I drove to Mineral Point to visit Hook's storefront here. Of course I missed where it was but that was a serendipitous invitation to drive through the rest of the town. In doing so I stumbled upon Sirius Sunlight. I don't know that I would have stopped in except they had displayed these really adorable Halloween decorations in the window. I'd love to decorate for Halloween... put peel-and-stick window decor really isn't my thing, so I typically don't. Seeing these I popped in and picked up five or six, as well as a few other things. She said I nearly cleaned her out of them--she won't have much of a chance to make any more for the season since there are other projects on the docket.
I bought some glass pills to attach to the chain for some of the lights in my home. They make icicles here, for Christmas trees. I made a mental note last year that I didn't have enough of the glass ones (those are what I put on my tree) I was glad to pick up a dozen more here. There was a beautiful Halloween-themed glass plate (see photos) that I talked myself out of buying. Reluctantly.
As much as I dread fall in the midwest because it's too close to winter, I'm really looking forward to October so I can put up my new decorations. Jill was very friendly and I enjoyed getting to speak with her. If you're in town by chance, for the Cornish Festival, or anything else, stop in! read more
