We've had her for about a year but her possessiveness over food and resources was getting much worse and we were really worried that things were not going to work out with our current family situation. After one home visit from you, we have put in place all of the advice and training measures you suggested and everything is going really well. The daily growling incidents have reduced considerably now we know how to avoid and distract. Mealtimes in particular have improved - we are putting only small amounts of food in her bowl, then putting it down after she waits and then repeating the process until she has had the whole portion. One of the key things you helped us realise, is that just because she is 11, not to let her get away with things. For example, she used to have a set route she preferred for walks, with lots of little foibles about where to cross the road and stop at certain points. We used to indulge her routines and because she is an old dog, let her do what she wanted. But now, if we want to go left and she doesn't, I stand still until she stops pulling. Then I start to move towards the way I want. If she pulls again I stop, and I do not look at her. Eventually she starts to come towards me and once we are trotting off in the new direction she is fine. Thanks again for your advice. It has made Angel a much happier little lady.

However, it was the best thing we ever did. The trainers we had, Fiona and Adrian did a fantastic job with her. She is less reactive and now able to do group walks. The dog trainers, Cat and…read moreGemma, worked really hard with him and us as a family both before and after we adopted him, and provided lots of help and advice. We did silver obedience awards with the trainers after we had adopted as we had seen Louis' behaviour improve so much during the bronze training pre-adoption. Cat in particular developed a really strong bond with Louis, and he still loves to see her. We continue to go to a monthly dog walk for dogs who are anxious which we really enjoy.

As i didn't want to put my dog Sammy who is very shy and nervous into kennels. I had a meet and greet at my home with Ali and Sarah who i found to be very friendly and caring and understood both mine and Sammy's needs. When Sammy was with them she was out most of the day enjoying herself. They sent me a comfort text while i was away to reasure me Sammy was ok. I am very grateful to Ali and Sarah for all the care and attention Sammy receieved whilst i was away. She was very happy with them and after they dropped her off she was still looking for them out of the window waiting for them comming back. I would highly recommend both Ali and Sarah to any pet owners. I've booked again for summer this year. This time i will not worry about leaving Sammy behind.
