Personally, I think it was the best thing that ever happened to them. My parents are older and have had their fair share of health crises over the years - cancer, staph, pneumonia, asthma you name it - and Dr. Kelly has always treated them right. My mom, suffers from severe asthma, and often has respiratory-related scares. Dr. Kelly has been fabulous at squeezing her in for a quick check rather than unloading her on the nearest ER. Dr. Kelly earns a fifth star from me for going above and beyond the call of duty. She makes house calls, you heard me, house calls! My dad had a knee replacement a few years back and was working with his physical therapist to get back on track; Dr. Kelly decided he wasn't progressing enough and could benefit from more therapy. Instead of offloading these increased sessions on the therapist she came to their house and worked with my dad. It was amazing and so appreciated by my mom since getting my dad out in the middle of winter while he was unsteady on his feet was not only a chore, but very anxiety ridden. I think now enough time has passed that he'll admit how beneficial this was to his recovery. At the time he winced at the thought, she's a tough cookie and really made him work. Bottom line: Dr. Kelly is amazing! My parents can't say enough good things about her and trust me, my dad is a tough customer, he won't sing the praises of just anyone. Even though I live relatively close, knowing that she's treating them puts my mind at ease, she really seems to care about her patients and get them the best care possible.

They have a great computer system that communicates everything to everyone so everyone knows what is going on with your history and needs. The woman at the desk was extremely unfit for her position, complaining about this reasonable request under her breath right in front of me and basically threatening that I would have to reschedule. An office manager had to email them to the front desk to print them for me which for some reason took 30 minutes. Today I needed a well-visit and I needed a medical fitness form signed for the Illinois Secretary of State (I have been in remission from relapsing-remitting MS for ten years and do not currently see a neurologist). Christa Harlan-Egan refused to sign the form on the basis that she couldn't see neuro notes from 10+ years ago. When I asked her what ten year old neurology notes would tell her about my current condition more so than a current physical assessment, the absence of any neurological or neuromuscular complaints in the 8 or so years I've been seen by the practice or, I don't know, the fact that I am a inpatient obstetric nurse and professional yoga instructor? She then walked out of the room citing that the appointment started late and the next patient was here, so I would have to reschedule. I will never forgive the unprofessionalism of virtually every person I encountered at that office displayed today. I did sound off about this in local Facebook groups and many are leaving this practice generally and have complaints about Dr. Harlan-Egan specifically for rude and unprofessional behavior. My husband says he doesn't feel strongly about his doctor and will also leave the group.

If you need a professional, extremely polite, accommodating, friendly, well-versed primary care…read morephysician....Dr. Forrest J. Robinson, DO is the man!! After years of taking care of an elderly parent, I neglected myself. My 1st appointment was with Dr. Cynthia Page (Ob/Gyne) I asked her to refer me to an African-American physician & she recommended her husband...EXCELLENT CHOICE!! lol My introduction at the Oak Park, IL Lake St office was with the receptionist extraordinaire Ms. Alice Cole. Very friendly, pleasant, greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcomed, like a member of Dr. Robinson's extended family versus just another patient. My next encounter was with Laquita, who began with my preliminaries. Very professional, knowledgeable and kind. I've worked in the dental industry for over 30 years and have "the eye" to spot exceptional employees. Laquita is definitely the "employee every office wants". My first experience at Dr. Robinson's was a world away from previous experiences elsewhere. When I say Dr. Robinson and his team of professionals made me feel that I was in safe hands, I mean it. I smiled, laughed, cried when sharing personal "hidden secrets" and was never left to feel like a statistic, I felt "loved". He treated me with tender loving care because he really does care! You can believe this man of God is awesome and I am truly grateful Dr. Cynthia Page referred me. So the next time you're feeling bad, need a physician, want a second opinion or unable to see your own physician, Dr. Forrest J. Robinson, DO is the man to see. I appreciated his willingness to answer questions and prophetically speak life into me (only the saved will get that~wink) Kudos to Dr. Forrest J. Robinson and the awesome team at Edward-Elmhurst Oak Park location. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

