We came here for our honeymoon and knew that if we were going to be staying in Montreal for more…read morethan a few days, we would need a place with a small kitchen to give our stomachs a break every once in awhile. This little hotel was perfect. Clean, well decorated, and full stocked with cooking and eating utensils, fridge, dishwasher, stove, microwave, toaster oven, etc. The place is perfect. The bed is comfortable, there are plenty of pillows (a comfortable bed and good pillows are a must for me), and free internet. There aren't many parking spaces around, so if you have a car, let the owner know ahead of time. She let us use her private parking space, which is fine for us, but do call ahead and make sure that there is room. The toilet flushes a little funky, but overall the place is clean and exactly what we need for a slightly longer stay that lets us feel more like living in a home. You will not get daily maid service, but this is fine for us as we usually don't let the maids in when we are in a hotel (it makes us feel pressured to clean up before they come in). However, if you need anything (extra towels for example), the owner is available during business hours. Overall, this is perfect for what we wanted. At a big chain hotel, we would be paying twice the rate to get half the things in terms of size and convenience. Plus, this place is much quieter! No screaming kids running down a hallway outside! I would definitely come back, and it's also nice to know that I'm supporting a small local business.

"Terrible Booking Experience - Left without accommodations last minute!"…read more This is a terrible person, someone who reminds me of a scammer. Do not waste your precious time. I contacted Maya directly after 2 booking requests had expired and she blamed it on the fact that she lost an assistant, she probably tells everyone this. My wife and I have used travel portals for years having secured accommodations in Paris, London, Lisbon, Quebec City, New York City, Portland, Seattle and Los Angeles. We use the service for long stays because we do not like the feel of hotels and it is nice to have home cooked meals when away from home for long duration's. I started contacting Maya on June 23, 2017. After leaving voicemail messages, sending a web-form request on VRBO and email to info@sunsetsuites.com to provide a deposit for my stay between July 25 and August 3, 2017 I had not heard back from Maya. I called today, again asking about my booking and I was told there wasn't one. Believe it or not she blamed me for not being in touch more often! She then read my email out to me and said, "well I can't answer the thousands of emails I get by myself, I am training someone now and I apologize for you not getting a suite." I told her that her excused do no good for me as I need accommodations. I have to travel to Montreal to move my mother who is ill into an assisted living home. Getting back to my conversation back in June, Maya said to me that she put me down for a premium suite for the price of $1045 CDN for 9 nights. There was a slight chance that a renter would not be leaving but she assured me that there would be a standard room available. I am now left with having to find last minute accommodations because of this uncaring business person. Do not do business with this person or you will be sorry.

They absolutely DO NOT. If they like you, you'll get repairs. If they don't, good luck. They try…read moreand pin any repair you need on you so they can charge you for it. The "discount" is a fallacy. The rent is going up at an alarming rate bc of the most inconsequential repairs being done constantly. Constant construction so always noisy. The pool is a crap shoot. Sometimes is dirty and even worse, green. Don't let the pretty flowers fool you either. We all pay way too much for those when they're free down the street every year. They're also ruining the foundation which is getting worse and worse every year. The administration is getting worse every year as well. They have taken to PHYSICALLY removing you from the office if you dare to complain about something and they don't like you. Ppl are leaving here more and more. There are vacancies in a housing shortage for a reason. You'll be sick of the micromanaging real quick. They all but tell you when to crap and fart. There's a BOOKLET of rules just for the pool. They're welcoming more and more immigrants bc they know they won't complain and they can take advantage of them. When you move in, don't expect too much in the way of repairs, the maintenance guy spends much of his day being angry but doing very little for and amazing salary. We're bleeding money here. Problem is, there aren't enough ppl who will stand up and complain, so we go miserably on. Please believe me when I say, the 1 obligatory star I gave is too good for this place. You can do much better.

The gym has great equipment and the rooftop view is amazing. The new managent company Maddox is fantastic. Now, we have Maddox people on-site daily and everything works! Marie

I've lived here for 2 years…read more Starting from the beginning, the real estate guy was super creepy. He also didn't show up to scheduled viewings. When I finally leased the unit, I had to run around to get my keys to move in, there was no one around or answering the phone or available to assist in any way. No one answered my calls and no one set the elevator into moving mode the day I moved in which was a huge inconvenience to everyone. The building smells like weed and cigarettes constantly, there are cigarette butts and joints and lighters thrown on my balcony from above. They got in my plants and ruined them. The security is also not 24h, I think they're only available certain days/hours. PACKAGES GET STOLEN SUPER OFTEN. Elevators are constantly not working. I notified that I was moving out and realtors showed up without 24h notice (or any at all) to show my apartment. I informed them that I didn't receive notice of the showing and the girl asked to come in anyway. I communicated multiple times that I have health concerns and needed notice of entry into my apartment so I could take necessary precautions but I don't believe I was taken seriously. They also ask to raise rent for the next term ABOVE Quebec guidelines for rent increases. The management is non responsive, but polite. It takes 3-5 emails to get a reply that shows they've only read half your email
