My experience at Sir Walter was most definitely a positive experience. The service and personal care the Sir Walter team gave me was impeccable. I didn't feel like I was on an assembly when it came down the personal care I experienced. I would highly recommend The Sir Walter team as a top choice if you are in the market for a new or pre-owned vehicle read more

When I dropped my car off the evening prior, I kind of assumed my vehicle wouldn't be finished until much later the next day, especially since I told them after a certain time, I wouldn't be able to pick up my car until much later. I traveled from California prepared to purchase a vehicle and expected a professional, straightforward experience at Sir Walter Chevrolet. Unfortunately, that expectation was not met. To be clear, Brendan and Andre were professional, respectful, and genuinely good to work with. They represent the dealership well and handled themselves the way customers hope a sales team will. Regrettably, once the process moved beyond them, the experience declined sharply. Out of respect, although none was extended to me, I will refrain from naming members of upper management. That said, the tone and approach at that level were dismissive, ego-driven, and unnecessarily condescending. What should have been a good-faith business discussion felt more like an exercise in posturing than an effort to reach a reasonable outcome. Adding to this, I was contacted days later and provided an explanation regarding the California DMV registration process that had not been clearly communicated beforehand. Being asked to navigate additional clarification after the fact only reinforced concerns about transparency, attention to detail, and accountability throughout the experience. If prospective customers take the time to filter out the one-star reviews, a clear pattern emerges. This dealership has some genuinely good people, but it is undermined by others whose conduct reflects poorly on the operation as a whole. That contrast ultimately says more about the dealership than any single transaction ever could. read more

I have a 2020 Chev trax that has been at this location since Tuesday 7-11-2026 they message me on Friday that it was a thermostat and to replace it would be $790.00 so said ok they said parts was $160.00 and they had to replace liquid (coolant ) so I ask them to replace both the filters inside car and under the hood and he said the price was higher but still my points would cover it butt then I let them know that I had i points on my GM account that would take care of that at first he said I didn't have enough but I had already check so all of a sudden he found it so now they replace it and said now it's the ignition pack which is 4 wires and now they want $1270.65 my car is still there and today is 07-14-2026 at 5:30 sends a message saying he can't get to it today maybe tomorrow this is a bad rating I never and will never deal with them again if I ever get my car back read more

I went in to have two roof rails swapped...after 2.5 hours of them attempting, they informed me one roof rail was bent so could not be replaced, I now have dents in my car from whatever clamps or tools they were using and they were not able to properly put my car back together so proceeded to give my car back with bent panels. Very frustrating and disheartening experience to trust a team to take care of your new vehicle, yet are given a damaged vehicle back. After 3 trips back to the dealership, hoping to finally have a resolution soon on how this will all be corrected. UPDATE: The GM Mike Carlson became involved and has been very transparent and resolved the issue. He was very professional, followed up and made sure the issue was resolved in a timely manner. read more

Probably the shittiest service department possible. Took my car in to get the struts replaced should take maybe 3 days total. It's been 1 1/2 weeks. Haven't gotten any update. I recently purchased a slightly used 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 from Sir Walter Chevrolet in Raleigh, NC, and what started as an exciting new truck buy has quickly turned into a nightmare. Less than a month after driving it off the lot, I noticed the engine overheating, and I've had to constantly monitor and refill the coolant levels daily just to keep it running safely. I took it to my trusted mechanic, who performed a pressure test and confirmed an upper radiator hose leak. The vehicle is still well under warranty, so I reached out to Sir Walter's service department expecting a straightforward fix. Instead, they've been dragging their feet--insisting I schedule an appointment at their convenience, drop off the truck, and wait for them to "figure it out" whenever they get around to it. No sense of urgency, no loaner vehicle offered, and no willingness to make this right without me jumping through unnecessary hoops. This is unacceptable for a dealership selling certified or warrantied vehicles. Buyers beware: inspect everything thoroughly before signing, and don't count on prompt post-sale support. I'm posting this in hopes it lights a fire under them to resolve my issue properly, but based on my experience so far, I'd recommend shopping elsewhere for your next Chevy. read more

