areas were open and operational. I partook in the required amusement park fare of funnel cake (greasy, lets hope they get better as the season goes on), fries ( hot, crispy and fresh), and a refillable all season drink cup (that alone set me back $25, but I did the math and coming here a few more times this season would more than pay for it). They had games of chance as well as merch stores to buy all things Six Flags and D.C. comic related (the prices were decent). The adjacent water park,Hurricane Harbor, was not open yet, but for those who like to indulge in all things water related (especially on those upcoming hot summer days) this is just the place for you. Parking was an additional fee ($30), but is included for all season pass holders. All in all, a decent amusement/water park in the DMV area. tl;dr: Relatively inexpensive tickets for a pretty fun time, although the park does its very best to nickel and dime you. Park is pretty small, but can definitely do the entire park in 1 day (depending on ride lines). Rides - 3/5: The roller coasters were very fun! The wooden roller coasters look like they could fall apart at any moment, and are so rickety it made our party very nauseous. My favorite was the batwing, and the waiting times were not crazy. It could be the time of year but the average wait time for the rides were ~ 5 minutes. Getting to the park - 4/5: Buying tickets online was very straightforward and you are paying for both Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor which is the water park. Very easy access from DC (only a 30 minute drive). Parking online is cheaper than at the gate, but when we went the POS stations were down, so they let us park for free ($30 normally)! Lots of parking with good markings to remember where you parked. Very little security at the door which was kinda concerning, but we were able to bring in snacks. Food - 1/5: We were very nauseous from some of the roller coasters, and wanted to buy some ginger ale, and it was literally 6 dollars a bottle. There is a mildly concerning food stall called ChopSix (like six flags) with "Chinese" font that served knock-off panda express at double the price. Very overpriced. We kept food in our car, and went outside the park (we could reenter) to eat. read more

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the experience my family and I had at your park on July 14th. Our visit was marred by two significant issues that reflect poorly on your management and customer service practices. Firstly, the power outage that occurred at approximately 7/14 subjected guests to standing outside in sweltering 98-degree heat for three hours. Throughout this ordeal, there was a complete lack of communication from Six Flags staff regarding the situation. Guests were left without updates or any indication of when the issue might be resolved, which is unacceptable given the extreme weather conditions and potential health risks involved. Secondly, during one of the rides, my phone accidentally slipped out and landed just a few feet away from the fence. Despite our earnest requests, your staff refused to retrieve the phone or allow us to retrieve it ourselves, insisting that we wait until the part would be closed which is at 8pm. This delay posed a significant risk to the phone, which was overheating in the sun and at risk of being damaged irreparably. Despite our concerns, your staff showed a complete lack of empathy or willingness to assist in mitigating the damage nor solve the matter. All we get is robotic answer of waiting until the park close and then you can find your phone in lost and found, even our phone is only few feet away from my reach on the other side of the fence. These incidents not only ruined our planned day of enjoyment but also highlighted serious deficiencies in how customer safety, communication, and service issues are handled at Six Flags. read more

A lot of the rides were closed, including other attractions in the park. There were not as many staff in the food stands, so we waited for food at Johnny Rockets for 45 minutes. We went into the water park. The wave pool was closed, the Lazy River had bandaids and debrie floating in it. It was sad to see a park that I can remember from my childhood falling apart. Ghetto amusement park If you can get passed by it's ghettoness, it's not a bad park. Of course King's Dominion is much better, but six flags is closer and cheaper. It will fulfill your needs for riding roller coasters and swimming. I only swam here once so there's not much memory to it. Why ghetto? This place needs a refurbishment, things are outdated and the paint is wearing off. The staff are not mean, but they don't seem like they like their job. Similar to fast food, they just wanna work then leave with no joy. A lot of people there are loud, no social distancing to the point their clothes or skin are touching you. Fine experience overall but there's a serious problem with the Lazy River ride. We were ordered to hop over a 4ft metal chain while racing to catch a fast-moving raft before it floated away, all within 5-10 seconds. All eight riders are expected to buckle in to a single raft during this extremely short window. Not only was this highly unaccommodating to people with limited mobility, but the staff screamed at people to run after the boat. Imagine if people had to run to enter a roller coaster that never stopped moving and then fasten their belts. I hope management can make the easy fix of stopping each boat at entry and exit to ensure the safety of future park goers. The current system is a huge liability and major safety concern! read more

Took one of my sons and my nephew to Six Flags yesterday for some last minute summer fun. I have visited the park since 2017 and a lot has changed since Covid hit in 2020. Some changes were good, others were not so good. First, it appears that they have gone completely mobile. The park accepts no cash. Tickets, food, games, etc are purchased or paid for online or by credit card. This definitely makes lines move faster and more efficiently. Second, they make you walk through metal detectors and have k-9 forces checking for drugs and other paraphernalia. It is sad that our world has come to this, but refreshing to know that we are safer in the park. There are also armed police walking through the park in addition to unarmed security guards. I definitely welcome the extra security measures. My one complaint about my experience on Saturday, mostly all of the rides for young children were closed. My nephew just turned three on the 17th and he really couldn't ride anything because everything was closed. Other than that, we had a good time. read more

