We have a Bernese Mountain Dog and a French Bulldog - who are obviously very different in terms of both personality and their needs. This past 8 nights, one of her employees Jim stayed overnight in our home with the dogs. He texted me to let me know how things were going regularly and he seemed to genuinely love spending time with the dogs. Our Berner can be stubborn so I typically tell the dog sitters not to walk her, but Jim took both of them on walks daily in order to keep them out of the messy yard. We returned home to 2 calm dogs, without any issues! We joked that the house looks cleaner than when we left - he definitely took care of cleaning up after the messy dogs (which I don't usually expect!) Melissa is great in responding for last minute visits if we are out unexpectedly and now we feel that when it's time for vacation, we can go again without worrying about the dogs!

HAPC responded right away on Yelp, took my information, made a home visit, and we were on our way! Vanessa the owner was a dream. She met my moms dog Louie and started walking him and I would get daily status emails and pics of Louie when they were out and about. What I also love about HAPC is that I didn't have to go through so many hoops and applications like some other companies who ask for way too much info, like your dogs blood type and your blood type etc. I kid, but really, HAPC makes the process go a lot easier than what's out there. Clearly not someone I would trust with my dog anyways. When emailing with another company for my poor pup, I mentioned the story without saying the company's name. They asked if it was North Shore Dog Walk and said they've heard this same story multiple times from other people. Beware. My experience is obviously they are not reliable.

I received a call the day after Christmas, that my dog was howling in pain and couldn't get up. I…read moreasked if they could get him to a vet and they said no, I had to pick him up. When arrived they wanted to use ropes to lift him with due to so badly soiled. So we supplied our own blanket and carried him to car. He was in obvious pain, soiled, bleeding from mouth. He was immediately taken to animal hospital and advised had to be put down for fractured back and kidney issues. When asked for an explanation Randa immediately sent a refund saying upon my request, which was just for explanation. When followed up was told I can't sue because I signed a waiver, that it was my fault for boarding an older dog and not boarded before. I never made any accusations or asked for anything but an explanation. I'm so devastated I left my pet/family member in their care.

I really appreciated his flexibility as sometimes our schedules would change at the last minute (or I would forget to notify him the evening before that a walk wouldn't be needed the following day). Adam was always gracious and accommodating. I also really appreciated how responsive he was to texts and emails. He was also wonderful about coordinating walks around showings when we were in the process of selling our home. We recently left Highland Park and I know that our dog is going to miss Adam terribly.