Man I wish you can give a place 0 stars on Yelp. RUN AWAY. Scammers trying to take every dime you have. Purchased two cars from here since moving to NC. Andre was a great salesman, he is knowledgeable and very attentive. We had to contact him a few months after our last purchase and he was prompt to help and answer questions. Service center review- setting up appointments are easy and you can get in quickly. Shawn Brown the service advisor is very personable and helpful. He is always smiling and friendly. I appreciate they offer discounts for your next service if you take a survey. The waiting isn't bad. They have a seating area with a tv and snacks. They also have a small kids area. Free Wifi while you wait. I've been happy with the customer service by the staff. read more

So I called about a price of a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado on 9/26/24 and the price of the vehicle was $18,261 they finally called me back on 9/20/2024 and the priced on the website jumped up to $19,998. The sales man Theo said the price changed because they had some work done to it but the vehicle was sitting on the lot for over 30 days, he would not honor the price of the vehicle from when I saw it and called on 9/26/2024. He kept trying to say that they did all this work on the vehicle so if that's the case then why leave the vehicle on your website for $18,261 for 30 days and mis-lead customers. It is just another franchise dealer who is trying to take advantage of customers by slick car talk. Would not recommend this company bad customer service and bad follow up definitely recommend taking your business somewhere else. read more

I'm right in between this dealership and another, yet every time I come here (which is a little less often because of the 540 traffic) I get amazing service. Wish I had bought my vehicle from here instead of the other nearby Chevy dealer. Called for valet service two days ago and today, Tom was on time, on point and super-friendly and accommodating. While my vehicle was in for routine service, they noticed something else that needed fixing, called me to get the OK and then went ahead and did it free of charge. Tyler and Tom really put an amazing face for customer service on Sir Walter Chevy, so much so that I'd rather forego my free service at the other location and pay to get things done here. Quick, professional and goes the extra mile. Highly recommend, and highly recommend Tom and Tyler both get some praise from the boss - they've convinced me to come to Sir Walter first from now on. read more

2 parts to this bad review and I will start out by saying straight forward they lost a customer today and I will NEVER set foot on their lot again and will do everything I can to have people NOT shop here. Part #1. I purchased my 2018 Chevrolet Colorado here back in September 2018. I have been a loyal service customer ever since. Had everything I needed done to my truck done here and have always talked very well about this dealership. Don't know what changed since then but lately that has changed then but the service quality and customer service is seriously lacking. Back in June I had an oil change and inspection done. They charged me for the inspection and never performed the inspection. Called there to get an answer and the service tech (Cody) was super rude and acted like he didn't know what he was talking about. Trusting them I made a secondary appointment for the inspection the service tech made it known that they charged me for it and didn't actually do the work. Part #2 Knowing the trade in value of trucks in the market in September 2021 I decided to shop around and get values on my truck. I went to 3 other dealers to get values before stopping over to where I purchased my truck and had all the service done to my truck and the dealership that sent me a letter offering to buy my truck. They literally insulted me by offering me $5000 dollars less for my vehicle than the the other 3 dealerships did. Its terribly obvious that they thought I was stupid and didn't know the value of my vehicle in this market and tried to super low ball me. I know I am only one customer and in this market of Sept.2021 car dealers really do NOT care about 1 customer but they lost me for sure. read more

*THEY STACK REVIEWS, BEWARE* This place is beyond unprofessional. So much so, it was weird. -Jose and the sales manager made up a ridiculous story about the truck we had an appointment to look at. Saying it had been hit by another truck in the lot. Made us wait 45 min walking around wasting time just to tell us they had lied about the whole thing and it sold the previous night. They had nothing to say other than 'can we help you with another truck possibly? ' Ha! Yeah, I want you to help me after you admitted lying in my wife and Is face. -They had customers in the lobby discussing their personal finances out loud. -Front desk assistant playing on smart phone WHILE TAKING CALLS. This place is really, really dumb. And I'm being nice by saying that. read more

