I'll start by saying that the service there was great. The lady taking our order was really…read morefriendly. She answered my questions and was helpful with ordering. I went there due to seeing their instagram story about a $10 meal deal (2 pupusas, a pastelito, and a soda) but they had run out of pastelitos so I had to quickly choose something so I'm thankful that they were happy to help answer any questions. It's a small food truck located in the same parking lot with Fiesta off Paton and Cavalcade so there's no seating or real space to eat (unless you eat in your car). They're also honest about the wait time. They said it would take 15-20 minutes and they didn't go over their time estimate. I have only had pupusas a handful of times (I'm from a small town in WA state that only had Mexican restaurants since only Mexicans lived there, so don't judge ) and can say these were the best I've had thus far. They were freshly made and piping hot when I got them (I had to put the bag down from my lap because it was too hot) and remained so throughout eating them. The cheese was gooey and stringy and their salsa has a nice little kick to it. It wasn't greasy or too salty which is always a plus. I ordered the revueltas (pork & cheese) and added beans to them. They are HUGE so be mindful when ordering them (they also taste better the next day if you have any leftover). These were definitely worth the price. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks if I know where they sell good pupusas. Let's just say I'll be going in again (they're so close to me). I hope y'all enjoy.

This restaurant just opened this week and while the food was very good, service could use some…read moreimprovement. We stopped by during lunch and were initially confused as to whether we needed to order at the counter or request a table. There was nobody at the counter and the 2 waitresses were practically running around. We were handed a menu and the waitresses barely gave us time to look over it since she stood there the whole time waiting to take our order. We ordered 1 soda and 1 agua fresca. She brought the soda but stated she'd be back with the agua fresca. Their specialty is carnitas and the have combos for 1,2 or family style. Our food came out about 15 min later but the agua fresca still wasn't out. A neighboring take got upset because our food came out before theirs and they were there first so they got up and started to walk out. The waitress tried to get them to stay, saying the kitchen had just rung the bell and their order was next to come out but they looked angry and left. The food presentation was nice, but we did have to remind the second waitress to bring out the second drink and ask for plates to eat on and the salsas. Taste was great. The carnitas tasted fresh and was a mixture of meat and cueritos, served with grilled onions, habanero, limes, and cilantro. Tortillas were heated perfectly and the 3 salsas were the perfect amount of spiciness. There's a kid area still being built where kids can play while adults eat and drink. We noticed they weren't bringing out checks and people were just walking to the counter to try to pay, so we did the same. While waiting to be charged, we overheard other frustrated people at the counter asking how much longer their to go order was going to take. Overall I think it has great potential, but maybe they need more waitstaff and kitchen staff to speed up the orders.

These street tacos are an absolute masterpiece! After 53 years of tasting tacos everywhere, I can…read moreconfidently say these are the best I've ever had. The moment you squeeze that fresh lime over the tacos, the flavors explode--bright, tangy citrus dancing with the rich, smoky spices of perfectly seasoned meats. The corn tortillas are warm and slightly charred, adding a rustic depth that complements the savory fillings. Each bite is layered with bold, authentic flavors that feel like a celebration of Mexican street food. And let's talk about the roasted full onions--sweet, smoky, and caramelized to perfection. They're not just a garnish; they elevate the entire experience, adding a subtle sweetness that balances the spice beautifully. If you're searching for tacos that will make you close your eyes and savor every bite, this is the place. Pure taco heaven!

We can't dance with the toe point of LUISA BLANCO But when we're on a pole, it's money in EL BANCO When your boyfriend sees us you'll say "where did my MAN GO?" He'll buy me a Ferrari and buy Barbi a DURANGO But everyone knows, from Guadalajara to GLASGOW That there's no better tacos than 100% CHILANGO WHAT This is simply one of the best taco places in the city. In the state. In the country. So I know Mexican food in Houston better than the vast majority of non-Mexicans (and than some Mexicans), partly because Barbi is Mexican, and partly because for years I've been trying it all. My top ten list of Mexican trucks and taquerias would change your life. My top 5 list is the best you'll ever eat. And you guessed it. This one makes the top 5. Possibly the best taco truck in Texas, definitely top 5, every bite of the tacos here will take you to heaven. Juicy, spiced, authentic, cheap, irresistible. And yes I'm talking about Barbi, but it also applies to the tacos. You have to venture onto the roads less traveled (as depressing as all the lovely stray dogs and run down streets can be) on the Northside. It's absolutely delicious. Get here before the hipsters expand the Heights even more than they already have, swallow up this neighbourhood, and replace all these life-changing gems with fake-Mex-suggestive-of-sex Velvet Tacos. It's definitely one of the most amazing taco trucks I've ever eaten at, anywhere in the world. Houston is totally spoiled for taco trucks, and this amazing truck in a convenience store parking lot is just another example of perfection, although this one is probably one of the top five trucks in the whole city, and along with the likes of nearby Presitas, nearby Matehuala, nearby Taconazo, and a couple of others, it's one of the best taco trucks you could ever dream of. And leaving a family business a 1 star review because you came when it's closed or suck at navigating, is a really crappy thing to do. And, they (Tarantino and his creepy peepys) made a Jamie Foxx movie out of this place: Chilango Unchained. Oh, and they made another, much older movie about this place, but not this location. The one by the Eiffel Tower in France. It was called "Last Chilango In Paris." Did I mention that I made the drive in a Dodge Chilango.
