An amazing and absolute superb location. Will definitely be returning. The accomodation in the glamping facilities was very good and provided a verandah where the wildlife of wallabies and bird species as well as a bilby and a kookaburra were like being on a nature safari. The Restaurant Tuscan Sanctuary on site was tremendous in not only the food choices available but also the outstanding service we received from the Team especially Dakota who was exceptional at her craft. Prices were more than reasonable not only at this location but also the cafe and wine centre.The staff also in this area were also very good and extremely knowledgeable in their wine explanations as well as showing a happy disposition in sharing with guests of the centre as well as visitors. Music at this venue on Saturday 14th February was also of a genuine high character. The not expected gift given as it was my partners birthday was also a plus surprise for her and was a great added touch of the Sirromet Winery and Accommodation centre.Overall a fantastic experience and I totally recommend visiting and a stay here to others. Sirromet needs to understand they can't have 14,000 people at a Day on the Green concert & funnel them out at the end of the night down a goat track & out 1 tiny exit. Took an hour to move a few hundred yards. will never attend a large concert there again. Need a few more exits !!! read more

Located on winding Mt Cotton Rd, Sirromet is a little bit out of the way for most of Brisbane's population. If you're willing to make the drive however, it's worth it. When you're at this peaceful winery it's easy to be tricked into believing you've escaped and taken a holiday, albeit a very short one. With views of vines, trees and rolling hills, two great restaurants and wine tasting, you can be relaxingly entertained here for hours. Restaurant Lurleens is located in the main building, and serves delicious food. It's not a cheap place by any means, but the prices are reasonable for the quality. Cellar Door is where to go for light meals, snacks and coffees. It's situated off to one side of the building and offers the same picturesque views with less frightening prices. There's something for the kids too; it seems children have taken to using pieces of cardboard to slide down the nearby slope in some sort of Australian style, dry grass sledding. Everything has different opening times so if you want to be sure it's best to phone ahead, but in general Restaurant Lurleens is open for lunch and dinner while Cellar Door is open during the day but not for dinner. This is one of those occasions where looks are deceiving. Arrive at a nice location. Very busy so you would assume it's good. Hard to find a seat and meals were going to be 1.5hr. However they did give plenty of warning and it's a nice location to chill out and drink some wine whilst you wait. The food came out and at a glance it looked really nice. However with a closer look it's less than to be desired more than fancy pub food. We got bruschetta, aracini balls and the seafood pasta. The seafood pasta was okay, but only because it had tonnes of garlic and butter to lift the bland flavours out of the meal. The aracini balls were decent; but small portion for what you pay. Again; saved by lots of garlic and butter which fixes most problems. However the Bruschetta... it was terrible. It was thin burnt toast. With a bland piece of bocconcini. 2 leaves of Rocket. And tomatoes that had been diced and sat in tub of juice for at least a day. I am not the pretentious type that usual makes a fuss. But for 1 main and 2 entrees it was $75 and pretty ordinary. You would have been just as well getting a pub meal for $40 with a garlic bread, calamari and a parmy. read more

Well, normally, one hopes to experience a restaurant before reviewing it, and one hopes that the experience has some level of anticipation. We wnt to book a Xmas Dinner for a group of 14 friends at Lurleens. They took the booking, THey then call back to tell us, that we need to choose (a week or two ahead), Who is having an Entree and Main, and who is having a Main and t Desert - so that they can set the tables accordingly - give me a break - taking away 2-3 pieces of cutlery on the day, can't be that hard. Then, they call back, and want to know what each person intends to order, now. What? IS this like a tuck shop where you have to write your lunch order on a brown paper bag in the morning..Can someone explain to them, that "a la carte" means "off the menu"... Seriously, Sirromet. - allow people to take advantage of their culinary whims on the day - it will make for a more enjoyable experience, and people will probably spend more. We are now looking for an alternate venue. Easily $1000 worth of business lost, because they are "too hard" to deal with. read more

First of all, if you looking for a cafe with authentic winery experience, this might not be the best place to go. This winery is too overcrowded and it feels like just another tourist destination and no more than that. The cafe charges 2% for all credit cards, which is a joke for a place where profit margins are above the average. I don't recommend the vineyard platter at the cafe, it has quite poor selection of cheese. read more