I really try to give people in the auto industry some slack because they get a bad rep about "ripping people off" but you know what something just feels "shifty"...yeah, me too. I made an appointment for Tuesday (yesterday)at 2:45pm because my check engine light was on. The associate got my info said they should probably get to it today, but maybe not until tomorrow morning because they were running a bit behind. That's fine, he was upfront. Got a call around 5pm (from my original associate, Cole) saying they haven't been able to get to it, won't be until tomorrow morning, maybe afternoon at the latest and Cole would be I tomorrow but someone else will take care of my car/account. Okay, fine...a little annoying but I understand. Today 11am rolls around, haven't heard anything so I call and check the status. Girl on the phone was nice and polite but couldn't find anyone to give me an update, says "Christopher is the mechanic assigned to it and he'll give me a call when he figures it out". She also said "the computer shows I have an appointment for tomorrow (Thur) morning at 7:30" and I told her that can't be right because I dropped it off yesterday. 2:30pm Wednesday, still haven't heard anything, checked the "check my status online" option they sent in a text and it showed that the inspection had not been completed. 2:45 I drove over to the dealership to pick it up, I was tired of waiting and I had a sneaking suspicion they hadn't looked at my car yet.... I made an appointment yesterday and 24hrs later no one had given me any answers? Why make an appointment if it's going to take a full day to get any answers. Once I got there, the guy at the desk (maybe Michael?) was nice but clueless about what was going on. When I asked when they ran the diagnostic test he told me it was done that morning. So when I asked why no one called me, he was fumbly and said it was because they were waiting to find a price on what it would cost to replace the part that needed to be replaced (even tho the price was on the print out when I left). When I asked what the part was and why it's important, he had to call Cole (from yesterday) to see if he knew what was going on...(remember, Cole wasn't there today. Why would he know?) and nobody could really explain the part that was needed and what it does. Overall, it felt like nobody knew what was happening. I may be jumping to conclusions but I feel like they probably didn't even look at my car. Everything felt weird and wrong and unorganized. My biggest concern is WHY WOULD I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT IF NOBODY CAN GET AN ANSWER IN A TIMELY MANNER. I paid them $168 to hold my car for 24hours and tell me a part needed to be replaced that nobody could really explain what it did. I just felt like everything was sketchy and wrong and I expect better from a dealership. read more

My truck buying experience here started online and went smoothly throughout. My salesman was polite and friendly. His sales manager on the other hand could use a little training in customer service. He comes across a little rude and smart mouthed. I just let folks like that go in one ear and out the other. My truck buying experience went fairly fast after I arrived. I felt as if I didn't receive a lot of information about future service that's offered either by the dealership or the manufacturer but I have since learned all that on my own and with the help of a text to my salesman. Very clean dealership. Easy to access. If your in the market for a new Chevrolet or used vehicle this isn't a bad spot to check into. read more

Bad experience. Waited 3 days for an appt. Then another 8 days before I called for an update. Left my car for repairs to the heater fan. They say they need to replace my windshield, and added brakes and rotors to the list. Over $3500 if I leave the car with them. Tim in the parts department is the worst ever I don't believe Sirwalter hire people like him. I bought a CarBravo certified used car from Sir Walter Chevrolet. I had a couple hiccups when it had a major engine issue 2 days after I drove it home. I called CarBravo and was unpleasantly surprised when they told me they don't automatically provide a rental when my car is being fixed (it was not drivable per technician). CarBravo said it was up to the dealer to provide transportation and I could submit a receipt for a rental car and they would review it but not guarantee reimbursement. CarBravo's warranty specifically states they provide a rental if your car is being fixed under warranty so this was not right or fair. The 5 star review comes in when the sales lady that sold me the car (Liz) saw me in the service dept and asked what happened. I told her and she went to the sales side and came back with a loaner for me - one of their pre-owned cars for sale. Due to calling CarBravo initially, there was a GM rep that called and kept me updated on my repair and kept in touch with the service dept. The service dept was excellent - clean, state of the art and efficient. Another hiccup when the check engine light came on again after I got the car back the second time (2 services in a week and a half). Went back to the dealer and they fixed it within 2 hours (computer programming issue). I have never had a Chevrolet but I was happy with the sales and service experience. Hopefully it's fixed for good. CarBravo follow up was good too. Not happy with the initial refusal of a loaner by CarBravo but Liz came through. They deserve to have their extra effort recognized. read more
