When they finally responded, the manager agreed to provide a hotel credit if we cancelled the reservation on Expedia. We contacted Expedia as instructed, and the Expedia representative informed us that ApartHotelMontreal would need to cancel our reservation independently. When we tried to resume contact with the ApartHotelMontreal staff, they were unresponsive. After many phone calls and emails, we finally received a response regarding a credit. They retracted their offer. Highly unprofessional and a deeply unsatisfactory experience.

There's no reception desk and you check in to the hotel and your room with a code that's emailed to you. There's a lobby with coffee and on Sundays, some pastries, and laundry machines in the hallways. The rooms themselves are like mini apartments. There's small kitchenettes and nice bathrooms with rainfall showers. TVs come equipped with AppleTV's and there's reliable and fast Wifi. Walls are a bit thin though. My next door neighbours were binge watching The Office which I was reminded of every time the opening played. It's a 5 minute stumble home from 3AM La Banquise poutine and next door to a fancy meal at Au Pied du Cochon. It's 5 minutes from the Sherbrooke subway station and next to the beautiful Parc Lafontaine. It's a great location in the Plateau and out of the really touristy areas. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. While there wasn't a check in counter, it didn't feel impersonal at all.

However, I feel for the price, you could do better-- and I wish they were more communicative about the problems that they had encountered to prep the guests for their visit. I did write a review through Airbnb, and I will relay the content through there, as well as add pictures to describe what happened. Per my Airbnb review: "The location is wonderful, apartment is a good crash pad... However, the A/C was not working as advertised, and they were aware of the issue beforehand due to a fire. Since A/C was essential during a hot summer, they were nice enough to bring a fan, however, they DID know about the issue beforehand and they could have warned us so we could have made alternate arrangements, or they could have offered more for the inconvenience. They had limited amenities-- no hand soap, for instance, though there was dish washing soap, and shower gel. While they were nice, and somewhat timely, it was difficult to reach them if it was urgent (my calls usually went to voicemail.) Some doors were not working (entrance) or they were hard to open. They should be able to keep their properties updated better, as well as updating their potential guests about issues that may arise. While the location was great, given the inconvenience, I would hesitate in rebooking unless they were extremely specific about updates re: amenities." So let me update with what happened: We booked this apartment due to the location, and the amenities. Due to medical conditions, I tend to run unreasonably hot and therefore, I usually book places that have air conditioning. We booked it, given that the apartment looked nice and featured air conditioning. As soon as we stepped into the unit, there was no "welcome booklet" provided from the company (we had to look downstairs in the lobby for their quick check in sheet), as well as the A/C unit itself was not working. We quickly told them this, and they were nice enough to send a maintenance man over the next day. The maintenance man came over and then told us he did not know how to fix it, after trying a couple solutions. After letting them know about the result, they went out of their way to message us, telling us that the problem was connected to something that they knew about beforehand. Yes, I understand a fire is out of your control, but this is your property. If you knew it would affect the units, why wouldn't you remedy this by providing this information to guests that you are renting the units out to, or offering to place them in a different location? I don't think that's unreasonable, and most places providing service of that caliber would think of solutions. They did provide us with a fan, which I noted in my original review-- was great on them. However, it wasn't enough to provide us with a comfortable sleep. I find it funny that they kept citing outside temperatures and that we should be able to sleep comfortably. Unfortunately, even with the windows open, apartments can be well isolated and since there is no wind, it can still cause apartments to be hot. With the fan on, while they cited 18 C temperatures, it was, in fact (due to their wall units and the temperatures we had seen) actually 24 - 26 C consistently in the apartment. None of the support people were even on property as this is a self-serviced apartment, so I believe they are just trying to save face. After reading their airbnb review (saying I was "unfair and trying to demand more money even though so and so") I would never stay here again. Despite their paltry refund of 10% and a complimentary night stay-- why would I stay at a place that knew about the problems, and then didn't try to remedy them beforehand? And then, additionally, why would I stay after they wrote me a bad review with false information? This would have been a 2-3 star review due to excellent location and cleanliness. But their service is severely lacking. You could do better.

