Best liver and onions I've had in a long time! I asked for extra onions and they did not disappoint. My husband said his patty melt was excellent. The french fries were thin and crispy. So, my first review of 2024 is a winner! One of the crews kept telling me, you got to eat at Sissy's when you go to Breckenridge. OMG, this place is the true definition of hole in the wall. The outside is NOT pretty, but the parking lot was full. We went inside and grabbed a table. You could tell everyone was local, cause everybody greeted everybody. We gazed at the menu, but both ordered the daily special. With only one cook, it took a while, but boy was it worth it! Every bite was true country style home cooking. The chicken fry meat was fresh, the mashed potatoes just a tad lumpy, with delicious thick cream gravy on both. The cheese covered broccoli was steamed perfectly. We both only managed to eat half, and the rest was to go. But we're not done yet. The chocolate cake with chocolate fudge icing was wonderful! AND, the division manager I was with bought my lunch. Score! Thanks boss! Not that you will EVER be in Breckenridge, Texas, but if you are, Sissy's is well worth the stop. That's right Guy, GO! read more

Very good food and polite service with a lot of personality. We had the steak fingers and burgers. The servings are large for both, but neither compare to the size of their pancakes. Wow. Those are huge. The burgers were excellent - as were the steak fingers. Drinks were kept full without having to ask for refills... not much more to ask for. The prices are reasonable for the service. They say everything in Texas is bigger, well the adage is totally true here at Sissy's. Sissy makes the best and largest pancakes this side of the Mississippi River. If CFS doesn't mean anything to you, then probably leave Sissy's to the locals, because their Chicken-Fried Steak isn't gonna eat itself. Man you can't go wrong with sissy's , whatever you get it's gonna be good. I go in there early mornings and get the two eggs over medium with hash browns bacon and sausage biscuits and gravy. When your food is made to order you can taste the freshness. It may take a little bit longer but I would not trade time for taste. The staff is wonderful we travel with a small dog that does not like to be left in the car so we were able to eat in the top secret area. My lunch is my standard order, how else can you judge a restaurant. Chicken fried steak. . I got the large order , two big Togo containers and a small one for the salad. Service was really slow. It took an Hour for two of us to get our food. Restaurant had maybe 4 other customers. One cook cooking, and wait staff standing around. Food was just alright. read more

Sissy's is down home and friendly. My family and I have known known Sissy and her family 18 years. We have also eaten at Sissy's this long or longer. They are sweet people with hood hearts and the best food around. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault. Sissy isnt why with the food or hospitality. Her daughter is the waitress and absolutely the sweetest human I have ever met best to her mother. Sum all up, you wont be sorry if you visit and pull up a chair. They appreciate everyone. The service was a little slow, but they have a small kitchen and staff which was understandable. The food was FANTASTIC and fresh though. Best pancake I've ever had! Great local place for breakfast. Large portions. If you order pancakes, one will be enough. They are probably 15" in diameter. Only thing holding me back from 5 stars was the pancake syrup. I thought it was a bit odd tasting but my wife really didn't like it. They need to serve a great tasting name brand to go with otherwise great cooking. read more