I haven't been here in Years!! but Six Flags was a goal of my youngest brother so we made it happen! Came on Friday, Sept 3 with the hopes that most children/families would be in school and SUCCESS!!! The Park was pretty empty! We paid for our day tickets and parking ($25) online. Pretty easy to scan at the parking gate, get our bags checked and scan into the park. We bought in a few bottles of water and general items (keys, cell, charger etc.) With the park being empty, we were able to get on rides with no wait times. Some rides, we even got on twice! I felt a little bad, because on some rides persons who likely were considered too big for the seats had to get off. (Let's start making roller coaster seats wider) We didn't entertain the food because a cheeseburger was like $15. Thankfully we ate before we got there. Really watery hand sanitizer was available throughout most of the park. There were a few that were dry, hopefully this concern during Covid can be remedied ASAP. Didn't see many water fountains either. I enjoyed the Joker, Harley Quinn, Superman and this ride that flips you in a complete 360 circle where you seem to dangle lol We only walked through Hurricane Harbor. Empty area also. Didn't bring wet clothes, otherwise - I may have gotten on a few water slides. Bathroom near the front entrance was clean. Lockers also available here. An employee mentioned some rides were closed down because they were understaffed as employees are in high school and/or went back to college) for the new school year. Spent about 3.5 hours in the park. A lot of walking, I would only go back again if there were no kids/families again to avoid long wait times. read more

On a recent trip to the DC area, I decided to make a stop at their local Six Flags. Like my local Six Flag location, they do require online reservations for the day if your visit however, there was pretty much no crowd at all the day of my trip. Pretty much every employee I came in contact with was great, with a few minor exceptions. One of the snack stands took over 20 minutes to serve the 6 people in front of us and they were only getting drink refills. As for the rides themselves, my favorite was Joker's Jinx. Super smooth and fun ride. Highly recommend. I also rode many of the other park rides, including Superman, Batwing, Ragin' Cajun, and Wild One. Crowds were low the day I went so it was a very enjoyable trip. read more

I visited Six Flags on a Friday during mid-summer and it surprisingly was not crowded. I purchased priority parking and it probably wasn't needed. I arrived at the park early that entry was virtually a breeze from the parking lot to the main entrance gate. My family and I experienced no lines and no waits to board rides. This is how light the foot traffic was at the park on a Friday during mid-summer. As much as it pains me to say this, the park is nothing of what it used to be. It has deteriorated quite a bit and there seems to be no renovations or updates performed to the park outside of the construction of new roller coaster rides and if I'm not mistaken it's been over 10 years since the construction of a new roller coaster at this particular theme park. I've visited this park a few times over the course of 20 years and the park has seemingly stood still from a general perspective. Another thing that hasn't changed is the poor customer service and attentiveness of employees. This theme park is fully rostered with youth and young employees operating the roller coasters, kiddie rides, concession stands, shops and restaurants. A common theme was lack of interest and inattentiveness by the staff and attendants which was a big concern for me especially when this behavior was so common among staff operating the roller coasters. You can only imagine how nerve-wrecking it is to board a roller coaster or your child a kiddie ride where the attendant seems zoned out or inattentive. Too often we hear about horror story accidents at amusement parks due to negligence. This by far was my most concerning and consistent observation. Overall, an OK experience and I don't think young kids would mind the issues I mentioned however as an adult the issues are glaring and in hindsight I don't think the price of the park admission, parking, certainly not park food and game costs are with the grand total of a day at this park. If you have a strong desire to stay local and get in a them park experience, give it a shot, but if you have time certainly I recommend traveling to other them parks in the tri-state area or Pennsylvania. read more

Just don't go. It's not the place to really enjoy anything without some sort of issue. The place is overpriced and just not worth it.

Six Flags America is the best for me. My kids love it. We like going in the summer. They love this new water ride where it's like a twirling. They love the wave pool. Long story short, I wouldn't recommend spending you hard earned money here. For two Single Day tickets, Halloween Haunt Express Pass, and a Speedy Parking it was a total of $240.23 after taxes and fees. The website is not user friendly. The information is all over the place and not simple to find. They have high fees for processing ticket purchases online. Do not buy parking online, it is $5 cheaper at the park. The park reminds me of what you would see in an abandoned amusement park of a zombie movie. Rundown looking and not nicely kept. They do not have very many rides and several of the rides they do have were close or "temporarily unavailable". The prices of food are what you would expect at any amusement park... pricey. That said, what we did eat was good. They have a heavy security presence there during the day and also a large amount of police starting at 6pm. The 5 haunted houses for the Halloween Haunt were extremely mediocre. They seemed to rush people through the haunted houses because many of the characters were out of place from trying to scare the group that went before the other group. We noticed that many people waited approximately 45 minutes in the General Halloween Haunt lines for each haunted house and were turned away because they didn't have a wristband. You have to buy the haunted house ticket and then once you get tot he park you have to go stand in a line to get your haunted house wristband, because they don't accept you showing your ticket you purchased. This information was not advertised well as we saw this occur to many people throughout the night. Lastly, the haunted houses were advertised as being open at 6pm. They did not open until 7:30pm. That is false advertising. Think about this too, if you wait in line for each haunted house for 30-45 minutes and then it takes approximately 10 minutes per haunted house, then you have to walk to the next, and the park closes at 10pm, you will not have time to go through all of the haunted houses before the park closes. read more