The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals every day, which saved tons of money (restaurants in Montreal are expensive). The best part of the apartment is the gorgeous deck, where we spent every evening enjoying dinner, wine, and relaxing. The apartment is about a 10-15 minute walk to Marche Jean-Talon, which is the first thing we did in Montreal-- stocked up on tons of fresh fruits, veggies, local meats and eggs and bread. The apartment is only 5 minutes walk to the Beaubien Metro (subway), which we used almost every day to explore the sights of Montreal. The subway is clean and extremely efficient, and cost-effective if you buy an Opus card. Alain was a nice host (he and his wife live downstairs), and although we didn't need anything, he made sure we knew we could always knock on his door if we did. The rental process itself was easy, and he immediately refunded to us our security deposit after we checked out. Overall, a wonderful experience, and we can't wait to go back!

I contacted Maya directly after 2 booking requests had expired and she blamed it on the fact that she lost an assistant, she probably tells everyone this. My wife and I have used travel portals for years having secured accommodations in Paris, London, Lisbon, Quebec City, New York City, Portland, Seattle and Los Angeles. We use the service for long stays because we do not like the feel of hotels and it is nice to have home cooked meals when away from home for long duration's. I started contacting Maya on June 23, 2017. After leaving voicemail messages, sending a web-form request on VRBO and email to info@sunsetsuites.com to provide a deposit for my stay between July 25 and August 3, 2017 I had not heard back from Maya. I called today, again asking about my booking and I was told there wasn't one. Believe it or not she blamed me for not being in touch more often! She then read my email out to me and said, "well I can't answer the thousands of emails I get by myself, I am training someone now and I apologize for you not getting a suite." I told her that her excused do no good for me as I need accommodations. I have to travel to Montreal to move my mother who is ill into an assisted living home. Getting back to my conversation back in June, Maya said to me that she put me down for a premium suite for the price of $1045 CDN for 9 nights. There was a slight chance that a renter would not be leaving but she assured me that there would be a standard room available. I am now left with having to find last minute accommodations because of this uncaring business person. Do not do business with this person or you will be sorry.

I've lived here for 2 years…read more Starting from the beginning, the real estate guy was super creepy. He also didn't show up to scheduled viewings. When I finally leased the unit, I had to run around to get my keys to move in, there was no one around or answering the phone or available to assist in any way. No one answered my calls and no one set the elevator into moving mode the day I moved in which was a huge inconvenience to everyone. The building smells like weed and cigarettes constantly, there are cigarette butts and joints and lighters thrown on my balcony from above. They got in my plants and ruined them. The security is also not 24h, I think they're only available certain days/hours. PACKAGES GET STOLEN SUPER OFTEN. Elevators are constantly not working. I notified that I was moving out and realtors showed up without 24h notice (or any at all) to show my apartment. I informed them that I didn't receive notice of the showing and the girl asked to come in anyway. I communicated multiple times that I have health concerns and needed notice of entry into my apartment so I could take necessary precautions but I don't believe I was taken seriously. They also ask to raise rent for the next term ABOVE Quebec guidelines for rent increases. The management is non responsive, but polite. It takes 3-5 emails to get a reply that shows they've only read half your email

It is on route 15 southbound and I like that it is really easy to get into and out. But you do have to drive into Montreal if you want to go for the night life and whatever else. But on the plus side, the price is very reasonable and the savings on the room I guess you can apply towards parking. But a word of warning, the meters in Montreal go till nine PM. And you have to pay on Sunday! Its your basic motel. The last time I went, there was a crew from Toronto that came to drink and party. Because Quebec has a younger drinking age, people come from the States and the other provinces to party.

We were hosted by Gilles who has been running this place for over 20 years. He'll definitely make you laugh and make you feel welcome. He cooks amazing breakfasts every morning between 8-10AM. Our room was great. The bed was comfortable and the place was quiet. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of our room. There's a nice brunch spot as well as a large grocery store within a few minutes walk. It had been quite some time since I stayed in an old school bed and breakfast. This experience made me want to stay in more of them again! The personal touch and care we received can't be matched in a hotel or an air bnb. I highly recommend staying at Gilles' place.