She is almost fully recovered from her surgery the first week of October 2021 and Dr. Al-Kadari informed us he expects my mother to be back to 100% by Thanksgiving or Christmas 2021. This was only my second time meeting with Al-Kadari even though he was the main surgeon on my mother's case and she spent 3+ weeks in the hospital at Rush Medical Center. Since her hospital discharge October 20th, we have had three post-op visits with his associate, Ashley Knies. Ashley appeared nervous, insecure, and all around lacking intelligence. Our first visit with her she did nothing besides prescribe more opiates. Our second visit she remover the bandage but did not feel comfortable replacing my mother's wound vac stating she did not have proper supplies or bandages. Luckily, our home healthcare nurse, Sarah helped me pack/prepare the wound vac for the post-op visit, in addition to extra bandages. I tried to hand the bag with the wound vac to Ashley but she shook her head nervously so instead I handed a bandage to Ashley who emphasized, "I wish we had these, our bandages are not near as good as these." After our visit, I reviewed the appointment notes in "MyChart" and was shocked to see Ashley wrote we failed to bring my mother's wound vac to the appointment, which is an outright lie! Moreover, let's pretend we had not brought the wound vac or bandages, why are these supplies not at the hospital? Are they truly lacking necessary medical supplies or is it simply Ashley's incompetence placing blame elsewhere?

At a personal level I really enjoy seeing her, and she is easy to trust. She is, however, lacking on the thorough analysis of issues, and not great at all on the pediatric end of things -that being said, she does not advertise as such. Sadly, my family has noticed massive differences in treatment based on the quality of our insurance (better and more thorough when the insurance is good, less attentive when you self-pay). This was underlined by 3 things, 1) Dr Manus' patronizing comments during consultation. 2) her office literally forgetting about any kind of checkups/follow ups for you or the kids when your insurance is "not good" but doing it when it is. 3) An effort to collect fees for things nobody does. Unfortunately I have observed this enough that I don't believe it's a random event. I am sure some of these shortcomings are a result of the economic pressures this doctor's office is under. Unfortunately I am in no position to properly control the "quality" of my insurance, and yes, I understand doctors have bills to pay.

I have been a patient…read moreof hers at Lake Street Family Physicians for 13 years and the thought of having to find another doctor is daunting. Dr. Manus is patient and will listen to every concern you have no matter how small, and she is extremely knowledgable. I like that she doesn't over-prescribe medication, and always lets me know about different courses of treatment. She is sensitive and kind and just a wonderful person. My mother and brother have also been patients of hers and were similarly pleased. I cannot recommend her enough. The reception staff is efficient and if I have a health concern and am unsure of whether to get an appointment a nurse will always call me back that day and normally within an hour or two. They also will not hesitate to tell me if I don't need an appointment, which is great because it saves me the hassle and $ of having to come in. I have never had a billing or insurance issue and despite having changed insurances several times every PPO I have ever had has been in network. Note that this office does not accept HMOs, however. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait between the time when you see the nurse and when the doctor comes to the room. But usually this is not the case. In 13 years of visits (about 3 times/yearly) I only recall them running very behind on a handful of occasions. Overall the wait time has been consistently reasonable, and I am usually in and out of there in under 45 minutes. Parking is somewhat inconvenient as it is everywhere in downtown Oak Park, but there is a village parking structure nearby that is free for the first two hours on week days.

I'm crazy about her (not medically speaking). To date, she's been my primary physician for a little over two years. I love that she spends plenty of time. I don't so much like that I usually have to wait longer than my appointment time, but I factor that in when I have an appointment that's later in the day. If my appointment is first thing in the morning, there's no issue. For urgent appointments, I've sometimes gotten in with her, other times I've been given a visit with another physician from the same office, or Linda, her nurse practitioner (all are terrific). I love how she listens. She's excellent at giving advice, including on mental health issues. She doesn't try to be a therapist, but she's good about making sure my panic condition is under control, even when I'm there for regular old physical wear and tear issues. She calls me if I've seen one of her associates and there's some question about my health to be clarified, and she's great about getting test results either mailed or communicated to me via phone. I really love that she's a one-stop shop. She did a nice, thorough history/physical the first time I came in, and she does the annual well-woman exams. In summary, great care of my body and brain, and a downright sweetheart. Her staff members are also quite nice. Her practice partners are excellent.

1 Star is too High!…read more My regular physician wasn't available in this practice so I was offered to see Dr. Wendy Foster which I accepted. I can honestly say I have NEVER in all my years been treated that way in my entire life. She was down right confrontational and rude. If I hadn't had such positive experiences with the other physicians in her practice I'd find a new doctor ASAP. Yes, I will let my primary physician know next time I see her. Dr. Foster is definitely not helping their practice.