Paid $700 for accommodation and went without dinner, told we were too loud and weren't welcome at the Tuscan Terrace. I booked a girls' weekend to stay at Sanctuary by Sirromet as part of an engagement celebration/venue hunting months ago through booking.com. Check in and the cellar door experience was perfect. As food service at the cellar door was closed, we were told by the staff that we could head over to the terrace after 530pm for food. After one standard drink at tasting and one bottle of wine shared between four people over three hours, we made our way to the terrace. We asked for a table and were told by the manager, Robert, that there were no tables available. At first glance, almost all tables were vacant. We asked if we could come back at a later time slot however we were told no. We asked if takeaway was an option as we did not have any food back at the accommodation and we were told room service was our only option. All suggestions were disregarded and we were rudely told by Robert that we were not welcome at the Terrace because we had had too much to drink and made too much noise at the cellar door, prior to arriving.. In response to being turned away, we returned to our accommodation and decided to not spend any more of our money to support this venue, so we went without dinner. Instead we opened another bottle and surprisingly on an empty stomach, this turned into quite a noisy night after all. I am curious to know if denying patrons food is the correct responsible service of alcohol... I understand if the restaurant was fully booked at the time of arrival that we would be respectfully turned away, however this was not the case. Very unprofessional, rude manager that is ruining this beautiful venue. How disappointing! My friends and I were celebrating my engagement and getting a feel for the venue for my wedding. If we wanted to have a 'big night' we would have gone to the city. It is very disappointing to have been spoken to the way we were, and blatantly told that we were not welcome. Sirromet is very secluded from shops within walking distance, and after spending $700 on accommodation, dinner service with a smile should be available. We should never have been told that dinner would be available at the terrace if this was not the case. If you want to book this venue be aware that Robert is very rude! FYI Between 4pm and 530pm if you don't have a dinner booking you cannot get food unless you have a booking, or if you are quiet at wine tasting.... Maybe Robert should refresh himself on the signs of intoxication The Tuscan Terrace should do themselves a favour and hire a new manager :) read more

I really enjoyed my Sirromet experience. The service was courteous, my glass was always full and the food was just devine! I had the triple cheese twice cooked soufflé, the salmon and veg and a brownie and lindt chocolate ice cream for dessert. All of which was delicious! Sirromet seems to be everywhere I look lately - they have done some very clever teaming up with Brisbane restaurants, notably with some great wine / food nights and have really raised their profile. They were also the site of the recent Hall and Oates concert (don't pretend you don't love them). This winery is surprising mainly because it's not in the Adelaide Hills. I wouldn't have believed there was such a thing on Brisbane's doorstep, however I'm happy to be proven wrong. This is a treat yourself kinda place, and they are clever enough to have really fine dining in their restaurant which justifies the prices, compliments the wine and tends to put one in an expansive, expensive kinda mind set (totally backfires when you're asked to pay that much for dodgy food though, it's fascinating how the human mind works). I'd definitely take someone special here, or maybe reward some long suffering parents with a lunch if you're the kind of kid who's realised how grateful you should be for your cushy middle class upbringing. read more

Sirromet winery is a very popular winery. Somewhat touristy. However don't let the tourist appeal fool you. The restaurant Lurleen is actually very good. We had the catch of the day, a vegetarian gnocchi, duck and game trio and the prawn and crab stack. Service was personal and very good. Recommended wine was their signature Verdelho which went well with most of the dishes. All the dishes were very good and recommended. The exception was the gnocchi which I did not enjoy. For dessert we had the the dark chocolate mousse, shared by all of us because we were stuffed. Excellent flavor. Unfortunately a little too sweet for me. Clearly I had an amazing time, so much so I was a bit too pissed to write a review! We flew up to Brizzy specifically to have a birthday lunch with friends! Let's just say, it did not disappoint! Arrive early so you can do some wine tasting before lunch! Everyone was friendly and helpful, no pressure to buy! Okay we bought a case and a half! Lunch started with a table with a beautiful view and an amazing server! I had the lambs brains for a start, which were spot on! You either love them or vomit at the thought! I love them and these were spectacular! I had duck for main but not 100% sure duck what? It was also amazing!! From what I can recall, everything that came to the table was very nice and had I known the serves were going to be so big, I would have started with dessert! Unfortunately by the time I got to that part of lunch I was stuffed! But in a good way!! As far as wineries go, the meal portions were big and value for money! 5 people, entree and mains, 3 bottles of wine was just on $400! For the service, the setting, the food and drink, it was a bargain!! I've been there for a wedding, which was amazing but lunch will be had next time I'm looking to feel a bit special!! read more

Beautiful, scenic position atop a hill surrounded by vineyards and the most tasteful old style heavy wooden building cosidering it was constructed just a few years ago. Sirromet is a nice place to be. I was lucky enough a few years ago to tag along on a tour and it's really fascinating to see the business side of the vineyard. You can become a 'friend' of Sirromet and take part in a symbolic first picking of the season's grapes each year too, I believe. The wines are really good and getting better. Lurlene's Restaurant has great food but it's got to be special to get me there; the entrees cost what I like to pay for a main. However I've eaten there three times so far and never been disappointed. Delicious food from quality produce. read more

Spent the afternoon here today. Food was ok not great. However the issue we had was when the chair collapsed and one of our friends fell heavily onto the concrete. The waitress came over and said it was ok the chair was broken!! No mention of are you ok! We asked for an incident report and to speak to a manager. She came back with the report and advised the manager did not want to speak to us. So we asked to speak to her again. Reluctantly she came out. We asked about the process and she replied the waitress was only 15 and was trained in work Heath And safety!, anyway we said why did have cheap plastic chairs at out our table (no other table had these ) she said she did not know and that was not not dept. she had absolutely. NO customer service skills and was really put out that we were even asking her why this could happen. She went on to say they never use theses chairs. Yet when. We looked over the verandah there were 100s there for the concert be held next day. Our friends back is already sore which we told her and it seemed she did not not care. I was disgusted at her lack of resolution solving and customer service. All she kept on saying was it was not her fault. When I asked if she could confirm these plastic chairs would not be used again. She replied she could not and would have to check with the dept that looks after these. read more
